The royal family

What should Charles and William do?

Where can the royal family go from here? What do you think Charles, Camilla, Kate and William should do?

Can they trust the Sussexes ever again? Probably not.

Where do the family go from here and how do they get there? Can this situation be resolved where everyone is happy or at least content?

Lots of people are very angry with Harry now but how do they and those who are Harry fans want the King to handle this?

I'm sorry, I don't quite follow you? Was the 'H & M haters' directed at me? I'll admit, I was quite anti them after the interview, but then I realised that I don't know what happened - I don't hate them, I'm just frustrated by their vague hints and backtracking.

Charles talked about slimming down the monarchy long before Meghan came on the scene, so it's not ridiculous to assume that this was more along those lines. Also, the couple said they wanted to modern and their children didn't need titles - which is it? Of course, those who think they're lying aren't now saying 'Oh, they were telling the truth about racism' - but what they were describing was racist by most people's definition - if true.

I think this is what undermines M&H the most. The lack of coherence or sense from their supporters.

This is me, I certainly don’t hate them, but find them extremely frustrating.

They could have gone about it in such a different way, and retained the support lots gave them when they first wanted to leave.
When they announced they were leaving, my first thought was ‘I don’t blame them’ and I’m sure I’m not alone.

But all this ‘the press will never stop, when we left we tried to be quiet but they hounded us for two years’
It’s like he forgot we all knew there was a tell all interview with Oprah on the go, and people were continuously speculating what was going to be in it
Same with NF and the book.

Hes acting like people only found out he was writing a book this week, and that it hasn’t been what has kept the interest going since they moved….

If I was C&W I would stay silent and completely freeze them out. Harry and Meghan look more unstable and vindictive the longer they sell their relatives out for cash.

I think a lot of the public anger is bafflement. They were very popular, despite the rather sensationalised stories of rows over bridesmaids' dresses and avocadoes. When they left, it was soemthing like 'Well, it's their life. Whatever makes them happy. And we're kind of busy with a pandemic at the moment'. Then the whole 'telling our story' saga began - it's like they can't let go and actually build a new life for themselves. Harry's still obsessed with 'fixing' the Royal family, which isn't his job. He's got his own family.

Must admit, though. I'm finding the whole GB news approach quite cringe-worthy too. Can't decide what's more toe-curling, Harry being 'ridden' in a field behind a pub, or Dan Wooton going on about 'Harry the traitor'. I'm sure being British wasn't this embarassing ten years ago!

And he employed paps to take photos of himself and Meghan working at charities, having dinner out, etc and releasing them to the press.
And there was a freedom of information act request to the LA police and it showed that Harry and Meghan had leaked info to the press. And their communications officer said they'd leaked information.
So they're interested in keeping themselves in the news and aren't bothered about using the media to do it.

Woah. @MarshaMelrose where can we read about that FOIA?

They might think that the British media are the scum of the earth (not like the lovely US media - what a lovely country 🙄). However, they never had the skills or maturity to build up a productive working relationship with them, such that the media would work in their favour. It is not easy but W&K managed it and they could have done.
Instead, Meghan started leaking to Omid, trashy US and Canadian publications/gossip sites early on. Ghosting Piers Morgan probably never helped either.
The problem is that when you are not a likeable person (as is her problem) then these processes may prove really challenging. For the two racists whom she called out, there were hundreds of journalists ready to build them up to the rockstar status they desired. There was good PR behind Harry most of his life. He didn't just rock up with Meghan and become popular overnight. They confused the beginning of a long process of acquiring and cementing popularity with an instant end result which rapidly backfired.

Shelefttheweb · 16/01/2023 17:41

If they meet, they should do so in public or with open access filming, so every minute of their interact is immediately made public and on record. That is the only way they can be sure Harry won’t use it to sell more books.

And the journalist who wrote the cringey 'exotic DNA' comment, did so in a glowing article about how beautiful and marvellously modernising Meghan was. She's since apologised on TV, and committed to being more sensitive around race issues in the future. There was quite a lot of flexibility there. Journalists and newspapers know they need to keep up with the times, and at the beginning she was the face of the future. Could have gone either way.

What? Like a posh version of the Jeremy Kyle show, could go the whole hog and get him to present it.

Get your trackies on guys!

😂😂 I was thinking a more refined and probably somewhat strained formal shaking of hands and small talk bit like when Charles meets dignitaries when he visits a small town. But Jeremy Kyle would be more interesting.

Not Jeremy Kyle. It has to be Trisha!

Can you imagine the ratings for them all appearing on a one off special?

Meghan storming off and crying in the wings only to come back on again and go straight for Kate and yanking her out of the chair! Willy grabbing Kate’s arms behind her back to stop her from retaliating!

Hair extensions flying everywhere and the live audience laughing like mad!

A paternity test for Harold.

Camilla and Charles quarrelling after Camilla says her side of the family don’t cause any grief.

Trisha being very serious and telling them all off!
