Last thread has filled up so I thought I'd create another to chat trailers and teasers while we hang about waiting for better more truth bombs to drop in the main event.

But I don't think he will because of Eugenie and Beatrice.

HaveYouSeenNancy · 15/12/2022 12:42

Harry and Andrew are close (the first time Meghan met HMTQ they were at Andrew's house), so I'd be very surprised if he mentions him.

I find it quite disturbing that Harry is looking for similarities to his mum, with his wife. Isn't that a bit weird?

Roussette · 15/12/2022 12:42

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 15/12/2022 12:40

I think people would have more respect for Harry if he did speak out.

He would be annihilated. I can see the posts on here.

"How DARE he speak about this when the King, Anne, Edward hasn't"
"Who does he think he is... it's nothing to do with him, he's not a working member of the RF"
"I bet Meghan got him to say something"

It is far too incendiary for a nephew to speak out about this. Especially when the RF just ignore it ever happened.

ferneytorro · 15/12/2022 12:43

The BBC coverage online where they are watching and commenting is hilariously brutal, it's like a spoof documentary commentary.
"We hear about how the couple are hands on parents and see their nanny with Archie in a baby sling on her back to Harry and Meghan's evident delight".

And then another one where they say they couldn't have anyone to look after their child/children and then cut to their nanny talking about how nice they were to work for" Ouch!

Roussette · 15/12/2022 12:43

Lovely to see Ashleigh has reconnected with them and was there for Christmas.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 15/12/2022 12:44

I don't think he'll diss Andrew. The only one he gets on with in the RF is Eugenie. He surely can't diss her dad.

I would assume Eugenie being in the series even brieflly was payment for Andrew not being mentioned.

I watched the lot and I haven't changed my mind from last week but I do think Meghan will have changed the Royal family as Diana did.
If the Royal household didn't do any on boarding they have a lot to answer for. Protocol is constantly changing and why do the RF even entertain talking to the press? Last week the programme was about the disgusting racism this person was subjected to. If you are not BAME you have no idea how horrible it can be. This week it is about security. What a world we live in to suggest a three year old child would be better off dead. I would haul all the social media trolls before the courts, we have the technology to track them, do we just not care enough to follow through? They deserve this? No one does.
Harry and Megan are now aligned with powerful, successful black people from sport and music. Those people have also suffered before they pulled their selves up. People only want these icons on their terms. (three young black footballers anyone?) What the general public miss is these friends have unlimited funds. They will step in to help a fellow black person who is being abused. Sisters helping sisters. Its in their culture.
None of the Royal consorts are aristocracy, they do not have their own money. Megan had a real career (I am not here to debate if she was Oscar worthy). Personally I find it a stretch to think the immediate RF are racist. Charles was 'friendly' with a certain singer, the Queen danced with black heads of state in the 50s but was advised not to. Wtf.
The overwhelming majority of poison commentary is generated by white female journalists. What a nasty world we live in.
There are no more stories to tell, let them live their truth. Nothing to see here.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 15/12/2022 12:46

The BBC commentary is quite funny and brutal 'The speech ends in a rhyme - we'll spare you the full verse'.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/12/2022 12:47

I really should stop reading this since I'm not watching it until later and it's spoiling the surprises, but had to howl at the "we appreciate everything you did for our country"

Not because of whether or not it was said - like the Mandela remark it's probably unverifiable and amyway we know Meghan lies - but the mindset which would choose to repeat it

SnottyLottie · 15/12/2022 12:47

@Sweetpeasaremadeforbees 😆

I’ve loved the snarky commentary

superdupernova · 15/12/2022 12:49

No. And so they shouldn't. If A's two brothers and sister have not said a word why should his nephew speak out.
It would only get criticism anyway*

They clearly want to destroy Charles and William out of spite. If any of it was about honesty or integrity they'd be criticising one of the most horrifying thing to come out of the palace in years. Instead they ignore Andrew and their relationship with him because they like his daughters. Such brave brave people Hmm

Nottodaty · 15/12/2022 12:50

Crikey least I can have a little barney with my sister and know she won’t go to the press.

All you had to do was leave quietly. Not sale yourself to the nearest bider.

Im one of many who really not a fan of the royals no one person should have to bow to another ever. I’d be happy to not have a royal family. I reckon air bb a lot of the fancy house we’d make the money back. But I get for some people they think a lot of them - that’s ok not my cup of tea but we all different.

I may at times get frustrated with my family but this just feels uneasy, I’m actually not sure what they want from it :/ money, attention? If it was to take down the family - that’s not a legacy they want? Really? The truth is out there but I’m not sure either side is necessarily going to say it.

