Last thread has filled up so I thought I'd create another to chat trailers and teasers while we hang about waiting for better more truth bombs to drop in the main event.

No he didn’t say that in so many words, but logically, he must be implying that they are the best for the top job after the Queen. Otherwise, why would he bother saying this. Presumably he realised that his father could be King for 20 years or so. Did he expect this star quality that he and his wife had to be put on hold for that long? You must agree that a lot of what they say is vague and wide open to interpretation, Rousette, and that insisting constantly that people are definitely wrong in their implied understanding because the actual words don’t directly convey this meaning, is a futile exercise. I don’t know if he meant they wanted to be King and Queen, but it is certainly possible that is what he was implying.

I never said they did.

i just agreed with your post about it being silly to think they could be king and Queen.

as I said.

please don’t try to bully me.

Bully you?

I am not bullying you! I am now in agreement with you saying they never thought they could be King and Queen.

I apologise if you feel bullied, not my intention. As I've had a lot of that myself.

Horrible post.

Why?

I never got that, not in a million years. I understand you would though.

queenofarles · 15/12/2022 11:53

Really. I think it’s very bad for William.

no it isn’t,

they really thought that by leaving it would be an
Après nous, le déluge moment for the RF

H&M both come out not looking very good , specially Harry, "yes we live in a palace , but they put us in the worst bit, it’s really not very nice , they hate us". He didn’t say that Many members lived there too,

"we are doing a better job than all of them combined , they felt really jealous of us".
says the very short tempered man who shouts at reporters .

their every word is articulated to portray this image that they were treated sub par to other members , the housing unit comment in SA , the Nottingham comment , these are not exaggeration or playing it down they know what they are saying. No hint of the very privilege life they lived.

Please don’t put words in my mouth, or imply snidely that “I would get that”. I am just pointing out that it is perfectly possible to interpret what he says that way and that people have done so. I dont know what he means as I said. Nor does anyone else, which is half the problem But it is not the massive leap you seem to think it is for one interpretation to be that he wants them to be King and Queen. And note, I said one interpretation.

Bobbins36 · 15/12/2022 12:00

We’ve had the Oprah, the Netflix series and his book soon. All about the same subject. What next for Reality TV stars Harry& Meghan?

if I were the kids I’d be worried what life events will be whored out for a fee….

BenchedRabbit · 15/12/2022 12:01

The BBC have some interesting stats from an opinion poll conducted before and after the first part of the Netflix series. William’s popularity has increased, Harry’s reduced even further.
I think the crux of it is, not that what they are saying is necessarily untrue, but that’s it’s so bloody tone deaf to the public and what the general public is experiencing at the moment. I think that’s what makes a lot of people angry - this constant complaining at a time when people have many worse things to worry about.
And that’s before you get into whether any of it is actually true or not.

No, I agreed with your statement “that was silly” which was in response to a post saying “they thought they could be king and Queen”

because i agreed with you it was silly to think that they could ever be king and Queen. Your post did not say they never thought that they could be x, y or Z. Just that was silly.

If you meant to say “they never thought that x, y and Z, then, with respect, perhaps you should have written that.

you then accused me of making things up, which is a blatant lie.

please come the courtesy of reading my posts and not making incorrect assumptions

After settling into her seat, Meghan claims the head of the plane crew knelt down next to her and gave her some encouraging words.

She explained: 'He took his hat off and I just remember looking at him.

'And he goes, "we appreciate everything you did for our country."'

Discussing the emotional impact it had on her, Meghan continued: 'It was the first time that I felt like someone saw the sacrifice. Not for my own country, for this country. It's not mine.'

I think Meghan should be awarded the Victoria Cross for her service to our country. She really is the gift that keeps on giving.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/12/2022 12:06

I think Harry is a very damaged man more then anyone realise

But aren't we often told that they're living a truly happy life now?

I've said it so many times, but if that's happiness I'm the Queen of Sheba

I have apologised for misreading what you said. And already apologised if you felt bullied.

I will apologise again. Now.

I'm sorry. I got it wrong. It was fast moving and I misunderstood. I hope you can accept this

Ridiculous, their marriage is (hands down) one of the greatest liabilities the Royals (as well as the general public) have had to put up with in modern times. The give : take ratio is almost 100:0
Where do the stage directions end and the person begin with this one?

funnystuff123 · 15/12/2022 12:14

everything she did for our country? Blink and you'll miss it more like..:Confused

Aspiringmatriarch · 15/12/2022 12:15

I haven't seen it yet but my thoughts on what I've picked up so far...

I think it's a shame if they were really complaining about Nottingham Cottage, it looks like a lovely and characterful home and as others have pointed out, Kate and William lived there for a while. If they felt it was a slight on them, that was silly IMO and definitely the kind of thought you keep to yourself.

Re William and the shouting, I can believe that. Purely anecdotal but I believe he's always had a temper and could be very nasty if it came to it. OTOH arguments happen in families, emotions were running high and I'm sure Harry was angry as well. But I believe him when he says he was terrified, he was probably an anxious wreck anyway throughout that period and would have obviously felt very attacked. Putting that into context that it does sound as if KP were the source of many of the negative stories about H&M, I think Harry is deeply angry and hurt and burning his bridges with William now. It's very sad but honestly not that surprising. I'm not sure they've handled things terribly well, but if my brother was using the press to plant negative stories about my spouse, I wouldn't be particularly forgiving either. Caveat: obviously we don't know William's side of things. But it sounds like it was pretty ruthless and the relationship between the brothers is now dead and buried, sadly.

WRT their comments about jealousy over someone coming in and doing the job better, I think that's actually true but may have been better left unsaid as well. But this is them having their say and I think they felt justifiably that they were working hard and bringing a lot of good publicity to the Royals while being treated pretty shabbily by way of the press.

I'll comment more when I've actually watched it. 😊

Unifolorn · 15/12/2022 12:15

My heart broke when Harry spoke about his dad being in charge of the millions they have and gatekeeping it. When he said normal families wouldn't do that- our relatable Prince.

A bit like when she said the whole of South Africa came out and danced in the streets when she married H...except that was debunked by South Africans.

I've come to the conclusion that it's folie a deux, they seem to be in a bubble where everyone else is wrong, they perceive things in a different way to everyone else and they encourage each other in the stupidity. They need psychiatric help.
