Another interview?

BellePeppa · 02/01/2023 16:03

Bluekerfuffle · 02/01/2023 15:54

Could you sum it up. No one wants to sit through that.

Um no thanks. I don’t have to wade through six hours of stuff to see footage of Diana or even Kate being hounded there’s plenty of that in the public forum. I have honestly not seen one single incident of Meghan being hounded. Put a link up of Meghan being hounded in the streets like Diana and Kate were please then I’ll have a better understanding of it.

DarkDarkNight · 02/01/2023 16:03

I don’t think the Royal Family will ever change. They are too desperate to keep the media happy. They have also proven they can’t be trusted. Protect the Institution at all costs.

I hope we will get rid of this archaic institution within my lifetime.

Sorry I quoted the wrong poster.

Inkanta · 02/01/2023 15:53

Meghan wasn’t hounded. There is zero footage of her being hounded. I can see you are buying in to it all and that’s your prerogative of course but where have you seen footage of her being hounded

BellePeppa If you watch the 6 part documentary they explain in detail the nature of the hounding.

I've watched the documentary there is NO evidence in it of her being 'hounded' - at least not by the standards of all people in the public eye. There are some nasty comments on social media/in the press - what isn't put in context at all is how many nice and supportive comments there were too, especially in the early days. And that EVERYONE famous gets some online negativity, it's horrible but it is by no means unique to H&M and everyone else learns coping strategies to deal with it (mainly not reading social media and btl comments in articles).

The documentary is full of images of other people being surrounded by press.

If I missed some incidence of hounding I'd genuinely like to know where it was ..

Charlize43 · 02/01/2023 16:04

I wonder how much they got paid for this interview?

It all seems very Hollywood and narcissistic to me: create drama and then cash in on it. Kerching! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

diddl · 02/01/2023 16:04

With the half in half out debacle, didn't H&M announce it before it was agreed & then that was vetoed?

If so, that must have stung.

Not only beng told no, but being told no publicly-and looking a fool in the process.

I think almost anyone could have told H that HIHO would be a no go.

BellePeppa · 02/01/2023 16:05

Meant for Inkanta. Sorry quotes all getting 😬

Glindara · 02/01/2023 16:06

Jackiewoo · 02/01/2023 16:03

@Glindara it wont let me quote your post but bullseye! Completely agree with that.

This one?

Nor would it have been such a problem if The Queen had allowed the half in/ half out arrangement.

I agree.

They have both repeated that this is what they wanted.

They wanted to continue to serve loyally the dysfunctional, racist, backstabbing, parasitic, inequitable institution - but only 50% of their time so that they could earn more ££££££ elsewhere and grow their personal brands bigger than the rung where they sat within the RF hierarchy.

When this wasn’t deemed appropriate they flounced and ranted at the institution for being dysfunctional, racist, backstabbing, parasitic and inequitable….
……whilst being meticulous to ensure that their branding (titles) associated with the dysfunctional, racist, backstabbing, parasitic and inequitable institution are front and centre of every communication they make.

Inkanta · 02/01/2023 13:48

He has more to say obviously and I will hear him out until he's done.

That could be some time.

I think this is it they wanted to live in Canada as part of that deal and when it didn't go their way they seemed to take mega huff and foot stomp.

There is footage of her being hounded in Toronto when the relationship became public. Watch the documentary, it’s very early on.

bakalava · 02/01/2023 16:10

He must feel like a pale, posh outsider down in LA who is spray tanned to within an inch of his life to blend in because he cannot even tan in the sun. We do not have a nice royal family compared to many countries but he is a product of that family and it is etched within his dna. For his wife to make him take sides, leave to prove chivalry and positively encourage paranoia and hostility to alienate him from them is terribly cruel. That is control, not love.

U am sure that if he manages to escape the toxic marriage and stop selling himself to fulfil the dreams of another, there will be loads of compassion and forgiveness from his friends and family.

Viviennemary · 02/01/2023 16:10

Thomas Markle was villified by the pair. For giving interviews. Now they do the same but think it's fine.

Walnutwhipsarenothesame · 02/01/2023 16:12

bakalava · 02/01/2023 12:44

Sadly, this is a very common line to put out. He wants them back but not unconditionally. He wants them back on his own terms or more precisely, the terms put together by Meghan which involve doing things to her approval and handing over large wads of cash to them. It is not as heart wrenching as it sounds and definitely very complicated and has emotional blackmail/manipulation written over it. The royal family need the help of a qualified professional. I am not talking about lawyers.

Totally agree. He is such an absolute pillock it's embarrassing. The lack of self awareness is absolutely breathtaking.

BasiliskStare · 02/01/2023 16:13

Well I saw a clip from their commentary where Harry talking about the paparazzi taking photos of his family said - "it's amazing what people will do for money " without an ounce of irony. 😊

Inkanta · 02/01/2023 16:13

Good grief no! Zero interested in reading it. I didn’t read that Freedom book or watch the O interview or the NF saga. No need as I know what they’re all about - which is an endless supply of self pity and complaining. So no I won’t be reading it but you get stuck in

BellePeppa How do you know anything from H&M perspective then!?

Maximinimalist · 02/01/2023 16:13

This is interesting.

BasiliskStare · 02/01/2023 16:15

documentary not commentary for my post above

LizzieSiddal · 02/01/2023 16:15

It is @Maximinimalist where is it from?

Maximinimalist · 02/01/2023 16:16

I just watched the clip and it seems there was going to be a big BUT after the statement of wanting father and brother back. I don’t think he is messing about and is prepared to lose the relationship if it means standing up for him, his wife and children.

Go Harry, Go. There I said it!

IMHO NF carefully spliced those edits to make a “mockumentary” - all those fast moving images over their words. Have a watch of The Behaviour Panel on YouTube - they have pin pointed the piss-takes that got under H&M radar.

ArcaneWireless · 02/01/2023 16:17

He does have a charmed life.

He also had a beautiful opportunity to escape and live a wonderful life and to shine in his own right. He chose to cling on to the very thing he said made him miserable.

He doesn’t come across as happy. He doesn’t come across as content. He comes across as bitter. And the title of his book is as good as saying why He feels bitter.

The problem is that continually playing tiny violins will always only accentuate the fact that he is the second fiddle.

SavouryFlavour · 02/01/2023 16:18

With regard to the discounting of the hardback, that's not a reflection of its current 'value': it's standard for all major hardbacks to be heavily discounted by supermarkets and Amazon in the first few weeks of publication, largely to ensure volumes are shifted for chart position. Whether large piles of unsold Spares end up... spare in discount bookshops within a few months is another thing. I suspect some people will fork out the full price, more casual gossip hunters will buy it at £8, and everyone else will just pick up the gist from the frothing in the papers. Be interesting to see how the paperback does, once the headline bombs have been detonated.

The interviews will be 100% required by his publisher's PR dept, although presumably he'll have greater veto than your average writer over who conducts them. Just thinking about the layers of PRs, agents, editors, management, etc, etc, etc, this will have to go through is headache-inducing.

Doing what though & funding himself how?