Roussette · 15/12/2022 12:53

So you think he should hurt Eugenie.
Someone who they are friendly with, who stays with them, who Meghan kept in contact with during their concurrent pregnancies. OK.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 15/12/2022 12:55

So is that it then? No affairs, no Andrew, no tights? Come on Harry, what did Wills text you (or were you showing M that you'd passed another level on Candy crush?)

zzzexhaustedzzz · 15/12/2022 12:55

The BBC are behaving like tabloid journalists then?
I’m not surprised, the days when I relied on them for (what I believed to be) balanced and fair reporting are over.
H and M are a mess and so are the whole RF in my opinion, but I want balanced and fair reporting.

Mumsnut · 15/12/2022 12:55

Going back to the beginning:

"He explains: "A story came out saying part of the reason Meghan and I were leaving was because William had bullied us out.
"Once I got in the car after the meeting [at Sandringham with other royals], I was told about a joint statement that had been put out in my name and my brother's name, squashing the story about him bullying us out of the family.
"I couldn't believe it. No one had asked me. No one had asked me permission to put out a statement like that." "

I wonder ... who 'placed' the original story? Unlikely to be William, or his team, I would have thought. A mystery.

HairyToity · 15/12/2022 12:42

Well, yeah. Because "this is what I know about nonce shielding" is a real bombshell, not "in a really tense situation my brother lost his temper and shouted at me".

But he has reasons to choose not to mention that.

Similar to the fact that he praised Philip as a "legend of banter" in his memorial comment, disregarding the frequently racist nature of that banter.

So he does know that in different circumstances, you decide to publicly say or believe different things.

(Netflix have some helpful documentaries about Epstein, Maxwell and Andrew, of course.)

MaulPerton · 15/12/2022 12:58

Megan had a real career (I am not here to debate if she was Oscar worthy)

But, your last part is, in fact, very important - this is what this is all about. We are being held to ransom by someone's 'quirk' of personality, and, somehow, it has been allowed to happen...unless, it is all part of the entertainment.

MorningMeditation · 15/12/2022 12:59

ancientgran · 15/12/2022 11:36

Don't you think it would be healthier for Harry if he was encouraged to put it behind him now? He doesn't want to be part of the RF, he has clearly ended the possibility of a return if he's said the things that are being reported on here, so constantly living that can't be healthy.

I think people are entitled to leave toxic relationships, they will need a period to heal but it is important not to get stuck there.

You can move on with your life and still discuss your past. He seems to be living his life. So weird that people want this shut down and the RF protected. I think he should talk as much as he wants to. People can turn off if they don’t want to hear.

I’ve had awful abuse in my past from my parents and sibling. I’ve had therapy and I’ve dealt with it. I’m in a good place, living my life, have lovely friends and some family, but I still talk about my past when I want to. It’s my life to talk about just as it’s Harry’s. Good for him.

superdupernova · 15/12/2022 13:00

So you think he should hurt Eugenie.
Someone who they are friendly with, who stays with them, who Meghan kept in contact with during their concurrent pregnancies. OK.

I'd respect them a lot more if they actually spoke about the serious issues in the family. Instead we have him whinging because his brother shouted at him for behaving like a twat.

thecatsthecats · 15/12/2022 13:01

Oh and once upon a time I fired a CEO, who agreed to leave quietly with a glowing reference. He wrote it himself.

For years afterwards I'd take it out when I needed a laugh. It never got him a job, and we were happy to share it because it was a steaming pile of self congratulatory bullshit that any competent reader would smell at fifty paces.

My point being - it seems to me that the statement that was "protecting" William was probably effective in protecting them both. Because people can smell bullshit, but they tend to believe a "nothing to see here".

Rhondaa · 15/12/2022 13:02

'So is that it then? No affairs, no Andrew, no tights? Come on Harry, what did Wills text you (or were you showing M that you'd passed another level on Candy crush?'

6 hours of allegations! but not one fact or teensy bit of proof to back up their gripes.

It's funny I don't get why no one at Netlfix said 'oh yes that sounds absolutely horrid..but where's the receipts? Let's see the incriminating emails'. Why did that lawyer say she'd seen evidence but didn't produce any? Not a lawyer very good at her job it would seem.

We will have to disagree then. I think he did the very best thing - not speaking about what his Uncle did, especially when the Palace seem to ignore it ever happened. The story died when the Queen did.
If he raked it up now he would be slaughtered for doing that.
