Sadly, this is a very common line to put out. He wants them back but not unconditionally. He wants them back on his own terms or more precisely, the terms put together by Meghan which involve doing things to her approval and handing over large wads of cash to them. It is not as heart wrenching as it sounds and definitely very complicated and has emotional blackmail/manipulation written over it. The royal family need the help of a qualified professional. I am not talking about lawyers.

I wonder if the same people who criticised Camilla for attending the same lunch as Jeremy Clarkson days before his offensive article was published will also be so disdainful of Harry giving an interview to the channel which pays Jeremy Clarkson millions a year?

This is the same person who did the 'not many people have asked how I am' interview, so I doubt it.

Every question will have been approved in advance, and I also expect that Harry will have requested, and got, the right to preview the final interview before release.

I don't doubt that The King loves his son, but how can he trust him when everything is passed straight back to the media? Harry is completely deluded and, sadly, he has brought all of this on himself.

It is all over the news, Twitter etc. This stupid man keeps blabbing to the media, it is not unusual for folk to comment in these situations.

I would have said to Thomas Markle if he wanted any chance of reconciliation with Meghan - say nothing more to the media, give it some time and then baby steps to reconciliation

biographies and interviews isn’t the way to do it. He is as bad as Thomas Markle now.

Beside the point, but I cannot watch Tom Bradby. His news reading style is so smug and opinionated (I can't explain it any better than that, it's his tone).

Good advice but sadly I think the estrangement is mostly about his face not fitting, rather than how he mishandled the press.

Airing his dirty laundry in public rather than washing in private... some kids just never grow up.

I doubt it.
My therapist advised me against sending a letter I had written to my mother on the grounds that I would then have to deal with the fall out instead of the wound.
In a lot of ways I relate to harry as my family hurt me. Although they did the smear campaign, for free!

I'm personally starting to wonder if this unhappy, angry and paranoid man might represent a real danger to his wife. He is very invested in likening her to his dead mother, with whom he is obsessed.

If I were risk profiling this family I would be very concerned about the adult male being clearly mentally distressed, becoming isolated from his family of origin, making grandiose statements and claims, and - on camera, ffs - showing contempt in his face towards his wife on occasion.

This is not a well man. This is not a nice man. I think his wife took an opportunity with him but has got herself into some very deep water here, and is herself isolated in many ways. 'We don't get out much', laughed Harry to the cameras at that award ceremony. I bet you don't, H, I bet you don't.

If even half of what Harry has said is true then I don't really understand why he wants to reconcile?

Maybe Harry wants his family back but does Meghan ? How on earth would it work ?
Also , why would H and M want to be back with such a “ toxic” family who made their lives so miserable.

This struck me as well - when the Queen was alive the blame was put on Charles & William. But now he's moved up in the ranks, the blame is squarely on William & Kate.

They seem to be cosying up to whoever is in charge.

If this snippet is an accurate representation of the interview and book, Harry surely can't attend the Coronation. Can he?

There's lots of navel gazing but no actual reflection, no thought that he may have been in any way at fault

i dont get him at all-how can you publicly slag off your own family several times then say i want them to have a relationship with me
