Last thread has filled up so I thought I'd create another to chat trailers and teasers while we hang about waiting for better more truth bombs to drop in the main event.

I haven't seen it yet but my thoughts on what I've picked up so far...

I think it's a shame if they were really complaining about Nottingham Cottage, it looks like a lovely and characterful home and as others have pointed out, Kate and William lived there for a while. If they felt it was a slight on them, that was silly IMO and definitely the kind of thought you keep to yourself.

Re William and the shouting, I can believe that. Purely anecdotal but I believe he's always had a temper and could be very nasty if it came to it. OTOH arguments happen in families, emotions were running high and I'm sure Harry was angry as well. But I believe him when he says he was terrified, he was probably an anxious wreck anyway throughout that period and would have obviously felt very attacked. Putting that into context that it does sound as if KP were the source of many of the negative stories about H&M, I think Harry is deeply angry and hurt and burning his bridges with William now. It's very sad but honestly not that surprising. I'm not sure they've handled things terribly well, but if my brother was using the press to plant negative stories about my spouse, I wouldn't be particularly forgiving either. Caveat: obviously we don't know William's side of things. But it sounds like it was pretty ruthless and the relationship between the brothers is now dead and buried, sadly.

WRT their comments about jealousy over someone coming in and doing the job better, I think that's actually true but may have been better left unsaid as well. But this is them having their say and I think they felt justifiably that they were working hard and bringing a lot of good publicity to the Royals while being treated pretty shabbily by way of the press.

I'll comment more when I've actually watched it. 😊

But this is them having their say and I think they felt justifiably that they were working hard and bringing a lot of good publicity to the Royals while being treated pretty shabbily by way of the press.

This is contradictory if all of the press was / is racist, evil and bad.

They did get good publicity from many media and SM outlets as well as enduring unacceptable overt and covert racist, misogynistic and classist coverage.

It’s a much more complex situation.

He thinks he is going through a profound, spiritual awakening but he has just been dropped into the glitziest sewer in the world full of hustlers and vacant, programmable shells in place of complete human beings.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 15/12/2022 13:31

I'm looking forward to watching the whole thing tonight.

The Sandringham Summit thing reminds me of when I had a very heated row with my sister about 5 years ago which she described as me "screaming" at her and that I "frightened" her. I think she honestly believes that happened (it didn't). Nobody screamed and the only thing she was frightened of was being faced with someone who was no longer willing to kowtow to her demands. I strongly suspect the same thing happened between H and W. Both angry, raised voices and at least one person who is so used to getting their own way that being told "no" is terrifying.

Allegedly.

But there's no proof and it's just speculation and rumour.

Actually there plenty of proof, you only have to look at the results from "The Frappening"that started in August, 2014 when an iCloud hack resulted in nude photos of dozens of celebrities to be released online.

'I agree, he seems to be conflating Meghan and Diana and know wants to save Meghan to redeem the poor 12-year old who couldn't save his mum. He needs more support than a Netflix tell-all can provide'

Yes and it is all so very sad and quite disturbing. Why isn't anyone helping him, why are they feeding his paranoia?

Because he only surrounds himself with others who will morris back to him
his own narrative and perspective. He has developed seriously maladaptive schemas, to be expected given his childhood. They impact how he perceives the world and situations.

Everyone has schemas, but when you have experienced trauma you can develop maladaptive ones which can become problematic as they distort your perception of the world and leave you feeling very afraid and vulnerable and like the world is a very dangerous place for you.

It is very possible, with therapy, to challenge and change those schemas, but Harry only surrounds himself with people who reinforce his schemas. He see the world as a dangerous place, where he and his wife are persecuted and at risk. Anyone who challenges that view is cut off and rejected. He only tolerates people around who reinforce those beliefs.

It is incredibly harmful, for him
and his relationships with others. But I don’t see that he’s at all aware of his schemas (not getting the right sort of therapy - it would be covered in trauma therapy) - if he is aware he is certainly not making any effort to challenge them.

Does a 'racy' past matter these days? I get being an escort or porn star might be a step too far but racy can mean anything.

