Will Harry go to the Coronation

Not sure. He was asked this at the interview. He didnt give an answer either way.I got the impression he wanted an apology first or at least a discussion on his grievances. Charles has said he is invited. But several papers yesterday had articles saying he will be invited but is expected not to come. Can't really expect all this news and people not to wonder.

I also read if he goes he won't have an active role. It's usual for all the Dukes to kneel before the new monarch and swear loyalty but only William will be doing this apparently.

@EdithWeston and @Blossomtoes I agree

MonsoonMadness · 11/01/2023 16:15

No they won't. No way in hell. They will release lots of photos of Archie's birthday celebrations with Doria either on the day of the coronation or the day after. I would bet money on this.

WakeyWakeyRiseandShine · 11/01/2023 16:26

I hope Charles finds some balls and does not invite them and publicly states that. The coronation is for the public. Harold is not a member of the institution and has no place being there. Charles can invite him for a private celebration but he should not be publicly on view during it nor should the taxpayer be funding protection for him if he’s over here on so called official business. Just by crowing over his kills in Afghanistan he’s made it a massive terrorist target.

Harold has tried to make the institution of the RF and therefore the UK, a global laughing stock. Telling everyone that the King has a teddy bear, his wife is dangerous and the future King is circumcised for public entertainment.

Charles will make himself look like an absolute fool if he gives Harold a chance to make demands (that he will make public) in return for coming. Harold made his bed, he should lie in it,

Did Charles change the ceremony so that only William has to swear allegiance to him to make it easier for Harry if he does attend?

I’d say it would be more to do with the ages of some of the royal Dukes. The Duke of Kent in particular is very frail and would not be able to kneel.

And also solves the potential Andrew issue.

Orangefir · 11/01/2023 16:36

Not sure if he will be invited.

Not sure if he will go but it would be interesting to see the crowds reaction to him

It's not up to Charles though is it? I'm sure he'll have a say but it will be decided by a committee.

Totally agree that they should not be invited. They are making a living by slagging off the monarchy and the head of state, which is no small thing. But at the same time he is the king's son and I'm not sure how he could not be invited. But I guess this is sort of an unprecedented situation and anything is possible.

bakalava · 11/01/2023 16:41

There are more books to write and more interviews to give so logically, yes. However, Harry will need a safe space and a personal bodyguard to protect him from any assaults by William 😂

ThighMistress · 11/01/2023 16:41

I mean current Supporters.

I think most of us - contrary to the claims of H&M diehards - did support H&M at the beginning. I even thought good luck to them Finding Freedom. But this has all gone far too far now. I do not know whether Harry is mad, incredibly greedy or both, but whatever I can’t fathom how some people can look at what he’s written (even in context!) and think he’s this utterly blameless decent person.

Charlize43 · 11/01/2023 16:47

Won't it be uncomfortable for everyone after the 'potshots' her made of Camilla being 'dangerous' and leaking stories to the press?

Charlize43 · 11/01/2023 16:48

He made - not her! This is the second time I've misgendered him!!!

Trinidading3 · 11/01/2023 16:48

I'm sure William will do his up most to make sure he is not invited and will probably want to duff him up a second time, but regardless of all the book revalations, King Charles loves him to bits and will want Harry there ....it will also be an olive branch from Charles for all the upset in the past and we all know Charles is a "hippy" so and will reach out to Harry..... interesting times huh? Let's see what happens.....📚

Mumsnut · 11/01/2023 16:51

It will massively ramp up the stress on others if he comes.

In fact, if I were Kate, I'd be saying 'Him or me'.

bakalava · 11/01/2023 16:54

I'll be watching William as he becomes enveloped in the rising, red mist. poor William, he is a bit intense and rubbish at being the tough guy but these revelations have shown him to be principled and fundamentally in possession of a good heart.

BasiliskStare · 11/01/2023 16:59

I think Charles has reached out many Olive branches - not so much being a hippy but Harry is his son - he will invite him I am sure and I hope he does - because inter alia if he does not H will use it as a slight. I am sure H&M might find a reason not to go eg paying their security when H has upped the Anti. & expecting the taxpayer to pay for him or expecting the Met police to make people available when he says he will pay is just a bit rubbish - the police have better things to do and are not for site as has been said before . But I am sure there would be a way of Charles to collect them from the airport - get them onto RF property & get them into the Coronation , in a very minor place . I do think they need they be removed from anything they can use about the RF now. They have told their stories . Now they should get on with earning money in their own right.

What about an olive branch from Harry for all the upset, not just in the past but now?

I don't think Charles is the soft touch you are making him out to be. He's been waiting all his life to be king and is not going to let his fool of a son ruin it all. He may have no choice but to invite Harry, but he will have no official role and the reception will be glacial, both from the family and the country as a whole.

EdithWeston · 11/01/2023 16:07

I'm not sure there's a tidy category of "supporters"

It's totally possibly to have loved the wedding, welcomed the addition to the family, supported the general idea of stepping down, wished them well, agreed about tabloid conduct - but still be aghast at much of what he's making public now

Exactly the category I fit into. Also think he's a total know now.

Yes I'm the same. I think somebody who could do all this to his family must be a horrible person, and must have always been, we're just seeing the real Harry now.

That's why he needed his security!

milveycrohn · 11/01/2023 17:16

I expect he'll be invited, but I doubt he'll go.
He'll blame security issues.

londonmummy1966 · 11/01/2023 18:06

If he did go can you imagine how many conversations about the weather he will put up with on the grounds that it is the only topic the other members of the RF are likely to want to discuss when H&M are in earshot.

smileladiesplease · 11/01/2023 18:18

I don't think even they would be brazen enough to show up! I think they would get a very frosty reception from the general public and who out of the family would talk to them to see if printed to the world later.

Horrible couple

smileladiesplease · 11/01/2023 18:19

Yes he will blame the British press for his own idiotic remarks about the taliban and bleat he's a target through no fault of his own. Recurring theme

BasiliskStare · 11/01/2023 18:26

@smileladiesplease - I have never been a member of the military but some senior members and some more junior members have criticised Harry for his comments - he said apparently he spoke out so that those with PTSD and contemplating suicide would not & thinks his coments have been given a "spin". Well they were his words / Well Apparently a MH Nurse who spent 25 years in the military has said they have had more people being in contact and they are gearing up for it - by which I inferred - his comments haven't helped many apart from him & his book sales.

Orangefir · 11/01/2023 18:32

Actually isn’t it Archie’s birthday, on the day of the coronation? That will be their excuse

ChicCroissant · 11/01/2023 18:33

My prediction is that they will get an invite, come over and stay in Frogmore but not attend the ceremony.
