sounds like an utter borefest😀

tatalan · 19/12/2022 16:28

I'll be watching. Glad to see them delivering on their production deal.

Blenheimprincess · 19/12/2022 16:28

But what are they leaders of? Or are they just voice over artists on this?

Wanderingoff · 19/12/2022 16:29

I can’t roll me eyes enough

I do look forward to hearing how being born as a member of an unelected monarchy means that they are appropriate leaders

bakalava · 19/12/2022 16:29

Maybe it is "lead" as in "lead balloon" ?

garlicandsapphires · 19/12/2022 16:31

Blenheimprincess · 19/12/2022 16:28

They are talking ABOUT leader - Nelson Mandela, Ruth Ginsberg etc

Blenheimprincess · 19/12/2022 16:32

Oh I've looked now, they're just the voiceover. Although I suspect they think they're more than that.

And of course South African's were dancing in the streets when Meghan married into the Royal Family, in a similar way to how they were when Mandela was freed...

Wanderingoff · 19/12/2022 16:32

@bakalava 😁

Blenheimprincess · 19/12/2022 16:34

Although I'm not sure they ever found the cast member did they? Shame.

"Meghan said a cast member from South Africa told her they had celebrated when she tied the knot with Prince Harry. She revealed: “He said, ‘I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison.’ "

They are not the leaders here. I assume they provided funding as well.

The 7-part series features interviews with world leaders including:

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern
Attorney Bryan Stevenson
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Climate activist Greta Thunberg
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi
Feminist activist Gloria Steinem
Justice Albie Sachs

Simon Schama was washing his hair when NF called. So they went for the next, obvious choice of respected historians.

They found someone who was the only actor from SA at the time in the lion King who said he didn't say that, oops!

Wanderingoff · 19/12/2022 16:39

But the thing is - even the choice of leaders is political

hsrry ONLY had a profile becaue he is an unelected part of the monarchy - who function in the uk becaue they are politically impartial (Charles potential issues noted)

harry and Meghan’s particular brand of liberal lefty ideology which also worships material success is a specific and limited political ideology. Royals have no business going near anything overtly political

Meh. Obama's not David Attenborough yet he managed to present a documentary series about national parks and their wildlife.

Super excited for this.

LMAO Harry is a free agent now. Non taxpayer-funded royals get to be as political as they want 😂

Beachbabe1 · 19/12/2022 16:42

So what! They're earning money to provide for their family like every other person!!

AL257 · 19/12/2022 16:44

Good for them. Unless someone is holding a gun to your head forcing you to watch I don’t see why you have a problem.
Stop giving mind space to people you so obviously dislike, it will make life easier.

Ohnonevermind · 19/12/2022 16:44

I don’t know how they’ll manage the interview with Ruth Bader Ginsberg seeing as she’s dead ?

Wanderingoff · 19/12/2022 16:45

@tatalan rhe point is there is a massive hypocrisy in him doing this kind of crap - maybe if he did some proper work in a relevant area he would justify his own input - but he’s still at the moment going off of his royal background

its not about using tax payers money - it’s about the rank hypocrisy in their faux moral preaching

How exactly is he going off of his royal background? genuinely confused here.

It's been in the works since 2018 apparently, H&Ms production company got involved via the Mandela Foundation.

AclowncalledAlice · 19/12/2022 16:51

I'm so glad I don't have NF, so am not bound by it's T's&C's to watch/comment on shows and people I claim not to have any interest in or care about. Maybe you should cancel your subscription or watch something else...I'm sure I read somewhere that there are other shows on NF.
