I'm feeling a bit sorry for Harry

I feel like he needs his mum more than ever. To put an arm round him and say "enough son".

He needs guidance, he's never had maternal guidance. Its well documented that Williams life has been really enhanced by Kates parents. Harry has never had that and i feel sorry for him.

Neither Harry nor Meghan have what it takes to be on the payroll of a fashion house as a muse. They are both too short and lack flair. However, they have a collaboration with Dior as many celebrities do which is basically being loaned/given clothes in exchange for tagging. They don't really do Dior much justice.

Clearly someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. Harry is 6 ft 1, for starters!

Hedjwitch · 07/05/2023 10:36

He cut a lonely figure yesterday but that's the route he chose. He wanted to step back from being a working royal and that's what has happened. If you wash family dirty linen in public then you cant really expect to be flavour of the month.

It's also factually incorrect. Celebrities don't go on the payroll, they are simply gifted outfits. It some cases in can run into hundreds of thousands of pounds worth across a collaboration, but at no point does the celebrity draw a wage from accounts!

We don’t all shop at Peacocks

😂😂😂Well, you are clearly not insiders in that world so I'll let you believe that you are all knowledgeable about it and I know nothing.

I don’t think he cut a lonely figure at all. He walked in with his cousins, sat with them & was clearly comfortable with them. I thought he did very well & as most on here know I’m not a huge fan. But well done to him
for yesterday- he came & supported his dad & did it with a smile on his face. I don’t know how anyone can criticise him for that.

I agree! He appeared far more pensive and uptight at the Commonwealth ceremony he and Meghan attended before they left for the States. Yesterday he bowled in happy, smiling and relaxed. Obviously beneath the surface his guts could've been churning with anxiety but he hid it well.

This

He seems to have a few family members who he is close to. He will have sorted out the real friends and those who were friends with him because of who is.

I really, really am. I could tell you how, but that would be too outing. But I worked for 20+ years in an industry that deals in celebrities and fashion so I do know what I'm talking about.

I agree. I thought he dealt with it all really well. Did what was expected of him and left. Obviously that isn't enough for the papers and he either shouldn't have come / stayed longer but he literally cannot win. The press will attack him for every more in light of the fact he's suing them for the behaviour his family accept.

I thought he was quite relaxed and happy, it was lovely he was there for support his dad

Couldn't quite bring himself to go to the palace afterwards and actually engage with him could he? All fake grins infront of the cameras but no balls apparently to go and face the people he had hurt by constant gossiping to the media. Still, he'll have reaffirmed his royalness with Netflix etc al so paychecks should still trickle in for now.

All apparently to get back for a birthday, that was yesterday.

Couldn't have put this better myself to be honest. Big chicken shit just got in a car and fucked off as soon as he could get away from the Coronation. Don't know why he bothered turning up. He wouldn't have been missed.

AnnunciataZ · 07/05/2023 10:59

If he hadn't come then MN would be full of "how dare Harry snub the coronation" threads!

Totally agree

🤔😁

When I read that bit about Meghan baking a lemon cake using lemons from the mansion garden (how many four year olds would choose a lemon cake? 😐) it look me back to The Cut interview, painstakingly contriving that image of being gold plated free- range and eco super-conscious. I've been there once, biding time in an unsatisfactory relationship feeling virtuous and trying to create some meaning, I know that so well.

I find it weirder that he didn't go to Oswald's the night before for the entire family's pre-Coronation celebration, which makes me think he was with his father instead.

What happened when royals descended for the hottest Coronation party in London last night (and it wasn’t at Buckingham Palace)

King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed world power-players to Buckingham Palace. But once the party winded down, it was off to Oswald’s – where Tatler had a front-row seat

How do you know he was even invited to that? Or that Charles wanted it? He can’t win with you lot can he. So glad he left this behind.

This is such spiteful nonsense. One of my kids has loved lemon cake since she was little but seriously, criticising the cake she makes her child? How unhappy in your life do you have to be to be this mean? I have an amazing 30+ year relationship with a man who is also super eco conscious, I have been since before it was cool actually snd I don’t think it’s anything to snipe at other people about. It is meaningful to my family to grow our own food and rescue animals.

Agree. I'm not a MM fan but this is ridiculously spiteful. My kid wanted carrot cake for their fifth birthday washed down with apple juice. Am I being faux virtuous because they didn't want chocolate cake and Coke?

user146539089 · 07/05/2023 11:12

It’s lovely that he seemed so happy with his cousins but it still remains that he didn’t acknowledge his brother, sister-in-law and nieces and nephews who he was once incredibly close to. It’s tragic. I think Meghan will run for President one day. It’s just one massive power struggle.

CreationNat1on · 07/05/2023 11:13

I think if MM had attended she would have stolen the show!! I think it would have made for better viewing and her youth, agency and freedom would have been a stark contrast to the endless drudgery of lifelong (till deathbed) duty

Pity she didn't rock in, in some amazing outfit and rustled a few feathers...... Maybe rustled Anne's plume.

Thesearmsofmine · 07/05/2023 11:16

Sone of the posters in this thread are batshit!

Certain people would have criticised whatever he did yesterday, he really couldn’t win. I thought he did fine.

Thesearmsofmine · 07/05/2023 11:16

Oh and my kids love my lemon cake, it’s hardly an unusual flavour!
