Daily Mail is reporting this, I heard it on Sky News press preview. He is going to try to get her to retract her statement, apologise and pay back the money. It's hard to know what to think. But apparently, she dropped the case against another man after saying it was a case of mistaken identity. Prince Andrew said he can't recall meeting her. Very stramge.

i laughed when she said the outfit Virginia is wearing is something shed never pick, it doesn’t work 😭.

Apart from how crass that is, it very much implies (from Maxwell's own mouth) that Maxwell knew Virginia Roberts extremely well - which is what VR has been saying all along. Well, it's Maxwell admitting it really.

I don't think Maxwell has really thought this through.

Quisquam · 24/01/2023 12:30

The Epstein saga is one of the rare occasions when there may be an actual conspiracy amongst 'the elites' to prevent the truth coming out and like Ghislaine's dad Bob Maxwell before him I suspect he was working for Mossad to have kompromat on powerful global figures as a measure of control as well as to satisfy his own sexual perversions. Whether that was by design or opportunity of a mixture of both we will probably never know.

We have thought that all along, and find it was strange there was no appetite in the US to pursue why Clinton and Trump associated with Epstein, and whether they too took advantage of trafficked girls? I consider the US authorities don’t want to pursue that, and prefer to let Prince Andrew take all the world attention, as a scapegoat. We believe Epstein was murdered before he spilt the beans to anyone about the US elite; and Ghislaine Maxwell knew it too all along. That’s why she kept her mouth shut on Epstein’s famous US associates and preferred a jail sentence to being murdered as well.

queenofarles · 24/01/2023 12:36

But The whole interview makes no sense,

why did she choose JK for her first ever interview?
the Clinton name dropping, is this a warning ?

who is advising her ?

queenofarles · 24/01/2023 12:43

Virginia said that GM took her shopping , and what she’s wearing in the pic is what GM picked for her, part of GM argument about the authenticity of the pic is Virginias clothes, it’s not GM style.

I think PA would be an absolute fool to try and rehabilitate himself in court; he doesn't have the wit or intelligence and Maxwell doesn't seem to be a credible witness. Even before this, he was widely disliked, acted like a tool and was involved in some dodgy dealings.

He has has his chance to go gracefully, he needs to be quiet.

Mamamia7962 · 24/01/2023 13:15

In Dershowitz's TV interview he says he had nothing to hide which is why he could challenge VG. He insinuates that PA did have something to hide and that because of PA's position he might not want other things to come to light which they would have done if it went to court.

When VG agreed a court settlement with JE years ago many of the court papers were sealed. I would imagine in those papers are some big names who don't want any of this to go public.

There’s clearly photographic evidence of them together with Maxwell in the background. Unless he’s contesting the integrity of the photograph? 🤔

I am assuming that he has some sort of evidence to prove that he wasn’t in America or wherever the crimes were said to have taken place. I don’t think a children’s party at Pizza Express is a suitable alibi. Unless others remember seeing him there and these people at said children’s party or his daughters are willing to testify under oath? I am also assuming that he must be aware there is a chance that he won’t be exonerated and things won’t be going his way? Presumably he has his legal counsel who would be advising him.

Unless he’s displaying narcissistic tendencies so he’s convinced that he’s right, not caring about the repercussions and as long as he believes that he’s right, then that’s all that matters.

This is part of the issue as I understand it. There is not "clearly" photographic evidence as the photo we have seen on so many newspapers is not the original its a copy and as such Virginia can't prove it is an actual photo and not a photo shop.

Not here saying I am for or against either merely that part of why the settlement was reached was because some of her evidence is possible to question if you were working for PA.

Another argument could also be that yes there is a photo but this doesn't prove they had sexual activity.

AttentionAll · 24/01/2023 15:25

Andrew will not go to court. The evidence is clearly against him. That is why he settled. This is simply pr to cast doubt in the minds of people who have no understanding of the issues e.g. you can not consent to sex if you are sex trafficked.

Epstein's parties were the rich man's equivalent of Rotherham grooming gangs. They found vulnerable teenage girls who they could fly out to Epstein's island to be raped by various rich men. The real scandal is that so few of these men have been charged even though some of their names are in the public domain.

And it is a bloody disgrace that a convicted groomer Maxwell's utterings are being used by some posters to claim Andrew may be innocent.

Viviennemary · 24/01/2023 15:31

I think he may go to court. I still think he was persuaded to pay up to save a court cass when the Queen was nearing the end of her life. And the money probably didn't come out of his own pocket.

OP posts:
AttentionAll · 24/01/2023 15:35

We know the Queen paid, Andrew did not have that much money to pay out. But if he goes to court he is extremely stupid. The court had ruled that his TV interview could be used as evidence. You know the one where he very obviously told a bunch of lies.

NameOchangeO1 · 24/01/2023 16:32

They are very close as you would expect. People think Andy is being kicked out of the firm - this is far from the truth. They are clearly working hard to rehabilitate his image and Fergie's. They will have a big role to play within the monarchy in the near future.

