BellePeppa Diana was hounded and not protected. Meghan was hounded and not protected. A pattern.

After her divorce , Diana refused Royal protection .

Wheresthebeach · 02/01/2023 15:43

He’s perfectly happy to violate his families privacy when it suits him. His idea of reconciliation is a grovelling apology from his family plus lots of cash from his Dad to fund his lifestyle. I don’t see how W&K can ever be expected speak to them again, any conversation will just be used for the next volley of accusations

I'm personally starting to wonder if this unhappy, angry and paranoid man might represent a real danger to his wife. He is very invested in likening her to his dead mother, with whom he is obsessed.

If I were risk profiling this family I would be very concerned about the adult male being clearly mentally distressed, becoming isolated from his family of origin, making grandiose statements and claims, and - on camera, ffs - showing contempt in his face towards his wife on occasion.

This is not a well man. This is not a nice man. I think his wife took an opportunity with him but has got herself into some very deep water here, and is herself isolated in many ways. 'We don't get out much', laughed Harry to the cameras at that award ceremony. I bet you don't, H, I bet you don't.

I think you make some good points.

And where the assumption has been that Meghan is behind it all because Hollywood, I wonder if it is more Harry because she was the escape route.

Applesonthelawn · 02/01/2023 15:45

He says in the documentary that Meghan was hounded by social media as opposed to Diana who was hounded by paparazzi. It is similar but not the same. There was no physical threat from paparazzi with Meghan, which is what contributed to Diana's death (although not the actual cause because the driver was drunk and she wasn't wearing a seatbelt). Harry is at pains to see a similarly because he wants to save her like he couldn't save his mum.

TinyChancer · 02/01/2023 15:46

I don't get it. He criticises his family but wants to reconcile? Maybe by 'reconcile' he means 'you apologise, I won't'

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/01/2023 15:46

No one can protect you from yourself

And yet like most of the RF he spent a lifetime - at least until he left - surrounded by people doing exactly that

Wheresthebeach · 02/01/2023 15:48

The constant comparing MM to Diana is quite disturbing…he does seem obsessed.

LillianGish · 02/01/2023 15:48

From where I'm sitting, being the 'spare' is a fantastic deal. Nearly all the perks, with much more freedom and flexibility. It certainly gave Harry privileges, status and wealth he could never have come within a million miles of based on his own merits. I completely agree, but I think from Meghan's perspective she didn't like the idea of being so far down the pecking order - having to curtsey to the Queen, now Charles, eventually Wills and Kate, living in a smaller house - not of her choosing - not being able to express her opinions - generally being part of a hierarchy in which she was not top dog and realising that she would never be top dog no matter how hard she worked or whatever she did. I'm not sure why (or even if) this has come as such as surprise to Harry. I think it's finally dawning on him that lovely as their house in Montecito may be, it's actually people not things that make you happy and all his friends and family are on the other side of the Atlantic.

Laiste · 02/01/2023 15:50

How can you complain about social media/press intrusion and then sell books about it all and go on bloody Oprah?!

It's puerile. They're just a pair of self obsessed self serving twats.

MayThe4th · 02/01/2023 15:50

I predict a divorce announcement. This was a job for Meggan, the ultimate career move. And now there’s nothing left to say she’ll be off.

Harry needs to make up with his family because without her he has no-one.

Inkanta · 02/01/2023 15:41

Meghan wasn’t hounded. There is zero footage of her being hounded. I can see you are buying in to it all and that’s your prerogative of course but where have you seen footage of her being hounded?

SnowlayRoundabout · 02/01/2023 15:50

And the rift is still everyone's fault but his. He really is thick if he thinks people don't see right through this.

I agree. If there had been abundant footage of her being hounded then why did they use shots of photographers chasing Katie price after her court case in their “documentary”?

Glindara · 02/01/2023 15:52

BethJ62 · 02/01/2023 15:35

Nor would it have been such a problem if The Queen had allowed the half in/ half out arrangement.

I agree.

They have both repeated that this is what they wanted.

They wanted to continue to serve loyally the dysfunctional, racist, backstabbing, parasitic, inequitable institution - but only 50% of their time so that they could earn more ££££££ elsewhere and grow their personal brands bigger than the rung where they sat within the RF hierarchy.

When this wasn’t deemed appropriate they flounced and ranted at the institution for being dysfunctional, racist, backstabbing, parasitic and inequitable….
……whilst being meticulous to ensure that their branding (titles) associated with the dysfunctional, racist, backstabbing, parasitic and inequitable institution are front and centre of every communication they make.

Inkanta · 02/01/2023 15:53

BellePeppa If you watch the 6 part documentary they explain in detail the nature of the hounding.

BasiliskStare · 02/01/2023 15:53

@jeffgoldblum - You are absolutely correct - my apologies I think it was you replying to another post / giving a link My ineptitude I think it was meant to be about the comment Marsha Melrose referenced.

Sorry about that - my fault

Harry actually had pretty much the best job in the world bring the ‘spare’. But because he’s only ever known riches and privilege of the highest order he couldn’t appreciate it. He has no idea what it’s like to live how most people do. His idea of being ‘ordinary’ is living in an £11 million mansion never having held a proper job that he had to apply to and interview for in his entire life.

I predict a divorce announcement.

Accompanied by a suitable black and white photograph of the pair of them of course. A snatched moment - 'Coming together through divorce' perhaps? A new yoga pose? Expensive homeware items in the bg naturally.

Natalie1966 · 02/01/2023 15:58

Harry is a complete twat, talk about digging his own grave.

jeffgoldblum · 02/01/2023 15:58

@BasiliskStare 🤣 no worries, only noticed as no one normally replies to me!

BedTaker · 02/01/2023 16:00

'I can't understand why they don't like me.....as I sit here yet again slagging them off to the entire planet'.

Jackiewoo · 02/01/2023 16:00

I think he's paranoid and his wife stokes his paranoia while calling the paps herself. The people hounding them more than anyone are themselves.

in their Netflix show they feigned looking for one pap on a scooter from their giant bullet proof 4x4. it was so badly acted it was funny - Harry's head spinning side to side looking for something that wasn't there. They even used photos from events that they weren't even at to advertise the Netflix thing, I mean come on!

bakalava · 02/01/2023 16:02

I think that many posters are coming down too hard on Harry. He is a victim. He was already troubled, even vulnerable in some ways but none of this would have happened if he had married a Chelsy or a Cressida.

He is being played by his spouse within a toxic dynamic and the cracks are probably starting to show. The wife is fine as a lone ranger sat on her chosen pedestal writing amazing compliments about herself but otherwise, not a person who nurtures family ties. There is no scope for building bridges while she is around.
As I said previously, it is a specific type of codependency called echo codependency and it has the added feature of dual mothership which has become destructively entrenched because the other mother is dead and sainted and comes with her own set of paranoias and conspiracies. He is an empty vessel which has been filled with these plans and expectations which he believes are his own will. The voice you hear him speak with is, by and large, hers and it will takes loads of proper therapy to break away.

Jackiewoo · 02/01/2023 16:03

@Glindara it wont let me quote your post but bullseye! Completely agree with that.
