The royal family

To wonder if the allegations Harry has made against his brother might be true?

We put the royal family on a pedestal, however they are a family with potential issues and dysfunction like a lot of families have.

I just find myself wondering if these allegations might have some truth behind them and what that might mean for the future of the royal family.

I also wonder what Dianna would think of this feud between her two boys. I expect she would be very sad…

We don’t want to get sidetracked, so perhaps you should start your own thread

ParklifePenguin · 18/06/2023 17:14

Just trying to understand why it gets so contraversial.

No, trying to understand, but I will stop asking questions if that is a problem

Howsimplywonderful · 18/06/2023 17:19

@ParklifePenguin

I’d meant that comment for the other poster.

Once threads descend into big messes of racism allegations and counter claims, they end up deleted.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 18/06/2023 17:23

@Howsimplywonderful I replied to you mentioning racism actually.

ParklifePenguin · 18/06/2023 17:29

Some posters do seem to accuse people of racism without considering if there are other reasons for criticism. I thinkit trivialises racism, which is part of the fabric of our society. As a POC I don;t support Harry and Meghan in everything they do or say

jeffgoldblum · 18/06/2023 18:29

I'm not sure why a post on another board is being brought up here to bolster claims, it has nothing to do with us .

Iwantcakeeveryday · 18/06/2023 18:30

No, this board.

jeffgoldblum · 18/06/2023 18:33

I've read this board and have not seen any racist posts about 'a woman' ?
Where and when , what did it say ?
No proof , no truth!
And don't say oh well it's deleted, anyone can claim a deleted post said anything.

Iwantcakeeveryday · 18/06/2023 18:37

OK, so you're now saying I am lying about a recently deleted racist post, because you didn't;t see it. About what I would expect. I am not allowed to show a deleted post so you get to keep accusing poc of lying about racism.

Howsimplywonderful · 18/06/2023 18:39

William looked very happy on the balcony with his family yesterday.

Howsimplywonderful · 18/06/2023 18:40

@jeffgoldblum

Did you see the photos yesterday. I think his daughter looks so like him

jeffgoldblum · 18/06/2023 18:42

Yes @Howsimplywonderful , they looked great and she looked very cute ☺️.

I am a POC. I don't think Meghan represents me.

Sorry, what's POC? Thanks

Mumsnet has asked us to refrain from making any personal comment so I will make this as general and polite as I can but I think the level of vitriol aimed at Harry on these threads has reached ridiculous levels now. What is the point of it and what is its origin?

I don’t wish to spend my afternoon combatting such an onslaught of ugly negativity.

I personally wouldn’t choose to spend my time posting so negatively about someone I had never met and I think British, American, and Australia tabloid media moguls must be rubbing their hands with glee knowing they have successfully created such a profitable wave of bile directed at a couple with two young children. Can people not see how they are being played?

Surely just knowing that they are on the same side as Piers Morgan and Dan Wootten (sp?) must give the anti-Harry brigade some cause for concern?

Each to their own. I will respectfully leave it there.

@Cranberrystreet I think you're right

ParklifePenguin · 18/06/2023 21:30

Im sorry what do Piers Morgan and Dan Wootten say that give anti_Harry concern? I don't listen (assume a podcast) so don't base my opinions on them so don't know what I should be concerned about?

@ParklifePenguin Thanks. MN did send me a list but I deleted it. 😁

ParklifePenguin · 18/06/2023 21:34

You are privileged tom be able to ignore it

Puzzledandpissedoff · 19/06/2023 07:06

... he's grown and it's all behind him and he's changed

That's a lot of faith you're putting in him, SoTedious; I'd never dispute that people can change, but whether Harry has the insight to seems uncertain - especially remembering the types he surrounded himself with even after he'd met Meghan

Maybe let's wait and see how things pan out in the future before ccoming to any firm conclusion?

Harry is a literal prince: the fact he is being criticised and scrutinised and disrespected and ridiculed (instead of worshipped and having his word treated as law) on here shows we live in a healthy democracy. Well done all of us!

That's great... that means we can do the same to King Charles and Prince William then... we can criticise, scrutinise, disrespect and ridicule them. Just healthy democracy after all..... Hmm

I don't worship any of them, does anyone? Hope not, that would be worrying.

Oh please! If only these threads did result in a proper discussion about the role of monarchy v the possibility of a republic, I would be fully on board! I am not particularly attached to monarchy of any sort.

Instead, they seem to just endlessly rehash Harry’s previous misdemeanours again and again , and because he is royal and clips of his upbringing have been filmed, the whole world gets to judge and harp on, whereas those of up who grew up in normal circumstances were allowed to make tits of ourselves when we were teens or young adults in total privacy and move on.

Believe me, my objection to all this vile hatred of him and his wife on-line, is absolutely nothing to do with him being royal and everything about him being a human being.

tigger2022 · 19/06/2023 08:02

How is republicanism inconsistent with the view that Harry, 4 accidents away from being a king, SHOULD be heavily scrutinised? Ringfencing Harry doesn’t make sense from a republican or monarchist standpoint. I’m sure MN would actually encourage starting republican threads within the RF section as it would be a huge improvement on name-calling.
