I'm feeling a bit sorry for Harry

I feel like he needs his mum more than ever. To put an arm round him and say "enough son".

He needs guidance, he's never had maternal guidance. Its well documented that Williams life has been really enhanced by Kates parents. Harry has never had that and i feel sorry for him.

I'm feeling a bit sorry for Megan now that Harry has been talking about Chelsey Davy being the love of his life and the one who got away.

When did he say that?

Blip · 13/05/2023 17:00

BBC news

mixedrecycling · 13/05/2023 17:07

How strange, didn't he say that Meghan was the love of his life in one of the interviews after his book came out?

Blip · 13/05/2023 17:13

Maybe he changed his mind

Blip · 13/05/2023 17:14

He blames the press for ruining the relationship

Inevitably. Isn't everything the fault of the press as far as he's concerned? he could stub his toe in Montecito and it'd be the press's fault.

Sugarfree23 · 13/05/2023 17:35

He's blamed the press for their break up but I don't think he's said anywhere she was the love of his life. That would be far to insensitive to Meghan, even for Harry to blurt out without thinking.

mixedrecycling · 13/05/2023 17:38

Yes, but I can't see the 'love of his life' quote. So maybe he didn't say that about Chelsey Davy.

Gothambutnotahamster · 13/05/2023 17:40

Of course it would @MrsDanversGlidesAgain as he's only in Montecito because of the press - that's a perfectly logical argument for him to make Grin

Blip · 13/05/2023 17:47

He said he would have married Chelsy

Blip · 13/05/2023 17:47

And is bitter that he didn't

Then I think the Times writer didn’t really do a good job because if that was meant as a criticism of Moehringer’s account - it came across as a criticism of Harry himself.

The two are intertwined though - after all Harry is the subject matter.

ArcaneWireless · 13/05/2023 18:09

I don’t think any woman would want to hear their husband is bitter he didn’t marry someone else.

I sincerely hope he didn’t put it quite like that. That would be bloody awful.

I can understand that press attention might have been unwanted by Chelsey and quite possibly a factor in the demise of their relationship.

Wasn’t H also worried about the late Queen approving of her suitability or similar?

However there may well have been other reasons for them breaking up that Chelsey is aware of and everyone else isn’t.

Meghan and Harry have had the attention and stayed together.

It may just as easily have been as simple as H and Chelsey wanting different things as they reached certain mileposts.

It's only a logical argument for him. Anyone else would tell themselves to look where they're going.

Maireas · 13/05/2023 18:15

Any of that, really, @ArcaneWireless - although at the time I read that they split up after William and Kate's wedding because she didn't want a royal life. Irony.

Sugarfree23 · 13/05/2023 18:17

It's more than just press attention he is complaining about he's complaining about phone tapping. Private voice mails being tapped into.

ArcaneWireless · 13/05/2023 18:24

I know. It must have been awful to have private calls listened to. He is right to challenge that.

It is possible that it contributed to their break up. It is equally possible though that it could have been just one of many reasons.

polkadotdalmation · 13/05/2023 18:28

I only hope Chelsey Davy has consented to having her privacy invaded again. He should at least have contacted her, and I just hope he has.

People break up for many reasons. Maybe they also just grew up and apart. Often the case with first loves. Will be an interesting case if it goes forward.

Maireas · 13/05/2023 18:43

Didn't they try to look at her medical files? One of the worst cases was of course Milly Dowler. That poor family.

Yes, they did and journalists managed to find out where they were staying on a tiny island near Mozambique and booked into the same hotel. The press intrusion was awful for so many people.
I hope they get held to account.

Sugarfree23 · 13/05/2023 19:58

I'm sure he must have been in touch with Chelsy. Was she not at his wedding?
I'm no fan of Harry's and think he's made massive mistakes with the Oprah interview and the book but it must have been awful to be doubting your nearest and dearest for leaking stuff.

I do have an element of sympathy for him. Has the spying and tapping into voice mails caused him to doubt his own family, is this the root of the rift between them?

Is the book part of the same thing? Pour out all my secrets then nobody can ever leak them.

His life might be have turned out very different if he'd stayed with Chelsy.

Geppili · 14/05/2023 01:16

Harry, who thought it was ok to wear a Nazi uniform?

MamoruHisaishi · 14/05/2023 01:20

Geppili · 14/05/2023 01:16

Harry, who thought it was ok to wear a Nazi uniform?

But it's apparently not his fault. According to his book, it's because William and Catherine had laughed and encouraged him to wear it 🙄🙄🙄

Geppili · 14/05/2023 01:24

@MamoruHisaishi 🤣 poor beleaguered chap!

Geppili · 14/05/2023 01:24

Nothing is his fault.
