Just very occasionally, she shows sides that express her individuality. I was personally quite struck that she went (seemingly slightly under the radar) to the mourning/demo for Sarah Everard. But of course all of the family and their satellites are constantly on stage. You can only be grateful when they don't seek attention. In 60 years I don't think I've seen our press so dominated by their narratives, it's appalling. I wish it would stop and then I get sucked into stories about it! 😂

You’re suggesting that the RF commissioned a piece of work that detects negative articles about W&C - which would be a very specialist bespoke software - then they’ve ensured that non-affiliated websites such as MN, actually have this platform as a plug in to automatically detect and delete any articles that have been picked up?

Thats quite a stretch. And if it were true then it would allow a link to be posted in the first place, unless it was a REALLY shot software.

But tell us more - do the RF pay MN et al for using this software? How does it work in practice?

Do you mean when he described her paranoia? I thought that was a compassionate reference to a mental health condition. When he said that it really conjured up for me the terrible psychological impact on those young boys of a parent's pain and MH condition. The ages they were, W had more understanding but sadly it shaped Harry's own psychological development in a negative way. I did not experience W as joining in to hating her at all. What came over to me was the awful repercussions on children of the perverted abuse of D by Bashir.

It's not an opinion that Kate does far fewer engagements than most of the other senior royals. Anne seems to typically do 350+ per year, in her 70s, and Charles does similar. The Duchess of Cambridge did just 119 engagements in 2021. Not every engagement is a full day's work - many are just an hour or so.

Why do people care so much about a family they don't know? I work hard for a living and as far as I'm concerned the 'feud' between two rich and overprivileged women who are only in the public eye because of their husbands is a bunch of shite. Just a slightly posher version of Rooney v Vardey. I will read about it up to a point - as I did with RvV, for the entertainment value but I wouldn't waste my time watching the Netflix. I was sad when the Queen died as I would be about any public figure who had done the nation service. But I am baffled why some people seem so over-invested in the Royals.

I think you’ll find that the Monarchy believed and so did the Church that their right to reign was god given: the divine right of kings hence the consecration by oil in the Coronation service in Westminster Abbey. There was nothing heroic. Even with the restoration of the monarchy after Cromwell’s republic the monarchy was not held in high regard. It was Prince Albert who sought to improve the image as did George VI and the Elizabeth II

I find Harry's preparedness to have Kate belittled and held up as a target for spite (and particularly spite from women) in public, to be really one of the worst things he has done. There is simply no evidence of her having been anything but kind to him historically speaking.
