Will Harry and William ever repair their falling out

Sadly, it just seems to be getting worse. I don’t really care or take any notice of relationships in the celebrity or world or the relationships of public figures, but I do find it quite sad that there are two brothers who were probably very close at one point and brought closer together by the premature death of their mother at a young age and are now so distant from each other, and I don’t just mean geographically.

I can’t see Harry and William ever making amends, what with all this Netflix stuff, the Oprah stuff and his new book.

It just seems a bit sad!

OP posts:

I wonder what William said in that text. Probably even he wouldn't have expected its arrival to be filmed but of course he will have known that anything he said would be used as evidence against him as they say.

So it definitely won't have been what he really wanted to say let alone near what I would have said.

I'm going with "Well done little brother. You must be very proud of yourself".

Most Americans don't do irony so that's why they didn't show the content of the text.

HettysTether · 16/12/2022 08:46

@ShamedBySiri that scene was ridiculously contrived, high drama in the kitchen, Meghan bitching about William "your brother". It's so embarrassing for the Sussexes, very nouveau. It takes a certain kind of idiocy to bitch in this way on TV about the future British Monarch. Meghan and Harry have shown their true colours and the programme will not age well. One of the key message I take from it is how sneering Meghan is about the UK, the royal family and British people. She does not try and hide it either 😂

Funnily enough in one of the episodes, one of the interviewees is saying how much Harry adores and respects his grandfather, isn't this rather odd seeing how racist Philip allegedly was? So many inconsistencies in their narrative.

ThighMistress · 16/12/2022 09:27

I can’t see a making up now. It’s one thing to hurl brickbats at the Institution, but the personal jibes at Kate and the direct hits at William must mean that’s it.

Harry was delayed in going to Balmoral because Meghan wanted to go. I know Fans will say, “But he wanted his wife by his side” but the Palace did not want Omid Scobie announcing the Queen’s death nor a blow by blow account of the deathbed scene relayed on Netflix.

I'm one of three siblings, who were all very close, we never thought anything would come between us.

3yrs ago the middle sibling made a series of extremely poor life choices that have blown apart our family. I think I have spoken possibly 10 words to her since the day everything fell apart, the oldest sibling has spoken to her more but no where near how we all used to be.

To me things are broken now and they can't be fixed, too much has happened for things to go back to how they were or any sense of normal. There would always be an undertone of what happened and how things played out.

So I can understand completely why William wouldn't want to kiss and make up. Trust has been broken/manipulated and it never fully comes back. Yes it's sad but it's a consequence of actions.

Ah Whats I was moved by your post. You described a situation similar to me in a more succinct way than I could put it and it feels a bit better to hear from someone else with that kind of experience.

You spend a lot of time second guessing and blaming yourself, even when the other person is way out of line.

Similarly I think there's little for William to do but not respond in public. I don't see Harry's behaviour as worth dignifying and there's a bloody book to come yet Hmm.

Quite

Even if William was minded to put out some kind of statement, doing so before he's seen what else is coming down the pipeline could be less than wise

Even if they act like aged teenagers, her biological age is a fact and she won't appeal as much to him in a few years time. Using that much botox/filler (and without any judgment, she uses a lot) eventually causes the facial muscles to give up and go wonky so you can no longer do it anymore. Those chemical hair treatments are also brutal on the scalp. In her natural state (with all the feminist bells and whistles attached to it as she will do), she will not appeal as much to him while he will still be in the eligible bachelor age range, especially in California where men seem to settle down later in those circles.
Their relationship may have been based on the conventional love, lust, attraction in the beginning but it is increasingly cemented by spite, bitterness, dissatisfaction and paranoia. They have reflected it out to the world in huge quantities via media and it will reflect back and encase them within a structure built of those negative sentiments. Nothing positive can come of selling your soul to the highest bidder.

When Harry and Megan went to Africa together she was sans makeup and very natural. He was still attracted to her.

Beyond looks it isn't so easy for Harry to find a new relationship. He comes with a huge amount of baggage.

What a way to talk about a woman.

She will no longer have any value when her hair isn't as shiny or her face sags?

They seem like they have a lot in common in terms of values and interests.

bakalava · 16/12/2022 12:07

@Ivyonafence Well done for picking out a single detail of a long post. The fact is that they cannot stop projecting a facade. Part of that is her look which is heavily artificial and being expensively maintained to beat the clock.

