Some serious questions were at last asked by the interviewer - he did a better job in ten minutes than any other has done in 90, but Harry is so brainwashed he somehow manages to bat them away? He really cannot see any wrongdoing on his part.

I am buying the book because I'm seriously interested to hear these 'examples' of leaks.

When he was talking about the bridesmaids dress thing he said "for historical reference, the truth needs to be there".

I really hope that in decades and centuries to come historians are not talking about the infamous bridesmaids' dress fitting of 2018.

confusedcentral5 · 09/01/2023 23:46

@BraveGoldie agree with you.

AuroraCake · 09/01/2023 23:49

Quick underground. It’s been 30 years.

The irony is he wasn’t in the room when it happened.

So his “testimony” is not a legitimate historical source / evidence.

Ticketyboots · 09/01/2023 23:59

If he wanted to make a substantive contribution to improving press standards then he needs more rigour and disciple in his approach.

He could start by documenting what media coverage he believes is:

  1. pack of lies make up by solely by tabloids - based on zero truth.
  2. pack of lies made up by the RF and planted in the media
  3. truthful negative stories leaked by RF
  4. naming the accompanying scandal that 2 & 3 are hiding.

Spend some of his $$$$$$ hiring an investigation team to pull together a convincing evidenced based case.

Or even do a Rooney and pull together a set up.

Rather than spinning around like an emotional Catherine Wheel blaming anyone and everyone incoherently.

His testimony has been fed to him by Meghan. She’s the puppeteer in the background telling him what to put out there. Why else would he be spending so much time ranting about the bridesmaid thing? It’s not his circus, but he seems to know the tiniest detail about the whole saga.

ItWasDobbinAtTheMareAndSpare · 10/01/2023 00:10

Why would he be briefing Omid Scobie when he’s about to do a live interview? I bet Camilla wishes she could retreat now too but 🤷‍♀️

Good spot.

Flying monkey comes to mind - maybe she doesn’t want to get her hands dirty and winds him up (can’t be hard let’s face it) to do the talking.

I was quite struck by the 180 change in MM persona from the OW interview and NF. The tone, mood, look, delivery, etc was so different IMHO between these two interviews. I think she took on board that the her stance on the OW interview wasn’t a good look.

Sep200024 · 10/01/2023 00:26

I’m imagining a long answer exam question on a 2073 GCSE History paper.

”Would the testimony of Prince Harry be considered reliable or unreliable evidence in determining the events of The Great Bridesmaid Dress Fitting in 2018?”

lohasmohas · 10/01/2023 00:27

BOOK 1: How Harry was destroyed by Royal family

BOOK 2: How Meghan SAVED HARRY

BOOK 3: TELL. ALL ABOUT THE KIDS

Ticketyboots · 10/01/2023 00:28

Are they actually contracted to deliver 4 volumes….?

SpookyBlackCat · 10/01/2023 00:30

He doesn’t seem to have considered the possibility that both women were upset and cried and it is ridiculous to demand that KP issue a statement over a minor spat about dresses.

The Colbert interview will be interesting. He is not a fan of the royal family but he can be quite sharp-tongued with guests. I was surprised that Harry agreed to go on the show.

Womencanlift · 09/01/2023 22:43

Just watched the 60 minutes with Anderson Cooper - or actually 28 minutes as it was on the itv hub

There is definitely compassion for a young boy who lost his mum and then for years still told himself that she was still alive and was hiding from the press. He has a lot of demons that he needs to work through. The army gave him the structure and normality he needed but when he came out of the army I think he had lasting trauma from his mum and further trauma from the army (as many ex service people do). Would things have been different if he stayed? It seemed to give him a purpose other than “the spare”

I think he genuinely needs help and his family know that. However in their own very English aristocracy way they have been probably ignoring that and telling him to keep that stiff upper lip going which is very sad

I do think Camilla has been very close with the press, just look at her lunch with Clarkson days before that column, but sounds like all the offices are as bad as each other and overall it’s just very dysfunctional

Honestly I don’t think he will ever get the peace he says he wants

No, he won't if he can't stop stirring things up every time he opens his mouth.🤐

Quite likely. It’s dawned on him that a live interview might not be so easy.

SirVixofVixHall · 10/01/2023 00:47

I tried to watch it, but after a while I found the constant upwards inflection at the end of every sentence so aggravating that I had to stop. That and the rubbish he was saying. Very spiteful about Camilla.
Surely there is a point when you just want to see your elderly father happy ? KC does seem to have a happy second marriage, he loves his wife and she loves him. Harry is forty next year, he isn’t a teenager. His parents’ marriage wasn’t a happy one, and there was blame on both sides. Fine, in private, to moan about his step mother if he doesn’t like her, but to behave like this is so destructive and cruel. It is a horrible way to treat his father. There are some things it is impossible to come back from, he doesn’t seem to grasp any of this.
I read on one thread that Meghan wore Princess Diana’s scent, if that is rue it is just bizarre, but Harry does seem to have completely idealised his mother, and talks about Meghan in a similar way, as though he sees them almost as the same person. Easier maybe to canonise the parent no longer living, while the (only human) living parent and sibling become the ones you blame for everything.

Bluekerfuffle · 10/01/2023 00:43

Agree.

He was twitchy, sniffy, jumpy and fractious with controlled interviews where he knew the questions ahead and the interviewers had agreed to no go areas - all recorded before the leaks and the humiliation since.

He hasn’t expected this backlash and he will be even more agitated.

A bit of blurb about The Late Show:

Stephen Colbert brings his signature satire and comedy to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the #1 show in late night,

V different tone / set up from any of the other interviews. This is live and post launch - expect he was hoping to be triumphant.

He might use the flood evacuation in Monteceito to excuse himself……

WisteriaLodge · 10/01/2023 01:03

AuroraCake · 09/01/2023 23:16

Ah not. The women survived being the most hated woman in Britain.

Exactly, she's been through far worse....

SnowlayRoundabout · 10/01/2023 01:07

It's interesting that a number of royal reporters with in-depth knowledge have publicly said that the palace never once briefed them against Harry or indeed any other member of the RF, and they never received leaks about him from the palace. These are people with no reason to defend the Royal Family, so it sounds like the whole thing is the product of H's vivid imagination and/or persecution complex.

onlylarkin · 10/01/2023 01:11

The entire City of Montecito has been evacuated due to flooding. IF he cancels the Late Show interview, it would be because of this. Unless Meghan, the kids and the animals are safe, I cant imagine him staying in New York for the interview.

onlylarkin · 10/01/2023 01:13

But I cant wait until someone comes along to tell the story from the DM about how Meghan caused the storm for the express purpose of flooding so Harry could cancel the interview so he wouldn't look bad.

Sep200024 · 10/01/2023 01:15

😂😂 like Harry being in New York puts Meghan at a higher risk of being swept away in a flood

onlylarkin · 10/01/2023 01:21

Wow, that didn't take long. 🙄
