Kate & Meghan relationship - Spare

So it look like the following Kate & Meghan tidbits have been released from Harry’s book.

They include:

  • Meghan forgot to bring lipgloss to an event and asked to borrow Kate’s. Kate reluctantly obliged but pulled a disgusted face when she saw Meghan dabbed the gloss with her finger
  • Kate told Meghan there was a problem with the bridesmaids’ dresses - said they were too big and Charlotte cried when she tried hers on - and was advised by her own fashion house/tailor that the dresses needed completely remaking (this is a week before the wedding). Meghan tried to solve the problem with the palace tailor - but the stress of the bridesmaid issues caused her to break down into tears. Harry also confirms that Kate later apologised and bought her flowers.
  • Harry & Meghan seemed jealous that William & Kate’s house was decorated with priceless art and heirlooms whilst they had to furnish their house with IKEA furniture and buy items on Meghan’s credit card
  • Kate seems to have assumed that Meghan was hinting that she wanted to use Kate’s connections in the fashion industry. This was a miscommunication as Meghan actually already had her own connections.
  • William & Kate felt disgruntled that Harry & Meghan hadn’t sent them an Easter gift.
  • Kate had forgotten something and Meghan told her not to worry about it because of pregnancy hormones. Kate said the two of them weren’t close enough to talk about her hormones - Meghan said this is a comment she would make to her own friends - William points his finger at Meghan and tells her “these things aren’t done here” which Meghan didn’t take well

Most of it seems pretty petty (from both sides) to be honest. Although I think I would pull a face if someone fingered my lipgloss. But yeah, just two women, completely different backgrounds and personalities, having minor disputes and realising they’re not compatible with each other.

The only other thing I thought is perhaps the animosity is more between William & Meghan, and Harry and Kate are siding with their partners?

"According to reporter Catherine Ostler, writing in 2016, their relationship was already rocky even before Kate organised a charity roller disco in 2008.
Ms Ostler explained: “it is said that, somehow, Beatrice wasn’t initially invited to the bash.
“Then, when an invitation was apparently extended to her – but not by Kate, according to sources, the Princess wasn’t made aware of the Eighties dress code and arrived in an ordinary dress, while everyone else was in neon outfits.
“Beatrice, it seems, blamed Kate.
“Some say there were tears.”"

No sorry tabloid fodder doesn’t count.

Remember they just make shit up - about H&M, W&K etc etc

Do you have a reliable source for your claims?

ThighMistress · 07/01/2023 18:15

@BradfordGirl , you seem a copious consumer of the tabloids. I always laugh when posters chunter about the Daily Mail etc (your Daily Express) and then seem intimately familiar with them - and even believe their stories!

BradfordGirl · 07/01/2023 18:18

@Ticketyboots It was not my claim. You asked another poster for a link so I posted it.
It is always the tabloids because serious newspapers do not care if Beatrice cried because she had not been told a party was fancy dress. It is hardly serious news.

LittleBearPad · 07/01/2023 18:19

I see H&M’s usual supporters are picking themselves up after the disaster of this book and going back into bat for them.

BradfordGirl · 07/01/2023 18:19

Oh wait! Link to the Financial Times about Beatrice crying.

Oh no they removed it! Must have been too busy talking about the economic challenges to the nation.

Sputum · 07/01/2023 18:21

@BradfordGirl That’s the thing, isn’t it? Literally none of this is serious news, whichever ‘side’ you believe.
This is all just low level family disagreement, and whining on H’s part.

You must be new here then as tabloid / SM nonsense is never considered.

Don’t make claims or even step in to support the claims of others (who themselves didn’t step up when asked because they couldn’t) if you don’t have legitimate sources and evidence.

Otherwise you are inadvertently spreading lies and misinformation.

BradfordGirl · 07/01/2023 18:24

I agree this is low level family stuff.
I don't agree all of it is. The Palace quite clearly covered up and lied about Harrys misdeeds and do it for other Royal Family members.
That is how we get people like Andrew committing criminal acts, because they know they can get away with it.

They should be as accountable legally as anyone else, but they never will be.

Must be soul destroying for them when you can’t blame the media / RF / SM etc as it’s all straight from the horses mouth.

We have standards - both sides agree and neither would dare to attempt to support a claim with tabloid / SM drivel.

