Oh dear...

I can’t read it as I don’t subscribe to The Times.

Hooverphobe · 17/12/2022 19:29

About bloody time they apologised. Good for them for realising they’ve been whiny little brats.

Theunamedcat · 17/12/2022 19:38

I'm sorry they feel that way I'm sorry that Harry was raised into such a privileged life and expectations may vary but he should really have learnt to read the room by now

I am truly sorry his mum died and he didn't get enough therapy to become a stable secure adult

cyclamenqueen · 17/12/2022 19:40

As my mother used to say ; wanting is not a good reason for having

Glassofwhatever · 17/12/2022 19:42

No point in linking an article behind a paywall, can you screen shot it OP?

Tontostitis · 17/12/2022 19:43

They should be barred from the country the lying pair of grifters

sashagabadon · 17/12/2022 19:44

They are deluded but if they both apologised then the royal family should be gracious and accept the apology

Coronation Street vibes. How apt a title for a fkn soap opera that is the RF now.

So what do they actually DO that enhances our lives apart from gossip columns and frock designers.

Oooh is Eugenie/Beatrice/whoever preggers?
Look at the frock
Kate is very thin
Kate had botox
There are affairs everywhere
They have so much money
They know how to wave and curtsey

Ironic innit that neither the current or future King actually have a job. A real job I mean.

But look, it's the age of instant gossipy news. That's all they are good for now, and with the Queen gone it's fair game. The Palace will find it hard to muzzle anyone really sooner or later.

It's nothing remotely new, the public has been gossiping about the RF and courtiers for centuries.

Christ I really wish they would all Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

maeveiscurious · 17/12/2022 20:06

I think by the way they gave sacked their endless advisers, they are in a echo chamber of righteousness.

I think they have overplayed their hand. It's not an attractive documentary

This is now.

Back in the day they didn't have instant relay of rumour and gossip or Netflix, or maverick paparazzi. They got away with far more back then.

Now is different.

AnnesBrokenSlate · 17/12/2022 20:16

The series was much harder on the media than it was on the RF so, of course, the media are going to dredge up unnamed sources to try to focus on the RF angle.
News Corps titles were criticised most often. Murdoch is Australian/American and it is those global US media conglomerates that are pushing all the H&M trashy stories. Why on earth would an US Tory/Republican supporting media want to pretend the monarchy (that criticised Boris et al) is shaky? Hmm, it's a mystery. . .

Supersimkin2 · 17/12/2022 20:24

You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can’t fool all the people all the time.

Oldest PR slogan evah. They’ve overdone it. I have huge sympathy for Harry but he wants a world that doesn’t exist - a quiet life as a global celeb with no talents and 0 to say who gets a billion in a suitcase every now and then. Who doesn’t want that. But.

But. His nasty accusations don’t ring true.

But. Nothing to sell except unproven and unlikely allegations.

But. Nothing new to sell, he and wife keep proffering the rewarmed leftovers and the dish is starting to smell.

Presumably the ‘new chapter’ can’t start without the prep being filmed and approved by Netflix. Let’s hope the producers get on with it. And that it’s good work they’re doing (no one seems very hopeful, do they).

Minimalme · 17/12/2022 20:25

I wonder if Harry thinks he is reforming the Monarchy in the way Diana did?

His approach is a huge departure and unprecedented in the Royal Family's history.

I am not a Royal fan but I loved the late Queen's 'never complain never explain' motto. Harry is doing the complete opposite.

I think/hope he knows what he wants. They are certainly known globally and must have made a small fortune through this.

I would also hazard he didn't really love his family and that is actually ok. Love is earned and they failed him in that.

meatballsoup · 17/12/2022 20:28

We've all heard their 'truth' now. Why can't they just quietly fuck off & enjoy all the wealth & privileges they have. I can't say it any better than Howard Stern. Whiney bitches the pair of them

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 17/12/2022 20:34

Well M and H can wish for what they like but that doesn't mean they'll get it. What is in it for the RF? Nothing so why would they agree to such a meeting just for Harry to accuse W of 'screaming' and scaring him again?

It sounds like they want a Sandringham Summit 2.0 where

1 Meghan isn't excluded

2 William isn't allowed to shout/ apologises for previous shouting

3 The half in/half out scenario is re-visited & RF get it right ie agree

Badger1970 · 17/12/2022 20:44

They are both the products of over-indulged parenting and never having been told the word NO. They both think they have far more talent than they actually do, and that the world wants to hear their every thought.

The Duke and Duchess of Delusion.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 17/12/2022 20:48

So where's the proof they said this? There is no proof whatsoever - it's just made up bs for hype and to get people to click!

Quite possibly. But if Harry said

"I have had to make peace with the fact we’re probably never going to get genuine accountability or a genuine apology.”

we know he thinks they should apologise. Whether he's deluded enough to believe it will happen, who knows.

And as always, stupid people fall for it

Ah, so you agree that they shouldn't be demanding a meeting with Charles or an apology?

Christ I really wish they would all Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

All?

Only two of the protagonists have said anything at all. The rest of them have maintained a dignified silence.
