She's been busy!

I hope that those who expressed concern will be happy to know that she has been working with the Archewell team on their just released Impact Report.

Meghan and Harry are polarising figures but there is no doubt that they have galvanising power to get projects, both little and big, off the ground.

Harry, with William and Kate, was a co-founder of the Royal Foundation in 2011. They had a start-up fund of just under 5 million pounds, of which 1.3 million pounds was given away in grants.

10 yrs later, Harry and Meghan set up Archewell, with start up funds of 13 million dollars, and give away three million dollars in grants.

As with both foundations, the reserve is carried over.

The range of their projects is interesting, from working with the Vaccine Alliance to raise private sector contributions to distribute vaccines, endowing academic fellowships, working with partners in resettling refugees from Ukraine and Afghanistan, working with World Central Kitchens, to smaller projects like the Uvalde community playground and park and a really cute project to a small charity that gives free hair braiding to young black girls in Texas.

I am so pleased for them, their advisors and staff as this is a dream start for any start up. I have long been sceptical that they may have spread themselves too thinly, so I am glad to see they are now focusing on just three areas, as they find their groove.

You and I have clearly different values @Lizziet64 but I believe that with so many things stacked against women, it's a pity to find women spending all their time tearing into another woman. I value female friendship and have learned a lot from @Roussette.

You just have. I don't comment or compliment MrsMax on 'everything she posts'. I have just looked through this thread and this is the first time I have complimented her on a post. It amused me. So I commented on it.

I have posted that I think she has been gracious in her replies to posters but that is not commenting on 'everything' she posts. Once. First time today. I must up my game!

Maybe the 'pro' posters are just naturally more supportive 🙂. There must be a certain type of personality that enjoys being mean about people they don't know, and I'm guessing it isn't the 'warmly affirming' type.

Yes. I think there is a camaraderie and understanding.

I just wish there could be more of a middle ground so that discussion can take place, sadly that doesn't happen because certain posters don't read the post, they just look at the poster and attack.

In the past I've written a long thought out post about where I think it went wrong, how H&M were at fault in some ways, how and why it all happened. And I just get sneered at and ridiculed because I am Roussette.

Kris Jenner is definitely not 'A' list Hollywood elite.

Ellen DeGeneres is somewhat...problematic nowadays and the bullying and racism allegations hugely damaged her brand. Maybe she's seen more positively now but she was most definitely "cancelled" by Hollywood last year.

@MrsFinkelstein given that H and M's kids apparently call her "Auntie Ellen" and that they are neighbours and seem to be in and out of each other's houses, how about the crazy notion that they are, beyond who has what status in Hollywood, just friends?

Hmm, I don't think Ellen has been accused of being personally racist but as you know I'm not the brightest so I could be wrong!

Here is a comment she did make though which I think is very good, maybe it's something you can consider:

"I don’t want to generalize because there are some bad people out there and those people shouldn’t work again but, in general, the culture today is one where you can’t learn and grow, which is, as human beings, what we’re here to do."

Pro posters are delightfully warm and affirming until the discussion moves on to, say, Kate, then much of the warmth and affirmation takes a nosedive out the window. Not so cosy then, eh? It's where posters who are normally quick to dismiss the racism Meghan experienced in the UK press are even quicker to accuse her of hanging out with racists. Because racism is bad only if it can be associated with Meghan, not if it is targeted at her.
