Guaranteed high ratings …,
Their detractors will be the first ones tuning in

I’m not sure there will high ratings on the day it drops as most people are busy . Some people might watch on a later date . I won’t.

That's not the point. Of course they would not call it their own work, it isn't!

My post was in response to ohnonevermind stating that they were claiming ownership of the film. So yes, it is the point.

Ohnonevermind · 28/12/2022 16:35

@onlylarkin

Please see my point about the IMDB entry ?
They are now all equal - executive producers (Geoff was originally the producer and Sussex’s were executive producers) ?

They’ve got the leading credit order, ahead of the people being interviewed in the series too.

I wonder who posted that entry.

onlylarkin · 28/12/2022 16:57

IMBD is like Wikipedia in that anyone can make edits. Literally anyone with an account can make changes. That is why Wikipedia is known to not be reliable.

I am sure you are trying to suggest that Meghan herself came in and changed it. Except if she had done it herself, I would expect the information to be more complete. Including # of episodes and listing the full cast. This entry appears to be done by someone from outside ofbthe production.

This is the Netflix blurb on the netflix website.

"Executive produced" = aka bought off the shelf by Harry and wife Markle. How laudable, a few more of these and they are worthy of another award perhaps.
Again, the things that money can buy....

onlylarkin · 28/12/2022 17:31

So?

You think Meghan snuck in and changed this? Why did Netflix choose to put it up this way? I suspect why, but since I don't work there I can't say.

Netflix have good lawyers who will take care of the wording. They are a business. Nothing wrong with the wording.
Netflix does own up about being a business, and will make sure anything released is factually correct to extent possible or required by law or regulation. Just going about their business like any other business. They don't collect pseudo awards and they don't call themselves a charitable organisation or anything resembling that. Fair enough

bakalava · 28/12/2022 18:10

It was obviously pre-negotiated as part of the purchase that they would take all the credit. Personally, I'd be dead embarrassed to do that!

bakalava · 28/12/2022 18:11

You can buy awards and titles but you cannot buy raw talent and it is also getting really hard to buy fame and popularity these days.

I would love to see your proof. Because without it, nothing is obvious.

I'm so glad I don't have NF, so am not bound by it's T's&C's to watch/comment on shows and people I claim not to have any interest in or care about. Maybe you should cancel your subscription or watch something else...I'm sure I read somewhere that there are other shows on NF.

Or to search and find out what a couple I dislike or have know time for are doing next that I start a thread for the reason of creating a conversation on the forum preferably with others who feel the same as me.

Even if I didn't search and the news happened to pop up on my feed (I have know idea why as I keep telling you I can't stand them) - I can't ignore it as I'm obsessed with M&H and prefer to start threads that feed of the negativity of likeminded.

God that sounds dull and worthy. None of the people they've chosen to feature will cause even the slightest discomfort to their target audience of Chelsea Clinton, Emmanuel Macron and Gwyneth Paltrow.

They haven’t chosen to feature anyone, the interviews were all completed several years ago.

They have just been paired with the project in May of this year I think (?) and did some voice over / cut scene stuff

Ohnonevermind · 28/12/2022 18:47

@StephanieSuperpowers

they didn’t chose the people to be interviewed, that was done by Geoff Bakewell to wrote and directed it. The documentaries were already made two years ago.

H&M have just inserted themselves into the documentaries as ‘presenters’ - how much they have added to the whole thing - we will have to wait and see.

purpledalmation · 28/12/2022 18:48

Yes, these interviews were done a couple of years ago and Harry and Meghan have just been shoehorned into a commentator role simply because Netflix wants to make some money out of them while they still have a presence and still under contract.

The New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Arden has publicly distanced herself from the choice of H&M as link people. She didn't sound happy about it. They were last minute afterthoughts as link persons.

purpledalmation · 28/12/2022 18:57

It's also the sort of think that makes my turn my tv off and cut my toenails.
Like I need any more people flying around in jets lecturing me about climate change.

I am curious though at how the hapless duo can insert themselves into interviews that took place a couple of years ago?

I'd like to see climate warrior Greta stand up and say she doesn't want climate hypocrites like H&M commenting on her interview, and stand up and lecture them like she lectures the world.

Roussette · 28/12/2022 19:24

What's all this 'inserting themselves'?!
It's not like Netflix have allowed them to insert themselves.
They were consulted and offered a role. How some of you must hate that and have to think of every which way to tear them down for financing themselves.
Get used to it! There'll be more

Ohnonevermind · 28/12/2022 19:42

@Roussette

I don’t hate them, sorry to disappoint you and your narrative 😀

They bought a completed product and have edited themselves in post production to give it their golden touch. Does that sound better ? 😀

Yes but do add 'with agreement from the production co and NF'🙂

I didn't say you hate them, I said some on here hate that they were consulted and offered a role 😇

Ohnonevermind · 28/12/2022 19:54

@Roussette

Netflix didn’t see the need to add the original production teams names on its website - see my picture from their website above ? But I should ?

PreparationPreparationPrep · 28/12/2022 20:02

But isn't that down to NF and not H&M issue. NF obviously want to make money and H&M also. Should H&M have refused ?

Last I heard you weren't their spokesperson! Up to you what you say. Every single article about it mentions the production ppl as I said in a previous post. Email NF if you don't like how it's described 😂
They get criticised for absolutely EVERYTHING so it's all rather boring

FrippEnos · 28/12/2022 20:08

As has been said this was a completed product that they have been added to.
