Meghan & Harry Were Lying From The Start, Weren't They?

As per the thread title.

Right from the word go, Meghan and Harry were not telling the truth. About anything.

Now the Netflix series has come out it just proves it, over and over again.

She lost me when she said she hadn't heard of Prince Harry but then was pictured in her younger years standing outside Buckingham
Palace or Windsor castle, I can't remember which and also in her teenage bedroom with posters of Princess Diana on her wall!

Meghan said that got MARRIED.

Exactly. She didn’t say blessing, she didn’t say rehearsal, she said “we got married”. The Archbishop had to refute this and it was in the papers.
I understand people wanting to defend her if she didn’t actually say what people claim she did. But she said it, on camera, and received a surprised response from Oprah.

Viviennemary · 02/01/2024 19:35

I agree she lied. I was amazed and took her for her word. Yes that the official marriage took place the day before. Then the archbishop or whoever had to say no that wasn't the case. She tried to trash a multi million pound ceremony paid for by us mugs. Its a very good thing they've gone IMHO.

This was a barefaced lie designed to make it look like they were getting one over on the RF

No. It was them giving the public the middle finger.

I agree, when she said that it really got my hackles up, all that money and it was apparently not a real wedding ... then the lies started being unlocked and the real truth spilled ... whenever I hear 'my truth' it just, to me, means my lies / half truths to make a spin on what's happened. As far as I'm concerned, like the courts, lie and get caught and you can't be a trusted.... talking of courts, wasn't Meghan found to be lying in court too 🤔

RosettaStormer · 05/01/2024 09:14

It seems that Meghan , her father and her half siblings all have a vindictive quality and seem unable to tell the truth.

I can't profess to know they much about MM but didn't her mother abandon her for many years too?? Don't know any reasons but she brings an angle of dropping family ... any MM seems to have dropped both her family and ILs.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 05/01/2024 10:29

To bring it up again
The fact she didn’t invite the raglands to her wedding is very suspicious
They don’t appear to have done anything “wrong” like her dads side so there is a reason

Especially since her uncle helped her secure work experience ? In the embassy Argentina

How curious she wouldn’t invite him and were they at her first wedding ?

Surely they would have been higher on the invite list than the Clooneys and Oprah

Im afraid no one can surely deny this is a very very strange way to treat your family

The pattern seems to be repeating and it is not pointing to a very nice person taken at face value

Mylovelygreendress · 05/01/2024 16:09

@Lockupyourbiscuits i could be wrong ( and I will be jumped on if I am !) but I am sure I read that Meghan claimed she wasn’t allowed to invite some of her family . Didn’t someone ( niece?) say that Meghan told her she wasn’t allowed to invite her ?

Lockupyourbiscuits · 05/01/2024 16:14

Well I’m sure that’s what Meghan did tell her and the reason was to do with Samantha possibly- that is obviously only what we know Meghan told her niece
I don’t think that would apply to the Raglands
Of course there may be an explanation but why has no one queried the fact that not a single one of Doria s relatives were there ?

Its just not been mentioned or questioned
Odd

JSMill · 05/01/2024 19:10

The story about M not being allowed to invite her niece is just another story that sounded weird and didn't make sense.

ThePoshUns · 05/01/2024 19:37

I'm sure this has been disproved as well and MM was told she could invite any family that she wanted

Viviennemary · 06/01/2024 08:05

Even her own father wasn't invited. According to Thomas Markle he did
not receive an official invitation to the wedding. Now it either got lost in the post or somebody is lying.

Apparently Doria received a hand delivered scroll .

StrawberryJellyBelly · 06/01/2024 09:48

The fact Harry hadn’t even met his future father in law prior to the engagement was a very clear indication of just how dysfunctional the whole saga is.

SparklingBubbly · 06/01/2024 10:32

Yeah sorry Meghan but that was just a lie 🤐🤐🤣

Ohhh sorry I’d soooo love to have you messing around and Fing up my wedding, embarrassing family, but random nameless jobsworths at the palace (who outrank the actual monarch) said no… boohoo, such a shame, awks, left eye tear

It’s like when you don’t want to do something as a teen so you say your parents won’t let you, or you don’t want to go to someone’s middle-of-nowhere, drinks-are-not-free, Friday-because -it’s-cheaper wedding so you say your boss won’t let you have the day off.

Guilty of the wedding one !!

ThePoshUns · 08/01/2024 08:14

Serious shade thrown at H&M at the Golden Globes last night. They don't seem to have any credibility left on Tinsel Town. Might be time to get a real job.

ThePoshUns · 08/01/2024 08:22

In fairness the host also took aim at the RF comparing the Crown to Succession.

Alalain · 08/01/2024 08:37

I read an interview with the Irish TV vet, said he treated Meghan's beagle for two broken legs, and then couldn't believe it when he got an invite to their wedding. He left early as he knew no one there. It was all very, very strange.

While I don't blame her for not inviting her half siblings as they are utterly toxic, it's still very hard to comprehend why her mother was the only relative invited.

Why on earth didn’t they just have a small quiet wedding like Anne or Zara?

It does sound like they would have been happier in the long run with a small private wedding.

While it was Meghan's second marriage, it was Harry's first so maybe he really wanted what he had always expected, i.e. a big Royal wedding to his new royal bride. I do think Meghan at that point also wanted and expected all the Royal trappings.
