Think that ship might have sailed…and sunk!

Meghan is nearing the end of the baby phase, a time when lots of women find they can breathe again, get some headspace and move forward with a new perspective.

You have to wonder how Harry will measure up when she does.

Zodfa · 02/01/2023 13:25

He's a not very intelligent man who thought he could play the media at their own game. He failed to realise that Netflix are in just the same ugly business as the rest of them and now he's left to pick up the pieces.

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/01/2023 13:25

Meant to add, I agree TM was ditched as his face didn’t fit and is a bit of an embarrassing dad.

justasking111 · 02/01/2023 13:25

Friends husbands said over Christmas she must be amazing in the sack to have kept things going so long.

Wives asked are men that stupid?

I will be buying his book. Can't wait to read what he has to say.

I won't

Andrex is far cheaper.

Good advice but sadly I think the estrangement is mostly about his face not fitting, rather than how he mishandled the press.

Yes 100% agree with this comment.

That one is.

This is exactly what Thomas Markle was criticised for on here.

I know. I feel like its going to go on years yet.

LillianGish · 02/01/2023 13:26

Delusional. Also, has he learned nothing from Andrew's disastrous interview and his sainted mother's Panorama interview (which he wanted banned, but then referenced at length in his Netflix series)? The Royal Family are wise to say nothing - he is digging his own hole and needs no help from them. He clearly has no-one to advise him (other than his wife) - he's decided Tom Brady is on his side (much as Andrew seems to have concluded about Emily Maitlis and Diana about Martin Bashir). He's completely unable to grasp that he needs to shut up and stop trying to have the last word.

Dunno it's heavily discounted already in the USA pre publication

Wives asked are men that stupid?

I think that certain others in the family line might possibly have had that problem.

Fluffymule · 02/01/2023 13:27

It's getting virtually impossible to avoid any of this Royal nonsense now. And I've tried because I have no interest in any of it.

But you can't open a newspaper or magazine without seeing reams of headline details and commentators opinions. Streaming Apps suggest documentaries or podcasts about it. Social media feeds get clogged with it. It's inescapable at this point.

Interviews, books, documentaries, podcasts, speeches - on and on and on.
It's so tone deaf, so self-absorbed, so beyond the experiences or priorities of most people to listen to any outrageously privileged and wealthy person like Prince Harry whine and stamp his feet continuously over the course of years now.

I just read this in The Telegraph about yet another interview Harry is giving "Michael Jermey, ITV director of news and current affairs, said: “It is extremely rare for a member of the Royal Family to speak so openly about their experience at the heart of the institution." - Is it really accurate to use the word rare at this point? How many has Harry done now, or has lined up to sell his next book?

If Harry is so disillusioned and angry with his lot in life that he wants to destroy his family and by extension the monarchy then I wish him luck, because he has become the biggest advertisement on why we should actually abolish the whole ridiculous institution.

He wants them back as he’s run out of material and needs new fodder for Netflix

Sadly, I think this may be right.

Rinoachicken · 02/01/2023 13:28

There is invariably some fault on both sides here, and other parts that are neither sides fault but simply the bizarre situation they find themselves in as ‘the royal family’.

In a normal family - a private one - you perhaps have some family therapy where both sides are able to present their side, how they feel, how thy neither side’s actions has affected them etc. Both sides would also reflect and take responsibility for their own part in it, apologise where needed and hopefully move closer together to repair the relationship, taking mutual responsibility.

This will never happen here, not least because Harry seems incapable of even entertaining the merest suggestion that he may hold even the smallest amount of responsibility for his own actions and choices.

there is never an iota of "I might be at fault as well" - it's always somebody else's fault.

Typical entitled spoilt little narcissist

With a bloody big hole in the side. A Harrys mouth size hole, actually.

PrincessOfWhales · 02/01/2023 13:30

He is a first class knobhead

OneDayFri · 02/01/2023 13:30

Why not quote the whole paragraph? This is so typical of people when they want to paint a negative picture of a story. He actually adds that he wants a family, not an institution. Which makes sense to me. Even if I also understand that it's unlikely it's possible given the structure of the Royal family.

fancyacuppatea · 02/01/2023 13:31

Harry really needs something to do.

He desperately needs a job.

Problem is, who'd employ him?

Lesserspottedmama · 02/01/2023 13:33

Rhondaa · 02/01/2023 13:06

Oh they will, brass necked as ever. He'll frown and glare and she'll takes notes for vols 3, 4 etc.

Absolutely. I can picture his coronation scowl flanked by her Disney-heroine simpering. They are both insufferable and absolutely brazen.

How does that make sense?

He found freedom from the 'institution'. Not enough freedom to stop using the titles given him by said institution, but never mind.

What's stopping him trying to quietly reconcile with his family? And how is whining to the world yet again going to help him?

Georgeskitchen · 02/01/2023 13:33

All their American A list "friends" seem to have gone very quiet. I wonder why?

Blimey, he is all over the place, an absolute mess. For all his talk about mental health is he actually seeing a therapist now?

I doubt it.
My therapist advised me against sending a letter I had written to my mother on the grounds that I would then have to deal with the fall out instead of the wound.
In a lot of ways I relate to harry as my family hurt me. Although they did the smear campaign, for free!

I think if Harry is seeing a therapist it’s the kind who are telling him and Meghan the exact words they want to hear - eg it’s their fault not yours! The thing which stood out in their Netflix interviews was how they both refused to take responsibility for any of the dramas at all, instead stating that everything was the RF’s fault and placing the blame firmly at the door of the RF. Playing the victim card.

Then they have the gall to sit there in their yoga poses sending such a strong message to the RF - see how in touch with our emotions, spiritually grounded etc we both are, compared to you lot of spineless, emotionless etc voids.

The media is saying next Meghan will bring out her own book which naturally will leave no stone unturned.

Media also saying Charles comes out better of Harry’s interview, Wills and Kate have got the brunt of their ire, more W than K.

If it were me, I would find it very hard if I were RF to come back from this. I’m coming from the angle too, that I’m a good communicator, empathetic etc. H just does not seem to engage brain before mouth.

Yes I imagine anyone who is estranged from family deep down want them back on some level. He's also challenging the institution and how the system impacts on family ties. He learnt through experience and is speaking out. Nothing wrong with that.
