Andrew in bid to clear his name

Daily Mail is reporting this, I heard it on Sky News press preview. He is going to try to get her to retract her statement, apologise and pay back the money. It's hard to know what to think. But apparently, she dropped the case against another man after saying it was a case of mistaken identity. Prince Andrew said he can't recall meeting her. Very stramge.

Are we honestly being expected to believe that multi millionaire Maxwells large house in Belgravia only had one bathroom? I am willing to believe that that bathroom is in the house, but would bet money that it is tucked in the basement for staff use and that the fragrant Ghislaine had a beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom with a huge roll top bath ( and probably a separate walkthrough rainforest shower) converted from an adjoining bedroom. Because that is what rich, single, childless people who own town houses in Belgravia do.

I think in that he/his lawyers will say it doesn't match the description VG gave of GM's bathroom (large freestanding Victorian style bath, marble floor etc).

IIRC, GM didn’t own a large house, it was one of those tiny London mews houses, which have only one tiny bathroom. VG claimed that it was a bathroom with a Victorian bath in the middle of the room. The picture of the bathroom clearly shows that’s not true.

I wondered that. It would certainly make sense once all the accusations came to light. Plus that bathroom as a whole doesn't look to be the titchy space GM claimed it to be.

It is not tiny! It is a 3 storey mews house that sold years ago for £1.75million. How you can say it has a tiny bathroom and is tiny I do not know!

The reception room for instance is 20ft x 17ft, the bedrooms are large, it has a terrace on the roof, a study and two bathrooms.

The whole property was less than 1500 sq feet over 3 floors. It sold only last year for £1.75 million. For a central London house that’s tiny and cheap.

That's not right. It sold for £1.75M in 2021 and is now on the market for £2.6M

Either way the Telegraph has lost the plot to put this on their front page. It makes a mockery of them being supposedly a decent --if right wing- newspaper.

She bought it in the 90's and I think it was sold last year?

I read somewhere she gave control of her finances to her husband who's now refusing to pay for her lawyers so I'm guessing he was the one who flogged it as she would have been in custody.

The marriage has folded a year or two ago. His first marriage ended after his wife found out he was having an affair with GM. He has a new girlfriend now.

I think her brother or brothers are very supportive of her. Her husband walked away, understandably.

I don't disagree, Roussette, but it's also the paper the palace have sometimes favoured with their own stories - so if someone in BP is onboard with trying to rehabilitate the foul Andrew's image I could quite see how a "Look, he's innocent" image could end up there

Anyway what with Andrew and Charles's repulsive friends the place seems to be something of a pervert's paradise, and yet still there are folk who value an invitation

Exactly Puzzled. The DT does bat for the RF continually so no surprise really, it was just an embarrassing article though. The masks and the sat in the bath together... did the Editors actually think it would do any good?! Because it just channels pizza hut, no sweating and all that guff.

I thought Ian Maxwell's reportedly said that the photo "discredits" Virginia's account?
Sounds potentially helpful to me - or at least it might be if anyone believes a word that comes out of the Maxwell family's mouths

Sarah took a lot of stick from the press when she was married to Andrew. Her dress sense was criticised, and they were very cruel about her weight, calling her the Duchess of Pork at one point. Andrew was away a lot with the Navy, which put strain on the marriage. Then Sarah went on holiday with her financial advisor with her young daughters in tow, and was photographed sunbathing topless having her toes sucked by aforesaid financial advisor, which was very scandalous at the time. So they agreed to divorce.
