Anyone else think Kate is coming across as a bit precious and over-sensitive? Baby brain, lip gloss etc.

I'll start by saying I know there are 2 sides to every story. Also, I'm not a Megan fan. I have no idea what she's like. She might be awful. I neither like her, nor dislike her. I feel the same way about Kate.

But anyway, in light of the stories that Harry is telling, does anyone else feel that Kate (and William) comes across as rather precious and over sensitive?

First of all there's the baby brain incident. Apparently Kate forgot something or made a mistake and Megan responded by saying "Oh don't worry, it's probably the baby brain". Kate then feels insulted by this remark and says something along the lines of "You don't me well enough to comment on my hormones". William joins in by pointing his finger at Megan and saying "It's rude Megan, we don't do that here." I mean seriously?? I think the baby brain remark was completely benign. I'm sure Megan was trying to reassure Kate not to worry about her mistake. Just after having my baby I paid for my shopping and walked out leaving it in the shop. The cashier had to call me back and I apologised. She also said "Don't worry, it's the baby brain". I wasn't at all offended. I was relieved she understood! I certainly didn't think "How dare a stranger comment on my hormones". The irony of William telling Megan off for rudeness whilst pointing his finger at her. I find it far more rude to point in someone's face than to mention baby brain. If I was Megan and had received that reaction to my innocent remark I would have felt humiliated and very upset.

Then there's the lipgloss incident. Megan asked to borrow Kate's lipgloss. Kate lends it to her then gets upset that she dabs it with her finger. I understand some people don't want to share lip gloss but Kate could have said no. I don't understand what's so upsetting about Megan using her finger? If I lent someone my lip gloss I'd insist they used their finger and not their mouth. Apparently the mouth harbours more germs than your average toilet.

Then there's the report that William and Kate were uncomfortable being hugged by Megan. There are literally hundreds of photos of William and Kate hugging random strangers on the internet! Yet when Megan makes this faux pas it's offensive to them.

It seemed like William and Kate expected to be treated with great formality by Megan - as if she was one of their subjects. It also seems that Megan couldn't do anything right! Megan on the other hand perhaps expected a little more intimacy given that they were her partner's family. It doesn't sound like they did much to make her feel comfortable and welcome in to the family. Does anyone agree/disagree?

I had heard some of this before, from another source - and the comments that follow.
Sums up Meghan. Harry is so like his mother, not very bright, easily taken in. But without her essential goodness

Lol the worst thing about this for MM is if it’s fake it is still totally believable 😆

Boundaryqueen1 · 11/01/2023 06:24

I think Meghan genuinely wanted to become part of Harry’s family but they were so up their own arses that it became clear early on that it couldn’t be that way.

Good luck with that they are on the march with torches and pichforks battling pure evil apparently. Click by bloody click...

You can post this rubbish as many places as you want, it won't become any more true. We can all see it is faked by a very unhinged blogger who hates Meghan.

Just how can we "all see" that?

I'd heard much the same from another source. Meghan didn't want George or Charlotte involved at all, presumably because they would draw the cameras away from the bride.

W&C took their children out of the wedding procession as it left the chapel.

Well that account talks about "dress fittings" (so, more than one) prior to the week before the wedding (because it says what happened at these dress fitting was the reason why Charlotte's dress was so badly fitting) where Charlotte, and Ivy Mulroney were both present. It seems a little unlikely that Ivy was flown over from Canada multiple times when they could have just measured her at home.

He is absolutely cheered to the rafters by the US TV audience and veterans....his position in the US is assured.

Thank you Vera,

Hardly a bloke on the edge of crazy as some would erroneously have it. I must admit those ‘excerpts’ in the tabloid press had me wondering if he was a dick, but with context they have different meanings all together.

He is definitely smart and articulate. And funny. And compassionate.

Colbert and the audience liked him. And the veterans in the audience liked him.

Coxspurplepippin · 11/01/2023 07:58

'People from cultures like Meghan's, and mine, often have a vow ceremony before the OFFICIAL one. We call it GETTING MARRIED. We don't sign papers, but it is common to have to wedding ceremonies, and the first (non-legal) one be considered the real marriage. Unfortunately you clearly don't understand culture.'

What culture is that then, Californian princess?

I don't recall Meghan having a similar vow ceremony before her previous actual marriage.

No-one's arguing some cultures place great store in personal vows and traditions rather than religious/legal ceremonies - France for example doesn't recognise religious marriage as a legal marriage so people rock up to the registry office for the legal bit then have their special blessing/ceremony in church. No drama.

But gimme a break, Meghan doesn't have that background. She could have just done the personal vows in the garden if that was the important but. For some reason, they also decided to do the, you know, actual legal marriage but too. Wonder why that was Grin

“YankeeWally” is one of those people that question Meghan’s pregnancies. Questions such as: were her baby bumps real? And the kids in their pictures are never the same kids, (i.e. they don’t exist lol)?

It’s conspiracy level stuff.

I place no value in anything she writes. Oh, she also says nasty stuff about Oprah.

I think Wally is doing this for attention. I highly doubt she believes any of the bullshit she writes. That story of the ‘cousin’ who worked for Givenchy is just more bullshit. Funny how the people in these stories are never named. e.g. ‘Someone’ & ‘a cousin’ of someone.

It’s just not credible. Susan has posted this bullshit in a number of threads on mn.

I know. it’s reached the absurd. It’s nasty, but now so absurd that it’s becoming laughable.

I posted it on 2 threads discussing the dress fittings. It’s at least as credible as many of the claims in Harry’s book.

For those who need to know what gaslighting really is

here is wiki’s explanation of gaslighting. It is not telling someone they have baby brain when they forget an appointment.

It's a third hand account from the cousin of someone who wasn't there at the time. If that.

No Susan12345678, it is not as credible as Harry Windsor’s book. It is not credible at all.

Sounds a bit like those ‘texts’ between Kate and Meghan - a third hand mock up of a conversation reported by someone who wasn’t there.

it was written in 2019 or earlier. The author was apparently relaying gossip. Some of it sounds plausible to me but who knows? It may be misrepresentation.

If Harry hadn’t published his book we wouldn’t be discussing this now. But he’s attempted to make Kate to be some sort of villain and his version of events doesn’t make much sense so it seems reasonable to consider alternative scenarios.

Re - the marriage
I have attended the wedding of a Nigerian colleague. It was called the traditional wedding and was regarded by herself and her fiancé as the real wedding.
A week later they married in a church.

Yes I just saw this interview. Powerful. Well done Harry. Impressed with Stephen Colbert's interviewing - respectul with a nice balance of serious content and lighter moments.

They don't have "very different" colouring. People hear mixed race and immediately start thinking Michelle Obama colour, even if that mixed race person is just as light as a white person but with darker eyes and hair.

Both can share the same colour of lipstick easily.
