Will Harry go to the Coronation

Not sure. He was asked this at the interview. He didnt give an answer either way.I got the impression he wanted an apology first or at least a discussion on his grievances. Charles has said he is invited. But several papers yesterday had articles saying he will be invited but is expected not to come. Can't really expect all this news and people not to wonder.

I also read if he goes he won't have an active role. It's usual for all the Dukes to kneel before the new monarch and swear loyalty but only William will be doing this apparently.

If they’re invited (they shouldn’t be IMO) then they’ll go. They both love the attention they’re getting. I don’t think they even care that some is negative, they just love that they’re getting headlines and making money. Harry paints himself as such a victim, he will find a way to make the coronation all about himself.

I'm not sure anyone else would want it after seeing them snog for the cameras on the kitchen cabinetry, arses perched on the worktops. I hope Eugenie got the surfaces sanitised before preparing food there.

I don't think 'Not Cot' was the house in the b&w photos?

lisalash · 11/01/2023 14:43

I'm not sure but can you imagine how awkward it's going to be if he does? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mumsnut · 11/01/2023 14:44

Maybe he's waiting to see if someone offers him £££ as a commentator?

No, Frog Cottage. Eugenie lived there for a time after the Harkles found freedom.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 11/01/2023 14:47

Placards might be useful.

'Neigh Harry, Neigh!' People would have a field day (no pun intended).

I hope he doesn't come to the coronation. The book is out, the NF doc has gone, hopefully all interviews are done, maybe now they'll (hopefully) just live quietly in Montecito and never come back to the UK.

Yeah, that's a good point. I fear it would look petty if Charles was to evict them from the only home Harry has in the UK though and he's hardly going to be welcome to stay with any of his relatives. I think I'd be inclined to let them keep their modest home in Windsor, if I were him.

I'd give him back Nott Cott. Grin

Moest?

It's got 9 or 10 bedrooms!

BasiliskStare · 11/01/2023 15:03

@KatesLipGloss - I agree - that house has 10 bedrooms - within windsor park - it looks lovely - Others have a different idea to modest that have I . If they are saying they will not likely come back to the UK then I am sure a couple of rooms somewhere or Nottingham Cottage could be made available for them if they ever come back briefly & then Frogmore or can be used more usefully. They RF I believe did let out Anmer and previously Frogmore Cottage.

TheRedLip · 11/01/2023 15:11

I think they will definitely come in order to record yet more perceived snubs and insults. Not a chance they will bring Archie and Lilibet though because they won't risk them being on British soil. On British soil they are subject to King Charles insisting they stay in the UK and I think he has the power to enforce that?

I don't there is the remotest chance that the King would try to assert rights over the Sussex DC.

Only if something frightful happened to the Wales family would they need to be prepared for life as senior Royals

If they came over, it could have been a wonderful birthday for Archie - in a palace with all his cousins (perhaps with his maternal grandmother there so there's a familiar adult) whilst the adults go to the palace, then first appearance on the balcony. And later in the day his own birthday party with all the other royal DC (perhaps at Frogmore). Plus a separate US birthday party when they got back

I don't think it could work like that now, unfortunately

I do think the family will be invited. We'll have to wait and see if they come

BMW6 · 11/01/2023 14:10

Well I hope any crowd dissent is specific- "Fuck Off Harry/Meghan you wankers" instead of general booing, because they'll be with other Royals and I wouldn't want them to take it to heart as meant for them.

Placards might be useful.

Great idea re the placards! 😂

BasiliskStare · 11/01/2023 15:44

@TheRedLip - I agree with @WinnieTheW0rm - I do not think there is a way in the world that Charles would keep his grandchildren in the UK . In as far as he can I think he has tried to keep all options open for Harry - why would he ( apart from more family upset ) try to keep A & Lily in the country - they are irrelevant to the succession & I think he would think they are better off with their parents .

TheRedLip · 11/01/2023 15:46

I would be shocked if KC did try and keep Archie and Lilibet in the UK, but I think he does have that power? I'm just thinking ahead to when they divorce and I will be amazed if Meghan allows them to come to the UK.

TheRedLip · 11/01/2023 15:48

Sorry I meant to add that if they divorce and Meghan makes it very hard for Harry to see his children whether Charles would try and enforce his authority.

Inkanta · 11/01/2023 15:55

I think if Harry is to move on he will need to make the coronation and royal life more insignificant.

Yes he does

Monarch has legal custody of all their DC and DGC

Started with George I, because of difficulties with his son (the future George II) so had a law passed giving him custody. No-one's ever got round to either repealing or amending it

BasiliskStare · 11/01/2023 15:56

Peronally I do not think for one moment KC would try to keep A&L in the UK - just don't believe it. I suspect the greater arguments will be from H about his family's security ( which perhaps he should have thought about before his book & "his truth" ) & He might like to think about those military people who consider his remarks , inappropriate . Frankly I would ban him from the Invictus Games for his self centred and thoughtless comments but not my choice & I don't know as well as others.

BadgerB · 11/01/2023 15:57

They need to check on the Ikea sofa...

jays · 11/01/2023 15:59

I’m far more disgusted by the fact that Camilla will be there.

ThighMistress · 11/01/2023 16:03

Do Supporters want H&M to attend?

LadyKenya · 11/01/2023 16:05

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 11/01/2023 14:03

Hope not. Lordy, can you imagine the reception they'll get from the general public?!

Thankfully the general public do not all think the same way, despite what the papers may convince you.

EdithWeston · 11/01/2023 16:07

I'm not sure there's a tidy category of "supporters"

It's totally possibly to have loved the wedding, welcomed the addition to the family, supported the general idea of stepping down, wished them well, agreed about tabloid conduct - but still be aghast at much of what he's making public now

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 11/01/2023 15:43

You would hope that people would not be so crass. But perhaps not, judging by some of the posts on here.

BasiliskStare · 11/01/2023 16:11

@ThighMistress I used to be completely Anti Monarchy - as I have got older and seen what the late Queen did - I can see a place for them - I do see a place for a very much slimmed down monarchy.

So to answer your question I think they H&M should be invited - I think it would be unkind of KC not invite his youngest son and his family I bet he will invite them . I do think as they are not working royals they should be very much in the background. & I would like to H come to support his father and accept any place he was given ( & his family). That could perhaps be his "olive branch" ( assuming no camera's etc for Netflix etc )

That’s very true. It’s where I am now.
