Meghan & Harry Were Lying From The Start, Weren't They?

As per the thread title.

Right from the word go, Meghan and Harry were not telling the truth. About anything.

Now the Netflix series has come out it just proves it, over and over again.

They always seem pretty honest to me and most things they've said ring true.
But honestly I couldn't care less about any of them. Seriously, why the need to hate them?

Lockupyourbiscuits · 08/01/2024 11:27

“”Two of the Raglands, Doria's uncle and half-brother, both attended the wedding. You can see them in the footage and compare it to photos of both men on their social media accounts to see that it's the same people.””

Where has this come from ?
Multiple news sources reported Doria was the only member of Meghan s family on both sides to be invited

It’s a bit of a stretch to say they were there because someone looked like them !
I think someone is wishful thinking

She didn’t want them there that’s all

FloofCloud · 08/01/2024 12:02

@TheLittleDuckWhoRoared - cute anecdote 🤯 she lied and said the 'real wedding' ... lies lies lies lies and more lies - she's untrustworthy and a liar 🤥

The wedding was six years ago! How much has happened since then. Covid, several wars, four prime ministers, Lucy Letby, the storming of the White House, the Queen's death, Caroline Flack' s suicide, Sarah Everard's murder, partygate. The list is endless. How are we worried about a wedding six years ago?

I am not the slightest bit worried so don’t concern yourself about me ! I was simply clarifying a fact .
Strange place this . Anything negative to do with H and M ( plenty to choose from !) such as the wedding or OW interview are downplayed by their loyal band of supporters as “ years ago” yet some posters repeatedly bring up interviews by Diana , Charles and Sarah from the 90s !
Quite telling .

That was claimed on a thread ages ago and was disproved . Doria was the only family member.

Ollybollydobdobflowers · 08/01/2024 12:10

To be fair, the wedding might have been six years ago (and very lovely it was), but it was Harry and Meghan who revived the not so positive background stories in their more recent interviews. Nobody would have been talking about real ceremonies and all that guff if they hadn't brought it up in Oprah etc.

I've never seen a single article about Doria's brother and uncle being there. There's loads of positive articles about the wedding, not just negative ones, it would surely have been picked up as a story in the celeb mags and positive media coverage. Why weren't they sat with Doria in the family pew? Their visible presence would have done a lot to deflect the negativity around Meghan's side being absent, and would have been a lovely celebration of people of colour coming into the extended family. Also, could one of them have walked her down the aisle instead of Prince Charles? That would have been awesome, and almost as much an iconic moment of the royals embracing diversity as Meghan herself was.

Roussette · 08/01/2024 12:18

Oh god, we're back to the wedding from 5 years ago.

Actually, it tells me something good. There's nothing to say about them so posters have to regurgitate old news. We'll be back to coat flicking, avocados and the wrong way to read a book to your 1 year old, in no time!

As for the GoldenGlobes... fantastic! They've arrived! Because anyone of note gets a roasting at these award ceremonies!

And my best friends refer to their church ceremony as their "real wedding", are they liars too?

Lots of people consider their vow exchange to be their "real" wedding, and not the legal ceremony bit.

Oprah was three years ago, why does Meghan telling some random cute anecdote to a chat show host live rent free in your head so many years later? What about Meghan obsesses you so much? There are celebs I dislike, I just don't pay attention to them. Not spend my life obsessing about every little thing they said and did years ago.

^^ This.

Me too. There are a couple of famous people who annoy me. I avoid threads on here, social media about them, articles in the media etc. It's very very easy to do.

It wasn't "disproved." There were 600 guests at the wedding, only maybe 150 or 200 were ever identified publicly. There were hundreds of people at the wedding we don't know the identity of.

We know that lots of Meghan's old college friends were at the wedding and they weren't identified till later. Not everyone chases the spotlight.

@TheLittleDuckWhoRoared - I just
Can't abide liars! It's clear she said 'three days before our wedding we got married... ' ... lies! Even the arch bishop had to call her out on that lie

As for old lies ... well there's plenty of newer ones ... 2 hour near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi ... 🙄🤡

So you do you think my friends are hateful liars for referring to their non-legal church wedding ceremony as "the day we got married"?

Do you think every couple who goes to a registry office then has a proper wedding elsewhere, referring to anything other than the registry office as "their wedding" are evil liars?

Tons of people refer to non-legal ceremonies as their wedding, it's completely normal. Obviously Meghan didn't mean it was the legally binding one, but that to them as a couple a backyard vow exchange was the 'real' wedding.

The car chase was well-documented by press, police and public. It was just twisted by haters. The whole thing from beginning to end (including the time the NYPD sheltered them inside a police station) took two hours, and only a very short part of that was high speed. No one ever claimed they were being chased at high speed for two hours non-drop.

