Meghan & Harry Were Lying From The Start, Weren't They?

1000 replies

TheShellBeach · 15/12/2022 17:47

As per the thread title.

Right from the word go, Meghan and Harry were not telling the truth. About anything.

Now the Netflix series has come out it just proves it, over and over again.

@TheLittleDuckWhoRoared - lots of massaging truths and straw manning

@TheLittleDuckWhoRoared ... I did respond, I just ignored the bit about hateful and evil lying best friends as it wasn't something I'd said ... so summed it up in this response - apologies if it was a bit tricky to navigate my narrative

I did not “throw a tantrum” - I said it was “daft” and had stuck in my mind that the phrase “gorgeous gorgeous girl” was applied to a baby you could hardly see .

And I would never fawn over any rf photo. As if. It’s not either/or. I can be meh about the rf and be irritated by M&H - and bewildered by their hyperbolic admirers.

But why are you so upset that a random stranger made some random innocuous nice comment about a baby that you've not only memorised it, but have written multiple posts complaining about it? Why do you care so much, to do all that?

And why were you reading threads about H&M's children in the first place if you don't like them? I don't even know what photo you're referring to, it must have been something you actively sought out for some reason.

Saying something nice about a baby is hardly being a "hyperbolic admirer." The only hyperbole on Mumsnet comes from the Kate worshippers and the royalists, yet somehow they never get called fans or hyperbolic or fawning or any of the other insults that are only ever used about people who say nice/neutral things about Meghan. And the comment wasn't even about Meghan!

FFS we're at the point where you can't even coo at a baby without being accused of being a fawning Meghan fan. Just madness.

ThighMistress · 09/01/2024 13:46

Sigh. I wasn’t upset. And for the zillionth time it’s not about loving Kate et al. The thread was I suppose talking about M&H’s Costa Rica holiday and there was a long-distance blurry shot of Lilibet. The point is not whether or not I like babies or of anyone else does, it was the poster swooning over the photo in which you couldn’t see anything! And I would bet £50m that the poster in question does not roam round the internet saying “gorgeous gorgeous girl” about random pictures of toddlers 100 yards away.

It is as I have said many times the sort of thing one does (or did!) about pop stars - inventing rivalries and falling with glee upon a grainy zoom lens picture of them tying their shoelace.

Roussette · 09/01/2024 14:14

it was the poster swooning over the photo

I am sure she wasn't swooning... to swoon means to almost be overcome and faint off with admiration!

It is absolutely no different to Royalists (or those who admire the RF, whatever term you like!) going on about Charlotte, George and Louis. They do that a lot!

Gorgeous children, C so pretty, Louis what a good looking boy he is, how smart George is, Charlotte has such poise, I could eat Louis he is so gorgeous... do you pick up on those comments?

One comment about Lili and it's picked up!

Alalain · 09/01/2024 14:17

I just had a look, and I think the confusion was the poster was complimenting Meghan, with the 'gorgeous, gorgeous girl, toned legs' it did appear she was complimenting lilibeth because of calling Meghan a 'girl' rather than calling her a woman.

Flowerybeing · 09/01/2024 14:24

I guess when it comes to Meghan, attributing anything gorgeous to her is a step too far! Haha! It would be humorous if it wasn't so pathetic. I wonder if the same vitriol would be there is someone wrote 'hideous/ugly ugly girl '

myrtleWilson · 09/01/2024 14:25

Yes that's right @Alalain. It was a discussion on the Meghan out and about thread when the pap shots of the family in CR were taken. One poster commented about Lilibet having grown (and as also some discussion about disappointment of children being included by pap) Another poster QT'd the "Lilibet has grown up post" and commented something like 'stunning photo, gorgeous gorgeous girl, such toned legs' in response.
Which led to "why are you commenting on legs of a toddler" and then once it was settled legs comment related to Meghan, some bemusement as to whether poster was referring to Meghan as a girl or the "gorgeous etc" did still refer to L even though the photo was very grainy (cos you know paps) and you couldn't really make out anyone's features anyway...

But they have clearly been caught out in lies, so who could believe anything else they say? A pair of deluded self important nobodies IMO. They should have the good sense (but they won't) to shut up and get on with their 'private life' that they insist on - unless they breach that privacy themselves, for cash. No I don't hate them, I think they're a pair of idiots and it slightly annoys me whenever I hear about them or read anything. No it's nothing to do with race (another of their lies), it's about personality and behaviour.

Well, to be fair, they have told many lies but they surely also, from time to time, tell the truth.

