I'm feeling a bit sorry for Harry

I feel like he needs his mum more than ever. To put an arm round him and say "enough son".

He needs guidance, he's never had maternal guidance. Its well documented that Williams life has been really enhanced by Kates parents. Harry has never had that and i feel sorry for him.

I feel today was a complete example of you reap what you sow for Harry.

I couldn't disagree more.
I think he wants to be invited to family occasions but not be a working royal. Today he was both and it all worked perfectly.
I think Meghan made the right decision too.

Harry turned up to merch a Dior suit on Instagram...

How tacky can you get?

Whaeanui · 06/05/2023 20:18

I wouldn’t call Dior tacky, or the suit.

LaMarschallin · 06/05/2023 20:24

It's up to Dior if they choose to publicise it.

I'm emphatically not a Harry fan but I don't think he or Meghan can be criticised today.
No pictures of Archie or his party released.
Harry turned up smartly and appropriately dressed (unlike Andrew), seemed cheerful as far as I could see and, again afaics, responded and sang during the service.
Fair play to him and credit where credit's due.

You could say a lot was tacky about today.

So a press photo of him that a designer shared is him "merching" on Instagram? Suzannah London have shared details of the dress they made for Sophie Edinburgh and a photo of her - is that merching too?

8 year old princess Charlotte turned up in an Alexander McQueen dress how tacky can you get.

Loudhousefun · 06/05/2023 21:04

Gotta admit, he looks pretty damn good in that suit.

This is clearly not true.
He and Meghan were invited to Balmoral (before the late Queen died) several times, but declined. (the last being just a few days before she died).
If he wanted to see family he would have either arrived earlier, and stayed later to attend some of the family only events, but he left for Heathrow straight from the coronation, giving no opportunity for attending anything but the state coronation.

I’m not really sure Diana would have been best placed to do that even if she was alive. She was not exactly putting the boys first in the later years.

My feelings too. Diana needed a shake to remind her that she had two children who needed support.

Bluebells1970 · 06/05/2023 21:28

Yes, people have forgotten the real Diana as often happens when people die young. She was far from the perfect Mother that she's remembered as.

Sometimes it's nice to asked even if it's an easy no.

Plus I reckon that some royal invites are out of protocol /politeness.

You don’t have to be a perfect mother to be remembered as a good one. We all have flaws. I think most people realise that when they remember her.

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 06/05/2023 22:04

Stop regarding him as a little boy who needs his mummy. He's 38 years old and should be adult enough to take responsibility for his life rather than blaming everyone else.

user146539089 · 06/05/2023 22:06

Meghan Markle would have got nowhere near Harry if Diana was still around. Harry didn’t listen to any of his friends or family but he’d have listened to her. Has anyone seen the footage of him and her when he wins a polo tournament? It’s bizarre. She wants to be in the centre and his teammates clearly don’t like her. His wedding was overshadowed by them being estranged from her family and his grandmothers death and father’s coronation was overshadowed by them being estranged from his family. She’s very controlling and tells proven lies. it’s no wonder he was warned against her. He’s a spoiled old Etonian with a low IQ and massive sense of entitlement. They deserve one another frankly.

40thmonarch · 06/05/2023 22:12

I feel for Harry but not like you op.

Surley it's very good riddance??

He's free?? This is his family. Striping him of a wordy title can't literally drain the blood out of his body. He's the son of the king.

I think he's immensely brave and I hope charles does his absolutely best to win him back as his son.
Hopefully he will now go to California and meet lili and archie. That would literally or figuratively.. Be the crowning gesture m

Everyone needs their mum, regardless of age

@user146539089 what a load of tosh 🤣

user146539089 · 06/05/2023 22:28

Which bit @40thmonarch? That she’s a proven liar? That the wedding was overshadowed by the estrangement from her family? That the funeral and coronation was overshadowed by the estrangement from his family? That’s all absolutely undeniably true. As for Diana, she loved William and Harry and would never have allowed anyone to get in between their relationship. No way at all. I can’t believe how blind people are.

40thmonarch · 06/05/2023 22:30

I cannot believe you would think Diana would disapprove of Megan or try and stop her son!

determinedtomakethiswork · 06/05/2023 22:31

ShirleyPhallus · 06/01/2023 12:26

I absolutely believe him and Meghan on what they’re saying

I just am not sure they should be saying it

That's exactly how I feel. A lot of us have got gripes with our families but it doesn't mean we think that we can sell a book detailing everything and still have a good relationship with them.
