Meghan & Harry Were Lying From The Start, Weren't They?

1000 replies

TheShellBeach · 15/12/2022 17:47

As per the thread title.

Right from the word go, Meghan and Harry were not telling the truth. About anything.

Now the Netflix series has come out it just proves it, over and over again.

The racist headlines were very few and confined to the tabloids. That doesn’t make it OK, but the coverage was overwhelmingly positive at the beginning. Camilla has had far worse and Kate was given a hard time too.

No it wasn't. There was questioning of Meghan when they got together and why should we dismiss the tabloids when millions read the?
Even on here there were horrible vile posts in threads back when they had barely got engaged so no, it was not overwhelmingly positive

There's been posters on here in the last few days who wrote Meghan off after the engagement interview... one saying 'I knew she was trouble'. So let's not pretend it's been positive all the way.

Not a single one of these examples are lies. People can have their own perspective on their own lives for goodness sake.

Bike rides: I assume he's much more free to just go and do things like this with Archie and be spontaneous and a hands-on parent.

Wedding: a lot of people have more than one ceremony. The private one she mentioned was obviously not the legal one but so what, it was obviously significant to them and felt like the moment they made that marriage commitment.

Security: Harry is absolutely right, he did inherit the risk by being born to the heir to the throne. And we know there were threats against Meghan. He is obviously protective and felt the risks to them is high enough to warrant security. Fair enough, he's being protective. If Diana had had her royal protection officers she would never have died in that crash.

Passport: you've confirmed that what Meghan said was true. It's a shame you lack the imagination to understand that that must have felt very strange for a woman in her late thirties used to being completely independent. Travel arrangements would have all been made by staff at the palace.

You can be in denial all you like, but their words to Oprah were very clear.

You're also very selective in responding. For example, the passport issue you've blatantly ignored the fact Meghan Markle was in possession of her own passport travelling to New York in 2019 for her baby shower. Yer she claims she didn't see her passport until they travelled to California upon leaving the Royal life....but she obviously had her passport for travelling to Canada well before they moved to California. She was hardly truthful there. 🤦‍♂️

Another example of your selectiveness is over the security issue. Harry has always known non-working Royals are like high net worth celebrities who aren't entitled to state protection so have to pay for it themselves. Harry also lied about who exactly decide the issue of security protection.....its not the Royal Family themselves. Another lie.

Rinse and repeat for every example given. 🤦‍♂️

Funny that!

Luellie · 16/12/2022 07:14

About the lie about how they met, isn't it obvious that the royal family/institution/whatever just didn't want them to say they'd met on Instagram? I'm sure they were just doing as they're told tbf

Mamma5464 · 16/12/2022 08:56

The media lies too. Some people are saying it was just the tabloids, but the DM is terrible and plenty of people read it and believe what they read!

ThighMistress · 16/12/2022 09:16

i just can’t bear this “my truth” or “their truth” business. What is the point of the whole legal system if an accused, caught in the act, can stand up in court and say, “No, m’Lord, I was ten miles away, and that’s my truth - na na na na naaaaa!”

Of course recollections may vary, but if one has stated an outright untruth that is proven, well that is what is called a lie, is it not?

That is exactly why though in the criminal justice system evidence has to prove beyond reasonable doubt - rape cases for example suffer due to he said/she said and often a lack of other evidence. Because they can say that and there is an understanding that peoples perception of truth is different to the facts

this is civil anyway which is balance of probabilities

rumship · 16/12/2022 09:41

I don't think they are lying. They are telling what they see as the truth.

This is all I hear from M&H fans, They belive any thing M&Hsay as fact because it either came from them on a GOSSIP show or through their BIAS paid off meidia outlets like Scoobie or a £89 Million Promotional series designed to pull on the heart strings and manipulate its audience as its a pice of theater.

Confirational Bias and gulability is the name of the game and every single untruth that has been proven or every time they have contradicted their selves a new narative is made up to forgive that as their truth.

Its a complete and utter joke they have been proved to lie and the fact Megs had to appologist in court for lieing says it all.

This is all about a huge group of people wanting to bang the racecard as hard as possible, stick one the the colonial british familiy, white people and british media.

Every time I see a responce to defend them its always the same.

Come on then where is your definative proof plenty of people belive what they read in the DM?

eople buy papers for plenty of reasons and the DM does print both factual and very funny stories that are good for a light hearted read and a chuckle. Its just shows the superiority you must see your self if you think the THICK public must belive every thing they read in the media. This si the bull crap H&M and much of the American audience would like to push, Oh the dumb brits all brain washed by the media because we dont like H&M.

Tbf anyone who chooses to read the Daily Mail is a bit thick.

Wow, I didn't say the public were thick. I said the media lies and people (I mean some people) believe them. My parents are immigrants and take it as a newspaper without understanding the money and politics behind it. And even if you take the DM with some scepticism, if you are reading it every day then it's difficult not to be influenced by the headlines.

I thought I had no opinion on M&H. Until I saw the documentary, I didn't realise I had been influenced by the "Princess Pushy" type headlines after all. I think they were right to fight back.

I think the fact we've had 12 years of Tory rule is a clear indication that this is, in fact, true.

What hello ? I've no idea. Might've been years ago, I don't know

You just post 'rumours'... as you've admitted.

Ohnonevermind · 16/12/2022 12:48

it wasn’t ‘years’ ago, it was fairly recent , I’m not on mumsnet that long, Can you really not remember, a lot of posters prodded you into remembering since when you again denied posting it.

The Sussex’s haven’t had any money coming in for a while, lots of staff moving on from Archwell and PR moved to Netflix/Spotify . it doesn’t take a genius really.

Roussette is always trying to make out that people who do not approve of MM are racist. It can never be possible that people do not like her because of what she says and does.

Link me to where I've said that. Never have. I have some SOME of it is racism based. Never said all or even hinted at that.

But you do you. By the way, what was your name before you changed it?