The taxi driver who claimed not to have seen anything wasn't even there! He collected them after the chase had ended. Just another bloodsucker with his hand stuck out trying to cash in.

NYPD don't remove extremely high profile VIPs from their vehicles and shelter them in a police station for no reason, though no doubt you'll come up with some conspiracy theory about the NYPD too.

If a pap had driven 35mph in a 30 zone after Kate for 30 seconds we'd never hear the end of it. Harry's mum DIED being chased by paps, and he's attacked for having a trauma response to paps chasing him badly enough the NYPD felt they had to intercede? Shameful.

The whole Royal family are dishonest. Even the concept kept of monarchy is dishonest. Charles and William are flawed men who may not have achieved much if they'd been civilians but we are brainwashed into thinking there special.

StrawberryJellyBelly · 08/01/2024 13:36

A rehearsal days before a wedding cannot be compared to a wedding with 2 parts to it no matter how hard a person tries to sell
it that way.

ThighMistress · 08/01/2024 14:39

Just to return to the wedding guests, if anyone cares to do a search, there was a long discussion about this some years ago.

A poster claimed that a black man was Meghan’s uncle. He very much was not!

Look, I understand having relatives who don’t pass muster (who would want the Markle crew at their world televised wedding?!) but I think M&H went too far the other way inviting celebrities they did not know . At the time I believed she was a top actress moving in A List circles, but we woz duped.

And, to forestall the “it was years ago” crowd, M&H drew attention to the wedding afterwards. Otherwise I’m sure no one would be minded to forensically examine it.

Ollybollydobdobflowers · 08/01/2024 14:43

@TheLittleDuckWhoRoared
Sorry, but you can't compare college friends with family members, especially when such a big hoo-ha was made about Doria being alone. They don't need to chase the spotlight, their presence just needed to be acknowledged and appreciated, and I can't find anything that acknowledges them, there's never been a single comment I have heard in the media about them having been there. It would have been on the Wikipedia list of guests, surely, added by someone like yourself who wants to debunk the common held view that Doria was alone. I'm not saying you are wrong, just that it's unlikely to have never been mentioned anywhere in all of the extensive coverage and many books.

FloofCloud · 08/01/2024 15:17

@Rockybooboo - I agree! Not ALL the RF but many of them! But this thread is about H&M

FloofCloud · 08/01/2024 15:27

@TheLittleDuckWhoRoared - lots of massaging truths and straw manning

upinaballoon · 08/01/2024 16:36

I wouldn't refer to what the Archbishop of Canterbury said after the Oprah programme to be 'calling Meghan out'. My recollection is that he didn't say anything for a few days. I think a spokesman said something about possible confusion blahbety blah. I think a few days after the OW interview the Archbishop was in Italy and was asked point blank which was the actual wedding. In the C of E you need 2 witnesses at a wedding. He's likely to have known that - that is an English understatement from me. So he said that the Saturday service was the actual wedding. I understand that he isn't everyone's cup of tea so many might hurry to slag him off, but I expect he said it in a quiet, pleasant way. That seems to be his style.

I will be slagged off for mentioning it, but on these threads people talk about the Royal Family from generations ago, whenever it suits them.

That Saturday morning I'd got my feet up in front of the telly and a man came to the door about plants in a field. "Be quick", I said, "it's the wedding." Thinking - "Can't be chatting to you half the morning" .

Even die-hard Meghan fans must admit she’s at the very least clumsy with her words if you have to paraphrase everything she says in the most generous possible light in order to ensure she hasn’t accused the Archbishop of Canterbury of committing a crime or that she meant her family are unconsciously biased not racist or actually she meant Archie would face a metaphorical press pen if he went to school in the UK… or ok, so the South African cast member from the Lion King says he has never actually met her or compared her to Madiba, but if he had he definitely would have called her Meghan Mandela… ok so the BA cabin crew didn’t get down on bended knee and remove their hats which they don’t wear and thank her for her 12 seconds of service to the country but the vibes were definitely true?

…And that’s all before you even get to defending Harry who is even worse!

They have achieved the impossible and made me feel sorry for Charles lol

Even if she is clumsy with her words, I still don't get the hatred towards her. All the Royal family have messed up even Elizabeth II? Why do you feel sort for Charles?

She’s totally out for herself. Doesn’t care who gets hurt or embarrassed or inconvenienced in her rush to promote her own interests. She has no regard for truth or facts. She uses people and discards them to suit her own agenda. At the same time she paints herself as
a wonderful philanthropist who wants to work for the good of humanity. It’s nauseating.

It’s not hate, it’s recognising a liar. How come nobody ever moans about Harry h8rz?! And if it was Kate constantly making stuff up, if Kate was going around saying her big public wedding was fake, her in-laws are racist, someone from the Lion King compared her to Mandela, BA grovelled with gratitude… are you telling me nobody would mention that?!