Even PH hates the tabloids - says they are liars…..

BradfordGirl · 07/01/2023 18:29

The decent newspapers have very little about the Royal Family usually.
So presumably normally this board only talks about the official Royal Family press releases?

Yes - solid unfiltered evidence - press releases from RF, M&H - or their direct interviews books etc.

Tabloid / SM content is just nonsense.

Isn’t that what PH whole message is?

Tbh it sounds like (from the various articles) they've tried to make Kate sound frosty/stuck up but there's not really anything there as she's done nothing wrong really. Different people, different backgrounds, different personalities so they don't really get on.

The worst they have is the bridesmaids dress thing but even that is a whole load of nothing. You could just as easily take that as Kate being helpful - if the dress was a dreadful fit and Charlotte was crying at the fitting then there'd be a real risk of her being upset at the wedding and causing a scene, cos toddlers do that sort of shit. Meghan gets upset cos it's close to the wedding and she's stressed, Kate takes flowers to smooth over even though she didn't really do anything wrong. Hardly bitch of the year

Completely agree - if this is the worst they have on Kate, she really isn't bad at all. Feel sorry for her being dragged into the shit show that's going on between the brothers!

theveg · 07/01/2023 17:33

She could have just thrown it out later if she is so repulsed by a woc using her lipstick or told her to keep it or wipe id down later when she uses it

This is an absolutely ridiculous comment which shows how some posters see everything through the prism of race and allow it to poison everything.

Also, on a film set, make up artists use brushes and would clean the brushes between different actors or use a different set of brushes for each person.

They do use brushes, but they will still go back and forth from the gloss/powder/whatever to the person's mouth, eyes and skin with the brush. They don't scoop up everything they need in the first brushstroke. So Meghan will have been used to using makeup that other people have been in contact with.

Moonlightdust · 07/01/2023 18:46

Pathetic and petty and downright embarrassing.

Why didn't she correct it.

They corrected botox and hair extensions stories.

They also did the same when scammers tried to link Meghan to diet pills.
They denied a lot of false stories about the Sussexes.

It's pretty shitty IMO. I've no doubt that (in amongst what sounds like an over-entitled whinefest) there are some legitimate grievances but it sounds like he/they have totally lost all sense of proportion and so are dragging out stuff that in any normal family would have been long forgotten to enhance their story.

GreekGod · 07/01/2023 19:16

These are typical SIL problems. Megan has never had to deal with these issues as she has never had a close family with siblings, cousins etc. I had a similar issue when my SIL asked for my touche éclat at a family christening. I didn't want to use it after she used it so I just threw it away after she gave it back to me but she never knew I threw it away.

Itsnottime · 07/01/2023 19:22

I would never ask someone else if I could use their lip gloss. Especially someone I didn’t know well .

I noticed that, too. Sunk costs fallacy.

There is absolutely nothing the pair could do that would make their fans see anything in a different light.

BethDuttonsTwin · 07/01/2023 19:30

notanotheroneagain · 07/01/2023 17:06

I suspect this was put in deliberately .

Something about H&M arriving at Tyler Perry with suitcases and no where to go. Something about Charles using money access to control H&M. He pulled security and money. H was 12 when Diana died, meaning that the signatures for the fund were with Charles? He was not taking his calls at the time, I wonder if was the one needed to release the money .

In general, I think H was at the mercy of his family for funds in general. I think he was given a small amount for his 'services' . Probably using his army pension (MM told to go and work? because they can't afford her, what was that all about) and his rich friends 'benefits' for his party life.

So yes, as a spare he was relegated to maids quarters and such.

So much for MM being a gold digger if she stayed while buying furniture on her credit card. I live in central London and people around here, get their furniture custom made. H&M were living in a shack by comparison, while the rest of the world went on about how privileged they were. MM lived in much more luxury before by comparison.

Yes poor ole Meghan and Harry slumming it in Nott Cott at the financial mercy of his tight family.

Well only until the £32 million wedding and the £2.4 million refurb of Frogmore, quickly followed by the purchase of the $16 million Montecito enclave anyway. Must have been tough 😥

Not forgetting the minor fact that Kate and William lived in the exact same "maid's quarters".

And that the same “maid’s quarters “ happens to be a Christopher Wren design cottage in the most exclusive area of one of the most expensive cities in the World