Yacht girl - according to another thread on them- there's no evidence so it's just bad gossip and possibly spite.

Pearl664 · 15/12/2022 13:34

I wish now I hadn't cancelled my Netflix subscription so I could watch the bit where Meghan's talking about being on the plane! Sacrifice!!!

On a serious note, I've been thinking about this all morning. I really hope that they've said what they felt they needed to say and can now move on and live life quietly in their lovely home with their beautiful children. I hope their marriage survives as I think Harry would be utterly broken if it didn't. I worry about how that would affect him. Let's hope they stay happy together.

Rinoachicken · 15/12/2022 13:34

*mirror back to him not morris! (Though maybe a bit of morris dancing would be helpful who knows!)

DunkingMyDonuts · 15/12/2022 13:34

A "racy" past oh my word 😂the 1920s called and want you back 😂

If we are going down that route then Camilla is far racier than Meghan. Mrs Tampax clearly was happy to be a spoke in the marriage of D and C. No scruples at all.

Roussette · 15/12/2022 13:36

A racy past is something one of the Crawley's from Downton Abbey would've said.
It's the same as calling her a 'showgirl'.
We are 2022 not beginning of last century.

It says a lot about the people saying it, trying to bring a woman down by picking at her past in this way.

Ohnonevermind · 15/12/2022 13:44

You’ve got to laugh at how Harry had ‘outgrown the U.K.’

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 15/12/2022 13:45

When Harry says that Nottingham Cottage has “really low ceilings. I don't know who was there before, they must have been very short,” and Meghan adds, "He [Harry] would just hit his head constantly in that place because he's so tall”, are they implying in a stealthy roundabout way that William, who was living there before Harry, and seemingly without complaint, wears shoe lifts when out in public and is actually the shorter brother?

bakalava · 15/12/2022 13:45

Those are the usual cliched reactions but I know what I know and so do many others. It is definitely not from gossip websites.

MarshaMelrose · 15/12/2022 13:45

I've been reading the reviews from the USA and they're very sympathetic to HAM and believe this will explode the RF. So, as the US is their target audience, I'd think they'll both be happy that it's,been well received. Proviso, these are the early reviews and might change? But so far so good, for the Sussexes. And I think having Beyonce call you brave must raise your standing with younger people, who are the ones they're most hoping to appeal to.

mnenomic · 15/12/2022 13:47

Tawdry tittle-tattle.

I am so extremely surprised that in all of this, no one thought to mention to H&M that the simplest, best and most protective and therapeutic thing of all would have been for them not to look at social media and gossip columns and tabloid front pages? Instead, it seems they scrutinised and felt they wanted to respond to every single one, which is a recipe for disaster.

I don't think they will firstly they've got the book coming out in January. I assume Meghan will also do a book at some point. The Netflix series didn't cover the Queens funeral, I'm sure there were a lot of slights there that will need covering.

Also it wouldn't surprise me given what they were saying before the the Netflix series came out about their story being told through someone elses voice (a documentarian they picked) that they could well do another series themselves rehashing it all again and it would get a fair amount of viewers even though we've heard it all before. This will not be the last time we hear their "truth"

I agree I hope they stay together because you know if they didn't they would be airing their grievances with each other via the media.

I do wonder if Associated Newspapers would consider suing, since they've been accused of causing the death of an unborn baby.

It's also disturbing that he has chosen to ally himself with the York family.

I would imagine the US will be baffled by Loose Women. I'm looking forward to Piers Morgan's response.

Yes, you can tell a lot about people from the company they keep

Ohnonevermind · 15/12/2022 13:53

It’s a pity they didn’t get the pilot onto the documentary so he could wipe a tear from his left eye 😢while explaining to us all how in the history of the world, no sacrifice has been greater than Harry and Meghan’s

CoffeeBoy · 15/12/2022 13:55

It’ll be interesting to see if the press can find the flight attendant who supposedly knelt down by her and thanked her for her service.

i suspect it will be like the imaginary cast member of the Lion King where the only SA cast member says he never said anything to her about Nelson Mandela like she said someone did.