The Queen was naturally gorgeous and glowing well into her nineties. Part of living authentically is to spend less time on faking youth, altruism, happiness and lovingness and actually living away from a lens, in your natural state and seeing if there is any incentive to carry on with the perfect life act indefinitely, without a camera in sight. I have seen no evidence that she is able to do this and I am certain that was at the heart of her depression while living in the UK.

I also wonder what will happen next.
Once they burn through their millions from this series.
They can’t continue to milk the grievance but they’ll need some source of income.

They'll turn on each other, refuel the fire and provide another source of income.

I just cannot see them living into old age together.

BlueKaftan · 16/12/2022 14:07

William and Kate will get divorced at some point. That little house on the Windsor estate is her house, post William. She and William already arrive separately to most events.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 16/12/2022 14:30

he can no longer be trusted to keep royal family business private.

I think that's a big problem for the future. I guess he's on good terms with the York princesses, but I can't see the Tindalls or Philips feeling relaxed around him. I wonder what the Wessexes make of it all.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 16/12/2022 14:31

It's not surprising that this was picked out. It's glaringly misogynistic and racist.

And what are they going to say. 40 years of ‘the monarchy were mean to us’? They don’t have anything else.

They’ve done the Netflix deal and the book deal, that’s there big pay day. They don’t need to say anything else.

They’ll pick up advertising for whatever they want (the doc was like one long instagram feed to set them up as influencers), and then they’ll get paid well for doing after dinner and special event speeches, which never say anything new anyway - they’ll just have standard wildlife / women / mental health / military speeches that they’ll trot out for decades with minor changes.

They’ll get paid to be the big draw and press a bit of flesh, not to say anything new, same as every other celeb and VIP who does this stuff.

I don’t have much time for her but this is misogyny at it’s finest. It’s also bollocks.

Meghan is smart and she’s a go getter. She’d be fine on her own. She’d get 50% of the money they have, and she’d build a decent career as an influencer taking in advertising / after dinner speaker / talk show host perhaps. She will feel she has purpose.

She’ll always look good for her age, she’s rich, and has good celeb status. If he went off she’d find herself a tech billionaire turned philanthropist looking for a 2nd wife / power couple set up.

Harry will be fine too, but he’s not the brightest thus not the most attractive to somewhere as achievement focused as LA.

I hate to break it to you, but no, just because you don’t like her/them doesn’t mean their lives are about to crumble - plenty of people build careers like theirs an do fine all their lives.

You sound like a mental mystic Meg.

Good description of yourself. Most Californian billionaires marry much younger even second time around. Do you actually know anything about that culture/region or are you simply licking out of blind obedience and denial. Have they offered you any of the Netflix fee or paid you anything back for the £32 million pound wedding? I am waiting for my cheque. Then, I'll withdraw.

Harry got to Balmoral last when they Queen died as he’d been removed from all the Palace plans to transport immediate family their on private or military transport asap.

that no one, not his Dad, not his brother, none of the logistical staff thought - or did think and choose not to - contact him and get him there given he happened to be in the U.K. at the time was very cruel.

im in camp Harry. He’s doing sterling work calling out the toxic nature of the royal family and palace institution.

his beef is with the press, the palace staff that used stories about him and Meghan to cover up other bad stories about other family members (like the affair rumour) and his family for denying that happened.

it’s worthy of a ‘but we brought you up in stately homes’ thread of its own.

toxic, controlling, gaslighting family and institution.

he and Meghan are well out of there, it’s 100% the RFs loss and he’ll be proved right about all of his critique of the institution.

Oh come off it. The queen probably wanted to die in peace. I wouldn't invite fighting family members to my death, so why should she?

Bearing in mind H & M’s public image is ‘true love forever and ever and ever’ (which I’d like to think is true as I quite like them but I accept I have no real idea), the idea that they would pay someone to suggest what may happen on their divorce (even positive suggestions) is laughable.

Not the way they spend money. They’ll need more if they are going to gang into the private jets, multimillion security arrangements and couture dresses!

Not until Harry and Meghan split.

This.

Give it 20 years. Very sad.

handholdin · 16/12/2022 18:07

Wills and Kate were happy when Harry was playing second fiddle to them but as soon as he got his own wife and family they didn't like it. On top of that Harry and Megan were getting some good publicity at the beginning which overshadowed wills and Kate. Seems to me that there is jealousy on both sides.

Why is it not feasible that the jealously was on wills and Kate's side. "Bullshit" isn't actually a response to my point it only serves the narrative of unconscious biases on the royal family and tabloids side towards Harry and Megan.
