The fact that meghan said, and Harry believed, she had spent “hours and hours” with dressmakers getting the original scalloped tiara to match the scallop veil edge shows, IMO, one of two things:

1. meghan is a wild exaggerator and Harry is stupid. I had a high end dress custom made for my wedding. For this type of thing she would just need to hand over to the extremely experienced professionals. Meghan would have no input to this.
2. meghan is an enormous control freak who stood over them for hours to make sure it was perfect

Harry trying to paint this unbelievably first world issue as arduous is yet another example of how ludicrously out of touch with reality she is. Poor Meghan, she went with another diamond tiara and hours of her time were wasted. I mean she had to take off time from her busy schedule of borrowing lipglosses and battling Willy’s finger to boss dressmakers around.

there is also an amusing quote somewhere about how Harry reassured Charles Meghan would not be a large cost addition for him as she “makes her own clothes”. Did she borrow her entire character from Snow White? Seal singing, dress making?

Yes, I remember the Princess Anne thing. I believe the Archbishop of Canterbury said they couldn’t have a religious wedding so they had to have a civil ceremony. Then the Queen said she wouldn’t go to the civil ceremony as Head of the Church of England so she went to the blessing they had in the church.

The Queen (and now HMK of course) as head of the church does throw yet more spammers into familial weddings.

Not only was she a very traditional 90 something upper class (to say the least!) woman who may raise an eyebrow at a veil and a white dress on a divorcee in church (The current Queen had no veil and no white dress as a divorcee and also not allowed to marry in church) and as the supreme governor of the Church of England, she did throw the rule book aside for Meghan. Undoubtedly a proponent of “Let it Go” in later life.

It was deffo an issue at the time, so much so that the Queen did not attend the civil wedding (only the blessing at the chapel afterwards).

She didn't attend non church weddings.

I don't think it would have been the Vladimir either. It is a very large tiara which was in regular use by the Queen. It's also very out of keeping with the other recent royal bridal tiaras which have tended to be more at the "starter tiara" end of the scale.

Eugenie's was a bit bigger but the exception was Beatrice however she wore the same tiara as the Queen wore on her wedding day and I think it was generally considered that getting to wear one of the big gun tiaras (and a dress borrowed from the queen) was partly to compensate for her ending up with a tiny wedding due to Covid.

I think that either
a) Eugenie's choice was put out then someone went "oh balls"
b) there is another emerald in the vault (perfectly possible as a fair few of them have interchangeable centrepieces including Queen Mary's Russian Sapphire Bandeau which has apparently been worn with an emerald) which was then considered inappropriate for some reason
c) Meghan had been googling and found a different one she wanted
d) the whole thing is bollocks and the only drama was over the hair appointment

But doesn't Angela Kelly still have another book to come...

Meghan certainly didn't give up her career and country to be married barefoot in Africa to an dumb prince - she wanted celebrities, designer gowns and tiaras with the world's eyes upon her. No doubt about that.
