Last thread has filled up so I thought I'd create another to chat trailers and teasers while we hang about waiting for better more truth bombs to drop in the main event.

I'm now up to their time in Vancouver. Covid is after them and about to shut down the borders so that they are stuck in Canada. They are marooned on Vancouver Island with their security about to be taken from them and everyone in the world knowing exactly where they live.

Once again, when you consider the people who were truly exposed and threatened during Covid, this perspective on their situation is tone deaf to the point of being offensive. At any point they could have boarded a private jet and escaped to any number of royal properties or rentals anywhere in the world.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 15/12/2022 16:03

Perhaps her sacrifice was taking Harry with her ?

Bit harsh on the Americans though. I don't think we should really be offloading our dickheads to other countries.

Rinoachicken · 15/12/2022 16:04

They have released LOTS of full face photos in the documentary

Rinoachicken · 15/12/2022 16:05

Not that I think any little kids really look like anyone - they are just round cheeks, bigs eyes and smiles at that age

Ohnonevermind · 15/12/2022 16:05

I can see a family resemble between Sammantha and Meghan ? Same facial structure

my daughter looks like my sister.

they are related, it’s called genetics, how is that strange 🤔

Roussette · 15/12/2022 16:07

Because I barely know what Lili looks like and I've seen all 6 episodes.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 15/12/2022 16:07

What a strange thing to say, that the little girl looks like her mother's half sister

My nephew by my half-sister looks like a little me. He looks far more like me than any of my half-siblings. Poor bairn, hopefully he'll grow out of it.

adriftabroad · 15/12/2022 16:08

Yes, DD has exactly the same curly mop of hair as her half sister. Not a curl otherwise in the whole family.

Ohnonevermind · 15/12/2022 16:08

Some of your co-posters saw a resemblance between Meghan and her niece, was that strange too? I don’t remember you commenting on that 🤔

But i guess you see that they did release a lot of footage of the kids, the price was obviously right

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 15/12/2022 16:11

(Are they living in this guy's home for free??)

bakalava · 15/12/2022 16:11

Samantha is a decent looking woman. Some people will even ignore the workings of genetics to score a point.

Roussette · 15/12/2022 16:12

Some of your co-posters saw a resemblance between Meghan and her niece was that strange too? I don’t remember you commenting on that

Because I didn't see it?

I don't see very single post on the very many H&M threads

Rinoachicken · 15/12/2022 13:34

*mirror back to him not morris! (Though maybe a bit of morris dancing would be helpful who knows!)

Morris Dancing Therapy could be a thing. Like a Ye Olde Soundbath with added dancing and beer.

And he goes, "we appreciate everything you did for our country.

I'm not sure what she thinks she did do for the country

she left

...after doing just 72 days work.

ivykaty44 · 15/12/2022 16:19

I think the biggest part of the, very slow indulgent program is being lost and thats the part the media play in everyday life in the uk. The media have their own narrative and why politically we are in the fecking mess we are in - same here. Im not a fan of either the RF or H&M but episode 4 starts on the media and how it manipulates, this ive heard a few times before but its surely no way to live

Quinner · 15/12/2022 16:20

The fetishisation of their ‘love’ was almost embarrassing to witness. It’s quite pathetic and teenage - no one understands our love etc etc

I think they are totally right in that the media are appalling and if it’s true that Williams office gave stories on Harry to protect William well then shame on William.

Harry, however is a deeply damaged sad and angry man. He clearly hasn’t at all processed his mothers death and Meghan doesn’t seem to be helping in this regard.
You would like to think he could be happy but instead I think they will become more and more of a laughing stock and the mud won’t really stick to William

MardyHa · 15/12/2022 16:24

I think they’ve come across reasonably at points, in that they seem to believe what they’re saying and the press, genuinely, are horrible. But there also has been a lot of support for them.

Sometimes though I think it’s the unintended moments that are illuminating. In Episode 3 (I think), they’re visiting military families I think and doing the whole ‘I understand the ‘normal’ people’ thing, but H completely ignores the server putting down his food. It’s the mother in me maybe but I wanted to say ‘say thank you!’ and just thought it was a little glimpse into how you treat people who serve / work for you.

bakalava · 15/12/2022 16:28

Well, I do worry for Haitch. The reaction stateside has not been great. Even Gayle King was lukewarm. This is a project all about sacrificing Haitch to make M's childhood dreams for recognition come true. The signs are that she won't be adored for going candid and showing the world 'the real her'. She may have been a PR agent's nightmare but she needed their services more than most other aspiring stars ant a time when she cut loose.

I hope she doesn't take it out on him and withdraw the mothering and smothering to go her own way. If every illusion of freedom feels like a prison and you plough your way through every route in the mirror maze then the only path left is the exit.

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 15/12/2022 16:30

Yes; I'm not his fan but when she pulls out the rug from under him, it's going to be grim. What will he have left?

It's too bad he can't get set up with a discreet, experienced psychiatrist far from the celebrity/royal realms.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 15/12/2022 16:31

just thought it was a little glimpse into how you treat people who serve / work for you

Yep. Whilst I don't automatically like people who are polite to waiters and waitresses, I automatically dislike anyone who is rude or ignores them.

I wonder if part of the problem is that H&M actually were really quite rude to their staff. While they view the rumours of such behaviour as evidence that the royal family were briefing against them, it could just as easily be the case that the staffers who spoke to the press were the ones the royal family were unable to keep a lid on. What we need is a comparison - how many of H&M's staff quit or moved on per year vs how many of W&Ks did.

Fladdermus · 15/12/2022 16:34

ThighMistress · 15/12/2022 10:40

I read ages ago from a credible source that H&M had asked for Windsor Castle(nice and castley - mediaeval banquet, even, and near Heathrow). The plan seemed to be to set up a more glamorous rival court full of A listers and leave fusty old William and Kate to the community centres in Huddersfield. Clearly the plan got the bum’s rush, as no way does the “spare” get to bag the best property.

I didn't know that but it fits with their whole messed up perception of themselves. They grievance is that they aren't top dogs. Harry said so in the documentary, he felt he was doing the job better. And Meghan said so in the Oprah interview when she moaned about 'others' getting the roles they wanted, which can only mean William and Kate.

MardyHa · 15/12/2022 16:36

Did Oprah really comment on their home?

ivykaty44 · 15/12/2022 16:38

I think they are totally right in that the media are appalling and if it’s true that Williams office gave stories on Harry to protect William well then shame on William.

This was the gossip back when it was happening, its not new news. its how the media operate, they decide wha news will be published and about who.

Many decades ago I was told about the affair between Edwina Curry and John Major, this was roughly 12/15 years before the news broke. It was explained to me then that this wouldn't come out in the newspapers as they wanted JM to be PM and therefore though everyone not he press knew, it wouldn't be published. Thats how UK newspapers operate, its not journalism but about manipulation and making money

ivykaty44 · 15/12/2022 16:40

I wonder if part of the problem is that H&M actually were really quite rude to their staff.

yes

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 15/12/2022 16:44

I'm just up to the bit when Meghan is so thankful to that guy for giving them his Californian house and rescuing them. A bit of me did think, "hang on, I thought that was Harry's role?". They seem to act like abandoned children needing rescuing rather than millionaires in their late 30s/40s.

And yes, I think it's quite credible the stories about H&M upsetting staff.