Important to be balanced about them and not to make assumptions. They have lied and they have shit-stirred, but they must also be capable of being decent and honest.

Also important not to label those who criticise H&M's actions as "royalists" as some PP have. I am a proud member of Republic.

Love your name by the way, orange cat 😃I have a portakal at and a sari kopek

tiggergoesbounce · 10/01/2024 14:52

I for one was shocked that a documentary series about Harry and Meghan entitled Harry and Meghan was about Harry and Meghan. All of it! The nerve!

🤣🤣🤣

There are no "Meghan die hards". The most I've ever seen is posters who don't think Meghan is the literal devil. I'm certainly not a Meghan fan, I don't follow them, didn't listen to her podcast, didn't read Spare, didn't watch the Oprah special, but I still get treated like some fanpoodle just because I think the obsessive hate is insane.

If I saw any other celeb being treated this way I'd still speak out about it, nothing to do with how I feel about that celeb.

99% of the posts about Meghan are negative, since practically everyone who doesn't hate her has been bullied away. It's royal supporters who are the die-hards, they won't tolerate even the mildest criticism of William and Kate, even Andrew gets defended.

Why are you so offended at someone a forum for mums saying something nice about a BABY? Christ what kind of person takes offence at saying nice things about babies FFS.

@TheLittleDuckWhoRoared good post.im not a fan girl. saw her in suits before harry. but other than that hadn't heard of her.
but i hate the cyber bullying. so will defend her. she does not deserve the amount of awful posts/threads she gets.

Roussette · 09/01/2024 10:31

Never, ever do they think she puts a foot wrong

I think both of them have done lots wrong, but they're fallible like the rest of us and don't deserve the mauling they get day in day out

It doesn't matter how many times I say they've been stupid at times, it's said again and again what I've quoted above. Very irritating. Yes they do put a foot wrong

You never ever say when you think they’ve done something wrong though do you? It’s just glowing praise all the time. There is no balance in your posts.

Thanks!

And no it's not glowing praise.
I object to the ridiculous mauling and vilification of two human beings on the scale they receive. That OK with you?

Who cares ? You obviously do!

RosettaStormer · 11/01/2024 06:45

You care too , obviously, A lot.

Roussette · 11/01/2024 07:01

Yeah... I care not to bully and villify a couple of people I don't know, you hit the nail on the head there. 👍
I'm happy with my stance.

Rockybooboo · 11/01/2024 07:07

I'm with you there @Roussette .

SparklingBubbly · 11/01/2024 13:04

Harry sold out his entire family to the highest bidders to try and divert pretty ordinary level public scrutiny from himself, and in doing so set the dogs on his own brother’s family with absolute nutters on Twitter and TikTok relentlessly picking on Kate and her children in the most personal way. That’s Kate and her kids who haven’t aired their dirty laundry in public. The fact it hasn’t made people like Harry any more or scrutinise him any less, and if anything it’s made more people realise what an entitled, clueless brat he is - that’s just karma.

She has at times actually, I’ve seen it.

ThighMistress · 11/01/2024 14:40

Only saying Oprah was a mistake, which is a kind of not criticism, as the mistake is viewed as denting their popularity, rather than being a mistake because of the monetising of unpleasant pot shots at the rf and the “recollections”.

Normal public scrutiny includes death threats does it?

He realised Meghan was being abused by the press and some of the public. He decided to leave.

His family put themselves on sale all the time Lots of glossy magazines, souveniers etc.

He wrote his biography which tells his side of the story which lots of people do and your family is part of your life so you are going to include them. He doesn't slag them off and he certainly doesn't encourage abuse towards his SIL.

For that you think he deserves hate!

Coould we leave off discussing me please?

You don't know what I think on every one of their actions. And I don't feel obliged to discuss it with you.

I do however feel at ease with my position on the couple. Whilst they have made mistakes and done stupid things, they don't deserve the relentless campaign against them

And I would add... Harry has had countless books written about him... I have a montaage of all of them on my laptop somewhere... if he wants to write a book with his side of the story, he's welcome to.

And yes... his family court the media day in day out. Look at Zara and Mike front page cover with their new baby, pages of pics inside for £200K. So they sold pic after pic of their first born to Hello, never saw the outcry about that. That is how they introduced her to the public.

Mylovelygreendress · 11/01/2024 15:02

No@Rockybooboo as has been said hundreds of times , they decided to leave because they didn’t get the half in/ half out arrangement they wanted.
