The "Where's Meghan" Question Has Been Definitively Answered ...

She's been busy!

I hope that those who expressed concern will be happy to know that she has been working with the Archewell team on their just released Impact Report.

Meghan and Harry are polarising figures but there is no doubt that they have galvanising power to get projects, both little and big, off the ground.

Harry, with William and Kate, was a co-founder of the Royal Foundation in 2011. They had a start-up fund of just under 5 million pounds, of which 1.3 million pounds was given away in grants.

10 yrs later, Harry and Meghan set up Archewell, with start up funds of 13 million dollars, and give away three million dollars in grants.

As with both foundations, the reserve is carried over.

The range of their projects is interesting, from working with the Vaccine Alliance to raise private sector contributions to distribute vaccines, endowing academic fellowships, working with partners in resettling refugees from Ukraine and Afghanistan, working with World Central Kitchens, to smaller projects like the Uvalde community playground and park and a really cute project to a small charity that gives free hair braiding to young black girls in Texas.

I am so pleased for them, their advisors and staff as this is a dream start for any start up. I have long been sceptical that they may have spread themselves too thinly, so I am glad to see they are now focusing on just three areas, as they find their groove.

@Roussette

The poster is scraping barrel as you well know. It started off as a discussion about Archewell but her criticism is getting pettier and pettier the emptier her bag gets and the more robust pushback she gets. The Markles, the Argentine job, all have been brought in as points of attack. Next she will be moaning that when Meghan was 2, she threw blueberries on the floor that Samantha had to clean up 40 years ago in 1983. 😅

@MrsMaxDeWinter

why don’t you just think before posting nonsense, then I wouldn’t have to waste my time pointing out how wrong those statements are

Did the impact statement include the 40 :40 initiative ?

Mrsorganmorgan · 31/01/2023 15:51

People all over the world are having to choose betwenn eating and heating. Nothing else to say!

Not to dampen your passion, but people in Africa, Latin America and Asia are generally not worried about heating as the climate does not require it.

So the choice between "eating and heating" while paramount in the UK, is not one faced by the majority of the world's population.

That aside, you are right that there are more pressing matters in the world.

It’s so weird on here sometimes. I can’t believe someone’s started a thread pretending they are pr agents for William and Harry and posting about them like this then declaring them to be so pleased. Like they are their mum or something.

honestlh such random weird behaviour.’

😂 agree! It’s odd! And I think you’re on to something about them pretending to be their pr agents 😂

pilates · 31/01/2023 16:54

@MrsMaxDeWinter your obsession with Meghan is fascinating.

Mrsorganmorgan · 31/01/2023 18:45

OK I see what you mean. Don't the see how priviledged they are? I can't believe it!! Never having to worry about money.

Mrsorganmorgan · 31/01/2023 19:09

Never having to think about money or buy "out of date food". I will say that they disgust me! All they do is moan and moan about silly little things!

Neowulf · 31/01/2023 20:03

Exactly - and yet they expect sympathy from people with actual struggles.

Deranged is the word😁

oh, the irony

BasiliskStare · 31/01/2023 21:05

@milti 😁.

I would be really interested to see their donations to charity - given they based arch well in ( is it Denver? ) where famously it is hard to see the accounts - I could be wrong here - probably )

Given how much money they are earning - I would like to see more transparent donations to charity - but up to them. What I do not like is - we are earning a fortune and we contribute relatively little so that we can say we are philanthroprists - This may be untrue. But I think they should be very much clearer about what they earn - what they keep and what they genuinely give to good causes.

milti · 31/01/2023 21:33

@BasiliskStare i expect they give away the bare minimum of other peoples money and little to none of their own - 5% is the oegal
minimum in Delaware

BasiliskStare · 31/01/2023 21:45

@milti - yes Delaware - I got that wrong - but my DH works for a US co. and Delaware I think can be somewhere where tax / companies do not be so transparent . His company is far from that - But then we are not trading on the RF. ha ha

Neowulf · 31/01/2023 22:36

@milti 😂

skullbabe · 31/01/2023 22:39

68% of Fortune 500 companies and 93% of all U.S.-based initial public offerings are all registered in Delaware - Forbes report that this is for tax benefits, privacy, expediency, simplified structure and the corporation court.

People dislike the Sussexes and their 'foundation' and their public bitch fest because their behaviour is so hypocritical.

They want to be seen as a benevolent, flawless, charitable royal power couple but they speak and act as if they are pissed off guests on the Jeremy Kyle show.

They have high ambitions but do not possess the required self control and confidence to achieve their goals.

It's not the most thought out strategy to try and position yourself as a calm, serene and moral brand while publicly stabbing your father and brother in the back and gleefully trying to destroy their reputation. In terms of current trends, intergenerational empathy and affection takes precedence over the narrative of Boomer/Zoomer/Millennial generational conflict. The Sussexes are not tapping into the current Zeitgeist, they are always out of step. They are choosing enmity over empathy but can't see it. Charles with his public messages of loving H&M and wanting them at the coronation is more in line with this trend than H&M attempts to discredit Papa and Willy.

In terms of change, authentic behaviour and empathy are the cultural trends at the moment and the Sussexes are acting inauthentically with their performative vulnerability. Audiences are embracing real, impromptu sharing but the Sussexes are using highly polished and controlled global media platforms that are the polar opposite of authentic, unscripted, bottom up content creation. It's inauthentic and faux.

Nepo Babies have come under fire and Prince Harry is the ultimate neon baby 😀.

The Sussexes are using nepo power and influence but trend analysts know nepo currency is rejected by today's public. Celebrities who are open, honest and self aware regarding their advantages are more popular than those claiming their family connections make things more challenging.

So, the Sussexes aren't 'change' or current, they are getting it spectacularly wrong. They are infamous rather than admired and their popularity ranking has dropped.

On a slightly different note, I don't think Darwin's theory of evolution is quite what you think it is @Socrateswasrightaboutvoting 😉.

I have adapted Darwin ;) And stand by my comment that some genes should not be passed down.

I think the treatment of Harry and Meghan says a lot more about the state of this country than their behaviour. Are they saints? Absolutely not. They are just normal human beings who have fallen out with family and who are trying to get by. Big family breakdowns are rarely pretty or rational, I see nothing different here.

You jest, surely. For example, that well known balmy spot, Siberia, is in Asia.

ThighMistress · 01/02/2023 09:04

Ha ha reminds me of the pil who went on a winter break to Milan and took shorts and sandals 🤣

You are absolutely correct. Because every family argument culminates in a published book, media wailing and whingeing to the world. I’m clearly doing it all wrong because I tend to keep it limited to a bitchfest down the pub.

I'll bet she has tons of books on royalty
