Things Harry has never done

So Hazza laments that he “almost never carried money, never owned a car, never carried a house key, never once ordered anything online, never received a single box from Amazon, almost never travelled on the Underground” etc etc

Which got me to wondering what other everyday pleasures he’s missed out on - off the top of my head the list could include:

  • lost an afternoon on hold to a call centre
  • attempted to give stuff away on Freecycle/FB
  • tracked down the doorstep in the photo where your parcel’s been delivered
  • been on a rail replacement bus service
  • tried to cancel a gym membership

Any more? (lighthearted, of course)

Wanted for a doctor surgery to answer while listening to dodgy music

Dealt with virgin media disconnection department

Dealt with BT disconnection department (three "final" bills later they STILL didn't understand I MOVED HOUSE)

cleaned up cat sick

Scrubbed blood stains out of a skirt (maybe)

Had M&S light up tins with biscuits in as a treat for Christmas

Why does this matter so much to you? A more valuable use of your time would be to consider the lot of the underpaid and undervalued in the UK. Turn your anger on the Tories, our billionaire PM, the former blonde playboy billionaire PM who's plotting his comeback, Rees Mogg and others like him who are pocketing millions and hiding their money offshore. What are you going to do about that? The hate campaign about Harry is a sickening distraction and a waste of time.

Signed on the dole
used a foodbank

Did you miss the lighthearted part? Why take things so serious relax your ass go shit on someone else

Waited at a bus stop in the rain and the dark after a long day's work, knowing the bus may or may not turn up anytime soon, knowing that you need to preapre and cook tea as soon as you get in and then start prepping for the next day (which will be a repeat of the previous day).

Mumoftwoinprimary · 13/01/2023 17:52

Turned the heating down because he is worried about the bill.

Talked sense.

SleepingisanArt · 13/01/2023 18:13

Change a tyre
Fill the washer bottle for the windscreen wipers
Wait for the AA (car not alcohol)
Sit in a traffic jam
Wait for assistance due to 'unexpected item in the bagging area'

Craghopper1 · 13/01/2023 18:15

I bet he's never done the speed pack in Aldi. Or browsed the delights of their middle aisle!

Tamarindtree · 13/01/2023 18:16

Engaged his brain.

PetitPorpoise · 13/01/2023 18:18

Queued in the freezing pissing rain in the taxi rank, clutching a pizza box and hoping the drunks further down don't start fighting.

Blossomtoes · 13/01/2023 18:20

Anything he didn’t want to.

jtaeapa · 13/01/2023 18:21

Sat in A&E?

ChessieFL · 13/01/2023 18:22

Had to create a meal from a bit of old cheese and a tin of rice pudding because Tesco didn’t deliver his grocery order.

onlylarkin · 13/01/2023 18:22

Harry never lived.

I believe that every normal thing we do day to day is living. Some days it sucks, others it's great but when we look back every experience, good and bad, makes us who we are today. The stories we tell about stupid stuff we did when young may make us laugh or cringe as we get older, but they still form is.

I don't blame him really, to want a life different than what he had. So many people see his life as one of great privilege, but no amount of money can replace a Grandmothers hug or having a mother see you grown up.

SolitudeNotLoneliness · 13/01/2023 18:24

Had to find a parking spot down the road due to Citifibre digging up it up.

Dragged the bins out.

Had to ring in sick when not sick and tried to sound sick. That is very tricky.

notanicepersonapparently · 13/01/2023 18:25

Tried on clothes in a shop.

Ylvamoon · 13/01/2023 18:28
  • Worked hard at school, because your grades do matter and will most likely define your future earnings and lifestyle.
  • done some serious job hunting in a climate where all they offer is NMW in exchange for years of experience in a specific industry eg care work!
  • Done 12 hour shifts ....
Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 13/01/2023 18:28

Hang on, I thought he and Megs bought stuff from IKEA ( although he thinks that was a disgraceful insult to his status) online. I certainly don’t believe they traipsed about in person, getting trapped in the kitchen drawer display like most of us, cos ‘security’.

Also, didn’t they lock NC when it was empty? As it was detached and had a private entry, surely it wasn’t just open for random visitors. Does he mean he had the key tied round his neck , like my mother used to do for her friend who was a bit ‘absent minded’ (Alzheimer’s). Did it get tangled up in the ‘necklace’?

Why don’t I just go and get on with the dinner, instead of giving this halfwit anymore headspace?

BelenaConhamHarter · 13/01/2023 18:30

Cleaned sick out of the back of the car

Switched electricity supplier and argued the toss about the initial meter reading for months on end

Had difficulty arranging short term child care

EthicalNonMahogany · 13/01/2023 18:30

Had to fish a coin and some other bits out of the draining thing of the washing machine. Then had to hairdryer his shirt so he could wear it to work.
