Things Harry has never done

So Hazza laments that he “almost never carried money, never owned a car, never carried a house key, never once ordered anything online, never received a single box from Amazon, almost never travelled on the Underground” etc etc

Which got me to wondering what other everyday pleasures he’s missed out on - off the top of my head the list could include:

  • lost an afternoon on hold to a call centre
  • attempted to give stuff away on Freecycle/FB
  • tracked down the doorstep in the photo where your parcel’s been delivered
  • been on a rail replacement bus service
  • tried to cancel a gym membership

Any more? (lighthearted, of course)

Questioned the fact his wife is estranged from nearly all her family and previous friends

Questioned the fact that he is also now estranged from his family and all his friends.

It's a mystery!

Why does this matter so much to you? A more valuable use of your time would be to consider the lot of the underpaid and undervalued in the UK. Turn your anger on the Tories, our billionaire PM, the former blonde playboy billionaire PM who's plotting his comeback, Rees Mogg and others like him who are pocketing millions and hiding their money offshore. What are you going to do about that? The hate campaign about Harry is a sickening distraction and a waste of time.

Bring on the revolution baby 😂😂😂😂🤣

DatasCat · 13/01/2023 23:31

I bet he's never done the speed pack in Aldi.

For a minute I was wondering what Aldi had in their Specials aisle…🤣🤣🤣

Rang the wrong door buzzer at 3am pissed after a night out and his woke up 80 year old neighbour who came out in her nightie to see what the fuck was going on

thisismylittlebrotherGeorge · 13/01/2023 23:37

Tried to cancel Sky.

EpicChaos · 13/01/2023 23:39

Never...
Grew up!
Been in the least bit grateful for any of the good things in his life!
Treat anyone else with a modicum of respect!
Worried about looking like a humungous hypocrite!

Hunted round all the shops at Xmas to make sure he had presents for all his friends.
Never played bingo in a seaside amusement arcade.

I agree with you, @onlylarkin

I suspect he's never had the experience of having a tip of a room, sleeping in an unmade bed, or doing his own laundry. So - lack of personal privacy.

He describes Nott Cott pre-Meghan as “like a frat house”, which suggests he didn’t both tidying up or cleaning. Probably didn’t change his bed that often either. But it only takes about 2 seconds to “make” a bed with a duvet, all you have to do is give it a shake.

during his time in the army, he would definitely have had to keep his room spick and span.

and he talks about hanging his laundry on the radiators in Nott Cott to dry. So he clearly did do his own washing. It’s hardly an onerous task. Even Harry is capable of sticking clothes in a machine.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 13/01/2023 23:42

I always wonder how their PA can sort the utility bills. Dh set ours up when we moved in and most of them demand dh’s permission before speaking to me so I don’t know how an employee can sort this stuff without saying “hang on, I’ll get my boss on the line to confirm… your highness, can you just tell the guy on the phone you give permission?”

TrashyPanda · 13/01/2023 23:43

Harry has never had to

Retrieve a cat that has fallen down the back of a tall corner unit.

dispose of the headless corpses of birds in the garden, thanks to the same cat.

clean up after a drunken partner pissed in the wardrobe

I am pretty sure there was cleaning staff. Unless he took the notion he has never had to consider getting the hoover out once in his life.

Actually on that I’ve a new addition, never scrubbed a toilet.

Harry’s name will never have been on any bill before his exit. It would have been a security risk apart from anything else.

Searched the house for a £1 to go in the tv

Spent nights awake thinking how your going to pay the bills despite working your butt off

Stressed you won't pass your exams because your haves studied because you've been working when in high school so you can help with the bills so your mum can afford to keep the house

Wrecked an item of clothing when out playing and have that overwhelming feeling of guilt that you have ruined something and your parents are going to kill you

Desperate to text your friend something but thinking is it worthy of that that 10p that text is going to cost

Shared bath water with family members.... eewwww

Saved lunch money up for weeks so you can go to the park on Friday night with your friends and buy a pack of cigs and cider

Fight with your sibling over who's turn it is to choose the tv programme

Omg so much of your post resonated but this ‘Wrecked an item of clothing when out playing and have that overwhelming feeling of guilt that you have ruined something and your parents are going to kill you’ took me right back

Lol I am reliving a pair of brand new ruined shoes, more wine please!!!!

Anthillmobontherun · 13/01/2023 23:59

It's funny actually, I was painting a bedroom wall once and feeling quite satisfied with my work and it occured to me that Princess Diana would never have had the simple satisfaction of doing something mundane for herself and how it's the little, totally unremarkable things in life that add up to make it a content one.

OutDamnedSpot · 14/01/2023 00:01

Paired socks.

revised for an exam.

requested a PAC code for a phone.

used a public library.

Plus do they even have surnames or how does that work? Like what does it say on their passports?

Muswellhiller · 14/01/2023 01:13

These are awesome, and lots are very touching. I actually do think he’s had to do lots he’d not choose to - and often in public, but always with a massive safety net.

Particularly love this: Retrieve a cat that has fallen down the back of a tall corner unit.

”Jeeves! Can you come and sort this out…”