Nothing wrong with them being close as they are family. But they should make very clear to PA he can never again have a public role regardless of the outcome of any further process re VG. Andrew regularly makes appalling decisions, is frivolous ($28m in travel expenses over a decade of being "special envoy"), has got into bed with dictators, gun runners, dodgy dealers and Epstein FGS. I honestly think any attempt to rehabilitate Andrew and bring him back into the fold should mean the end of the monarchy. He should be forced to retire and live quietly within his (Charles') means or if he won't he should have his titles revoked and he can go off and grift as much as he likes.

AttentionAll · 24/01/2023 16:34

I never thought Harry and Meghan would bring down royalty. If the King is seen to be supporting Andrew in any way and not stomping on this, it might bring Charles down.

Intrepidescape · 24/01/2023 19:11

I believe her.

Also, Andrew never even paid her the money - his mother did. So basically Andrew wants money from a victim that was never even his!

He signed a settlement Deed. It doesn’t matter what happened in another case. He signed to settle & his mother paid the money to a sex trafficking victim.

It also wasn’t just one picture. Other pictures have come out of Virginia and him at a party they both attended. He consorted with Epstein - he knew Virginia. I believe everything she said.

I also believe it was Epstein’s business model to use Andrew to procure high status and very wealthy clients for Epstein.

I believe Andrew was involved in the criminal enterprise because he received goods in exchange for his services. We know about the flights he took on Epstein’s private jet - I wonder if anyone has looked at Andrew’s bank accounts because if it can be proven he accepted money then he was part of that criminal enterprise and he should be in prison.

AttentionAll · 24/01/2023 19:15

I read a quote from a top lawyer about this that said Andrew should be glad he is not in jail. If he was an ordinary person he would be.

He is basically a member of a grooming gang like the Rotherham one. Just a very rich member.

CathyorClaire · 24/01/2023 20:42

Andrew did not have that much money to pay out

He's been cited as the third richest royal.

Apart from likely trusts/bequests from extravagant but canny Granny he was brokering deals on the side throughout his decade as 'special trade envoy' and eventually trousered millions above the asking price for his unwanted derelict marital pile.

I'd love it if a forensic spotlight were to be shone on his (and Fergie's - £5m on a mews house seemingly found down the back of a sofa) finances although it will never happen.

The ski chalet purchase and sweetheart lease on Royal Lodge are, I suspect, just the tip of an extremely unsavoury iceberg.

CathyorClaire · 24/01/2023 20:48

I wonder if anyone has looked at Andrew’s bank accounts because if it can be proven he accepted money

Even if it could it will be airily waved away much like his venal daughters who apparently thought the £££thousands apparating in their bank accounts were wedding or birthday gifts.

He says that he has never had sex with anyone else during his married life. A bold statement to make and one which if it was ever could be proved to be false would be barrier to any defence that he could be required to have and one that PA palpably doesn't have !

Dershowitz is an 'interesting' character and undoubtedly a brilliant lawyer and law professor. An early case was defending the director of the ground breaking obscenity law porn movie 'Deep Throat' , he got OJ Simpson off his murder rap, was a lawyer for Epstein and part of the defence team for Weinstein and on the legal defence team for the impeachment of Donald Trump. If Andrew wanted to go legal again then he probably couldn't do better than him.

He features in this unsealed deposition reported by the Daily Beast last month and features Sarah Ransome who has gone public about her abuse by Epstein and others. It's a grim read but brings to life this whole sordid saga and why it matters and puts to rest these "slutty teenage golddiggers" type smears which seem to pop up from time to time.

The Behaviour Panel have put a You Tube video up of their take on Ghislaine Maxwell's strange prison interview with the people sent by the Jeremy Kyle Show (Talk TV) if anyone's interested. It doesn't cover all of it, but quite a bit.

Viviennemary · 25/01/2023 20:25

Now just read Daily Mail article saying that next week Andrew has a big revelation that will clear his name. It's like a soap opera. Don't miss next week's exciting episode. Still I wonder what it is.

cathyandclare · 25/01/2023 20:30

Why is he waiting, is it to toe in with the gagging clause until Mid Feb?

I'm hoping it's another interview, he and Ghislaine are so proficient at 'setting the record straight)

cathyandclare · 25/01/2023 20:30

Tie in

AutumnCrow · 25/01/2023 22:30

I believe that 'Lady Victoria Hervey' has got in on the act now. She's giving an interview to GB News at 10.40pm i.e. shortly.

I think she's an Andrew supporter? I don't think she has any evidence either way unfortunately about his alibi and other denials. It's just opinion.

JoyPeaceHealthz · 25/01/2023 22:56

Oh she's been popping up here and there to defend Andrew all along.
Very odd.
Will she benefit from that?

TooBigForMyBoots · 25/01/2023 23:15

She was on the Piers Morgan show last night where she was awful.🙈 Not sure what she's trying to do but she's probably fucking it up.

AutumnCrow · 25/01/2023 23:32

Oh dear she was awful. 'Prince Andrew doesn't read the papers' (in response to why he was still hanging out with the post-conviction Epstein at his New York house).

More please.
