Meghan & Harry Were Lying From The Start, Weren't They?

1000 replies

TheShellBeach · 15/12/2022 17:47

As per the thread title.

Right from the word go, Meghan and Harry were not telling the truth. About anything.

Now the Netflix series has come out it just proves it, over and over again.

I am attempting to add Thickos to my lexicon. It's an island off the coast of Greece, right?

wildernesssw · 17/01/2024 21:05

Yes, just off the coast of Corfu, entry restricted to people who have been to Eton or Harrow.

ralpix · 15/01/2024 10:00

strange choice though isn't it @Rockybooboo for a woman who wants to be in control, to join the British Royal Family? If one wasn't so cynical,
one might question her motives....

How about falling in love? is it a good enough motive?

FloofCloud · 22/01/2024 19:53

@Sagharbor - very much doubt there's love in the mix

mrsmingleton · 22/01/2024 19:58

I'm sure she fell in love as did Harry. He appeared besotted on their first interview.

wildernesssw · 22/01/2024 20:01

Yes, he did appear besotted, and has reiterated since that she is 'the love of his life'.

She has been rather more guarded, but that may simply be she is more reticent.

FloofCloud · 22/01/2024 20:17

She's reticent about her own personal info, but not really anything else! She came to bag herself a footballer or such, but thought she'd hit the jackpot .. sadly though didn't realise she'd have to fit into a hierarchy rather than do her own thing with the royal titles ... hey ho

wildernesssw · 22/01/2024 20:18

Well, yes, more reticent about her feelings towards Harry I should have said.

So sick of all the boring weirdos obsessed with hating Meghan (and Harry). What's it to you? It's quite easy to guess your motivation. I say good on them for getting away. Time the whole family were put out to grass really, since the death of the Queen.

Unfortunately my father (in his 80s) is one of you, and it has made me despise him a bit. Sad, as he probably hasn't got many years left. I assume you're younger, so what's your excuse?

You despise your father? Nice. Meghan is your role model I take it?

Pemba · 02/02/2024 14:39

SammyScrounge · 02/02/2024 14:17

@SammyScrounge well a bit, particularly as all his grandchildren are all mixed race. I can only hope the creeping racism is due to him starting to lose his marbles a bit. That would be an excuse for him, I don't know what the excuse is for younger people. Of course racism (and racists) is something to despise!

The hate against Meghan is so out of proportion. I don't really keep up with all the stories as I can't be bothered with celeb gossip, but in her case it's easy to guess what is motivating most haters.

Meanwhile these people conveniently ignore Prince Andrew and his dodgy behaviour and connections, of course.

FloofCloud · 03/02/2024 09:33

@Pemba I don't think the dislike for Meghan is out of proportion, she is perpetuating it due to the lies, desperation to still use her royal status to engineer money and status, yet sticking two fingers up at the RF.

Gottseidank · 03/02/2024 10:28

According to Ingrid Seward’s new book, as reported in the Telegraph today, HMQ basically wrote off Harry after the Oprah interview. Can’t say I blame her. And PP was hardly alone in noticing Meghan’s strong resemblance (both physically and otherwise) to Wallis Simpson.

Prince Philip nicknamed Meghan ‘DoW’ because she reminded him of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor

Duke of Edinburgh used the shorthand from 'the moment he detected apparent similarity' between the American actresses

I disagree. Meghan has not helped herself but some of the media and comments on threads are out of proportion.

Meghan has given very few interviews, written articles etc. but each move she makes generates articles and comments.

I accept I am part of the issue by posting and I try to be fair in my comments.

FloofCloud · 03/02/2024 10:55

@Sisterpita - a lot of people read between the lines too about her motivations and reasonings for doing what she's doing / has done

I am aware of that but I consider the level of dislike is disproportionate.

In the same way the Sussex squad’s dislike of Catherine is disproportionate.

FloofCloud · 03/02/2024 11:19

@Sisterpita that's just bullying ... they've been accused of that too 😉

Mylovelygreendress · 03/02/2024 11:32

@Sisterpita Meghan is known to use Scobie to put out information.

Sisterpita · 03/02/2024 11:41

I am not saying Meghan, Scobie etc. are behaving impeccably.

I try to look at both sides of the debate and whilst some of the criticism is justified the level
of dislike I feel is disproportionate.

I am entitled to my opinion and we will therefore have to agree to disagree on the proportionality.

FloofCloud · 03/02/2024 11:55

Considering H&M are dropping like stones in their popularity amongst the public and celebrities/leaders etc, it does make me wonder what they'll do when everything dries up for them financially and invites to whatever ... guess that's when their gossipy lies books may start rolling out

Sisterpita · 03/02/2024 12:23

@FloofCloud I agree it is very unclear what they will do long term.

From memory Edward and Sophie tried the half in half out and it backfired. They then appeared to go very quiet and started to work quietly on the Prince’s Trust, Charities etc and 20 years later they are now well regarded working royals.

The big differences are that they did not fall out with their siblings (disagreements are natural) nor did they do tell all interviews and books about their family relationships.

I think H & M are potentially going down a very sad route rather than admitting they got it wrong. They could focus on behind the scenes charity work and slowly become part of the family. I cannot see them being working royals again but welcome on family occasions.

FloofCloud · 03/02/2024 12:49

@Sisterpita I think though that they have little interest in actually working - working only 1 hour a week for their own charity from memory, which is pretty poor - no wonder they keep losing staff

Sisterpita · 03/02/2024 12:55

You may be right.

Roussette · 03/02/2024 13:08

Considering H&M are dropping like stones in their popularity amongst the public and celebrities/leaders etc

That's your take on it. I don't see it as the same to be honest.
And maybe if the media over here would leave them alone instead of endless unpleasant articles, they could do their best to live their lives without negativity hence views that they are 'dropping like stones in popularity'

As SisterPita said... the level of dislike is disproportionate. All whilst disgraced friend of sex traffickers Andrew carries on with his life within the inner circle of RF. Yes I know he doesn't complain, course he doesn't, he wouldn't would he?

Sisterpita · 03/02/2024 13:14

I agree the media is a big part of the problem.

FloofCloud · 03/02/2024 13:40

They see straight through her too!
