I'm feeling a bit sorry for Harry

I feel like he needs his mum more than ever. To put an arm round him and say "enough son".

He needs guidance, he's never had maternal guidance. Its well documented that Williams life has been really enhanced by Kates parents. Harry has never had that and i feel sorry for him.

Seriously @40thmonarch? I am guessing you are American and don’t know much about Diana except for seeing Archie being encouraged to touch pictures of her. She’d have loathed Meghan Markle more than the rest of Harry’s friends and family do. Diana was completely loyal to the Royal Family despite all the problems with her marriage and would have hated anyone, I think his case Meghan Markle, who tried to destroy it.

queenofarles · 06/05/2023 22:34

Gotta admit, he looks pretty damn good in that suit.
no 😵‍💫,

Marchintospring · 06/05/2023 22:40

He’s fine.
He’s got tons of friends and family. He’s connected with enough people over the years to find people to give him counsel. He’s got a wife and kids he loves and an extremely comfortable lifestyle he’s chosen for himself.
He’s clearly not the brightest but he’s not really had to do anything requiring intelligence. It doesn’t matter one iota.

queenofarles · 06/05/2023 22:41

It must have been incredibly difficult for him to attend solo, he looked so lost ,

I don't think she would have loathed her and I'm British. Nobody knows how she would have felt and it's a bit weird to put thoughts into a dead woman's head. I don't think Meghan tried to destroy the RoyAl Family. She just didn't fit in as it's a very strange family.

user146539089 · 06/05/2023 22:52

Really @Rockybooboo ? Diana would have hit the roof if she heard one of her sons going on TV to try to destroy the reputation of another. She adored William. He was the person who was always there for her when she was at her lowest. She called him her rock. She had the upmost respect for the monarchy despite what happened to her. Meghan Markle would not have got through the door had she been around. All this #SussexSquad rubbish about Meghan being the new Diana how much they’d have loved one another is absolutely laughable.

40thmonarch · 06/05/2023 22:58

User!!

So passionate and so ill informed 🤣. Diana was extremely worried about harry trim day 1 because she could see the massive disparity between the treatment of her two sons!

I can't imagine she would be at all Happy with what's happen to Harry.

On a different note I can't wait to see what tokens of family displayed Charles had on his gown?

40thmonarch · 06/05/2023 22:59

Sorry. She wasn't concerned about harrys "trim" from day one, but about harry from day 1

user146539089 · 06/05/2023 23:00

So you are saying she didn’t call William her rock and wouldn’t have cared that one of them went on TV to trash the other? You are definitely one of those utterly deluded Americans I see on social media.

Diana did her own interview slating her husband and the institution. I don't think blind respect for the monarchy is a good thing as it produced Prince Andrew.

She had a falling out with her own brother at one time and it's not that unusual for siblings to fall out and the parents don't need to take sides. I think she probably loved her both her boys equally and accepted her children's different personality. Did you actually know her?

user146539089 · 06/05/2023 23:07

Diana was tricked into a TV interview and would have known that by now @Rockybooboo I agree she had form for falling out with friends and family herself so maybe Harry is like her. I wasn’t a personal friend but know enough to say with some confidence she’d have absolutely hated the situation her boys are in now.

I felt sad for Harry walking in alone. It would have been nice for him to have his wife’s support.

I don’t think he realised how sheltered he was from the cost of living a certain lifestyle until he left his job as a working royal and, while I abhor the way he has chosen to support his family by selling out his birth family, I think if Charles had agreed to continuing providing security for Harry, his wife and children, some of this may have been avoided.

Others were without partners too. It’s just he doesn’t get in with the family.

Well it would be us paying the security bill so no thank you. And I am sure they do a lot of fudging of publicised accounts but no one would be happy when Charles account st were realised to see he was paying a couple of million on Harry’s security. And in fairness he isn’t lavish with the money. He refused to give Harry more.

How do you know enough about her personal feelings ?

He sat with his York cousins (who he is said to get on with) and their spouses, and the brief glimpses showing them chatting away apparently quite happily.

He has security as needed when in the UK, free of charge. He chose to move overseas, so chose to give that up.

He doesn’t have security. He does when staying on the estates and with the family on a needs basis. Which is ever.

Do you @Rockybooboo? You seem extremely confident Diana would be perfectly happy to take sides with Harry and Meghan.

It is because he doesn’t get on with his family that I think he could have used his wife’s support.

Charles could afford to pay for his son’s and grandchildren’s security from his personal wealth and it would be nobody’s business. Harry (as he tediously reminds us) didn’t ask to be born into all this and with the great privilege comes higher risks.

anyway that’s just how I feel, it’s not my money and I know others will disagree. That’s the freedom we have as commoners.

A decision is made every time he visits as to the threat level and the security needed.

That's what he is trying to challenge in court.

Of course, if he is on one of the Royal Estates or visiting family he benefits from the security that is provided to them. But if there is a realistic threat he would be provided with security - he isn't provided with it automatically when there is no evidence of a threat.

Unfortunately as Prince of Wales no. Duchy of Cornwall accounts are open to scrutiny. Now as monarch and all the caste wealth which is undoubtedly hidden in dark places then yes.

Which is the same as every member of the royal family except the King/Queen, and PoWs and his family.

Other members of the family have security when on an official engagement, but not at other times.

user146539089 · 06/05/2023 23:35

I don’t get this obsession Harry now has about security. Princess Anne quite happily jumped on the back of a horse after the ceremony to join the parade and she’s been the subject of a kidnap in the past. She’s the sibling of an heir, like Harry but doesn’t talk about her children being in danger constantly.

Even as Prince of Wales Charles had money separate from the Duchy of Cornwall.

Nope and I've never said that she would have taken sides.

Whatever you’ve said or not said @Rockybooboo you’ve suggested it’s wrong to make assumptions about what Diana would have thought whilst doing exactly that.
