This was in a yougov poll. Support for the monarchy is at an all time low amongst younger people.

She's already had two chances to say it but has declined to do so. Don't you find that suspicious? You would if it were PA.

Her allegations against PA are already on record but it now looks as though he intends to fight back through legal routes:

His problem is even if he does get the settlement overturned (and as said above, who knows what ghastly secrets court proceedings might reveal unexpectedly) his years of jollying round the globe with despots and shady business dealings may still preclude the coveted return.

He's the worst of a bad bunch! Yuk .

CathyorClaire · 22/01/2023 20:24

Andrew settling was an entirely sensible decision.

And yet here he now is apparently incurring more expense and exposing himself to all the risks outlined in an attempt to reverse the settlement 🙃

That’s a red herring. I remember a poster here a few months ago who was a lawyer. She said any decent lawyer would advise him to pay up if only to stop the legal costs ramping up on both sides. I’m intrigued by how it went with Dershowitz, she backed down and said she’d made a mistake when he stood up to her.

I’m an ex solicitor & said this. I think others did too. If I had a client in PA’s situation I would have advised a settlement on costs basis in a foreign jurisdiction. I’d have been negligent not to do so.

OMG. You're happy about something at last. 🥳

Only that the outraged excuses for the ocean-going ducking and diving not defending himself in the first place seem to have fallen over so spectacularly 🤓

Haha. A smile from you is a win. That makes,me happy. 😁

He'll never put himself in a court room so maybe these are other manoeuvres. Won't matter. Even if she backed down and exonerated him like she did with Dershowitz, too many people have a fixed, negative opinion of him. He'll never return to public life on the royal stage.

My 18-24 year olds weren’t asked so love to know how representative this is of the entire demographic.

besides that 18-24 year olds aren’t the entire country so it gives no indication that the monarchy would be voted out. A lot of young people don’t turn up to vote anyway. And people often change their minds about things as they get older and more insight into how the world works. When I was that age many of my peers were a bit anti monarchy and have since changed. A lot of them were anti religion and now avid church goers

Yougov are experts in polling - so they would make sure the 18-24 yo sample was representative of the whole age group. They don’t ask each and every person in this age group.

If you see above in the thread - there is evidence of people not becoming as conservative in their views with age now.

Are you a bit confused about how surveys and opinion polls work?

Are you a bit confused about how surveys and opinion polls work?

Are you always rude and obtuse?

I was clearly stating that any poll or survey doesn’t capture the entire opinions of everyone no matter how representative it claims to be.

I was also clearly stating that the opinion isn’t representative of the entire electorate and that young people have always rebelled against authority.

AliceOlive · 23/01/2023 18:57

I’m surprised that the H&M supporters back VG given that her attorney seems to have created or at least encouraged some vicious accusations against MM.

I know the transitive hatred game gets complicated. But VGs Attorney has besmirched and threatened MM. Doesn’t that outweigh all the other rules of who you like and dislike?
