To think Harry is really ill based on recent comments he's made?

OhMonDieux · 11/01/2023 10:47

I'm thinking of how he accuses the media of putting a spin on his comments about killing 25 men.

He says it's been taken out of context.
Does he even know what that means?

If the lines we read were quoted directly from the book, where is the spin? Yes, it may have been part of a bigger picture of (as he alludes to) helping soldiers overcome PTSD .

BUT he still gave a 'body count' and spoke of them as chess pieces (all of which the Army has said is not how they teach soldiers to think.)

Even if- and it's a big 'if' - the intention was good behind relating his war experiences, someone ought to have edited the book. He should have had advice from the military, rather than relying on a ghost writer.

He appears to be in complete denial about anything he does and the fault is always someone else's.

So sad, really, and how his father is coping I have no idea.

I think the 'really ill' royal is Prince Andrew surely. Do you think he has had counselling? Tried to change? Owned up to his issues?
He single handedly turned the Royal Family in to a laughing stock and in her last year of life his mum had to strip him of his titles and pay £12million to make the allegations go away. What on earth did that do to her mental and physical health? She was a wise and canny lady, presumably she knew that she was confessing to the world that her second son had done something illegal and highly disgusting.
I would argue Prince Charles is pretty ill too if he self identifies as a tampon.

What illness makes you shag trafficked adolescents? He's not ill, he's an arsehole.

@CoffeandTiaMaria

is she? Makes sense

They will milk this for at least the next ten years because when the Cambridge kids become adults the press attention will switch to them. So they know they are on this time limit. Plus in ten years, they will be 50. They ain’t gona get the same attention. They will no longer be the young people in love, despite all odds narrative.
Plus he will have a nice shiny bald patch to match wills.

Blossomtoes · 11/01/2023 18:36

I think the world will be very bored with them very soon. The interest certainly won’t last ten years. Another book should do it.

Orangefir · 11/01/2023 18:46

God I hope so but just have a bad feeling it won’t end

bakalava · 11/01/2023 18:48

If they run out of content then we will probably get The Bench Part 2, The Bench Part 3 .....

I get he may be joking on this on the below, but this passage is really messed up - particularly when he says 'on my orders', like some weird power trip about not killing his father.

I think it proves he has been dangerous/mentally unstable for quite some time.

Bloody hell. He finds it amusing that he was directing a member of the armed forces to commit treason.

I feel I must have misunderstood this. What actually happened?

'H' has had a lifetime of being protected from the worst negative consequences of his own actions. He seems sincere, raw and woefully naive. Does he really not understand the risk he has created for RF, the Army, his own children? It's staggering really, worrying for his own mental health, concerning for Meghan. However much she irritates with the celeb worthy, self awareness Olympics, it would be shameful for anything to happen to her and the children because of his incredibly ill thought out actions. All seems designed to rub his brothers nose in it. He has not survived too well out of the RF protection. He had a crazy, distanced upbringing full of sadness. Diana was unstable and every visit was a photo opportunity. What a mess.

I do sometimes wonder how much his problems are down to idea that Diana was a perfect mother, which I strongly suspect was not the case.

For a start she seemed to spend a lot of time jet setting with lovers without her children. Obviously a divorced woman is entitled to a love life, but I don't think most would allow it to take them so far from their children so frequently.

The media accused him of boasting I thought which I don't think he did.
Ill advised to state numbers but he's not like we though he was knitting!

I've just read this extract.

I can't fathom it out.

So H says that he was messing about on a quad bike. And a typhoon appeared in the sky.

His father, Charles, thought it might be H in the Typhoon as it was flying low over Highgrove. ) Hmm- as if- just out for a jaunt?

So C went over to see H and found him on his quad bike talking to the RAF pilot in his Typhoon.

Really?

Please tell me how someone on the ground (off duty and on a quad bike) can talk to a Typhoon pilot who's flying in the area.

Because that's how it reads.

You can “talk to” jets from the ground in the field, my brother is in the army and did it on a secondment for American jets, I’m not exactly sure of exactly how it works though. I very much doubt my brother would do it while “messing about” on a quad bike though! And if our dad was in the area I’m sure he wouldn’t think “oh that must be [ DB ]” and jump in his car and magically find him either.

I don't have any time for Harry's nonsense but, come on, this was obviously a silly joke. Almost any joke can be overthought into outrage!

So did the typhoon not pass so low over the car that the windows almost blew out then?

Fabfam · 11/01/2023 20:49

It certainly doesn’t take an expert to work out that Harry has serious MH problems and it is shocking that so many people have exploited his poor mental state !
Genuinely think that the RF have tried to help him but unfortunately the ‘Weed’ has exacerbated his paranoia and judgement.
Not sure what the outcome will be but fear the world is watching a slow car crash and history will repeat itself.
I don’t think that all the shitty comments on social media and general media outlets is helping the situation or the outcome.

How are windows "almost" blown out? Surely they are or they aren't.

Dunno, ask Harry.

Firefly1987 · 11/01/2023 22:20

He has a problem with the media describing it as "boasting" about how many people he's killed-I don't remember the media saying that, it sounded bad enough already but of course he'd spin it to blame the media for his own words.

Says he put it in their to reduce the number of suicides. I'm not sure who he consulted on such a serious subject. Americans seem to be lapping it up though.

Quirrelsotherface · 11/01/2023 22:23

Agree totally with the original point. He said on the Late show that if he's in more danger 'that was their choice' or words to that effect, meaning the press!

The man is deluded and I find it disturbing to watch someone who clearly has MH issues unravel in public like this.

KiwiMum2023 · 11/01/2023 22:24

I’m not a huge fan, no real opinion on him one way or another, but having read the book I have a lot more sympathy for him.

AdventFridgeOfShame · 11/01/2023 22:24

The Late Show interview was interesting. He comes across much better after two tequilas. The big smile near the end where he admitted to fact checking "the Windsors" was probably the most genuine emotion I have seen from him.

misssparkly · 11/01/2023 22:33

First of all I'm a bit disappointed Harry didn't write the book himself. I've read a lot of autobiographies over the years. Not all of them were well written but they are far more interesting if someone writes one themselves.

Obviously Harry feels very badly done by and wants to get his side of the story out. I'm not sure if he is mentally ill but I think he should have just had some counselling and got on with things quietly.

Coffeecreme · 11/01/2023 22:43

The Crown @AdventFridgeOfShame
ha ha
that is what he fact checked

Extraordinary that not only does the woman closest to him get blamed for what people deem as his bad behaviour, so too does his deceased mother with a nice dollop of shaming her for her love life. How depressing.

Posted to soon. In short, for so many people, when they disagree with a man's behaviour it's always, always a woman's fault.
