Meghan - lucky life

Sounds a weird thing to say. But Meghan really has had the life of a lot of women's complete fantasies hasn't she ?

  • born in hot / glam country
  • parents win the lottery
  • received private education. Hobbies. Makes great connections ag school eg Katherine foster
  • financially supported into late 20s
  • enables her to have a fantasy actress career
  • can pay for cosmetic surgery eg nose, chin and hair treatments. Has amazing clothes
  • marries a prince
  • has 2 kids as an older mother without assistance
  • lives in a luxurious beautiful community

Never been unwell , never done a boring / basic job in her life, has no financial worries ever.

On paper it is so much better than my life !!

I've had to grind my way out of poor upbringing and get into higher pay brackets like most do!

Totally agree, I absolutely despise her. She is so desperate to paint herself as vulnerable and hard done to when she’s nothing of the sort and has never known any hardship.

BalloonSlayer · 05/12/2022 20:55
  • She worked in a frozen yogurt shop.
  • She has had horrifying death threats and racial abuse
  • I wouldn't think Harry would be all that easy for someone like her to be married to.
KnickerlessParsons · 05/12/2022 20:58

financially supported into late 20s

She was financially supported by the RF for a lot longer than that

slithytoveisascientist · 05/12/2022 21:01

It does read like a fairytale with lotto win, famous actress and becoming a duchess! Still wouldn't want to be her though. Or married to Harry, I don't reckon they are that happy.

DaftdoubleDaffodil · 05/12/2022 21:08

I wouldn’t trade lives though.

torquewench · 05/12/2022 21:09

Yeah my hearts absolutely bleeds for her, marrying by choice into unimaginable wealth and privilege. Most of the RF have probably had credible death threats, most of the women who married in have had a rough ride from the tabloids so idk why she thinks she's got it any worse.

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/12/2022 21:11

She’s also fairly bright and quite the babe.

Yes a fairly charmed life, but whether you like her a not (I think she’s a bit of a nob with some good intentions) she has worked it - she’s a grafter and no mistake.

Snugglepiggy · 05/12/2022 21:20

Sounds daft but I'm just reading about the awful outbreak of children's deaths from Strep A.Then thinking about the crap time some families are facing this winter with the cost of living crisis. All the separated, traumatised Ukrainian families. Etc.So much heartache and worry for so many. Then I think about the recent trailers with the self indulgent photos of MM weeping. She lost my respect with that interview in South Africa tbh and nothing that has happened since then has restored it

geraniumsandsunshine · 05/12/2022 21:22

@Snugglepiggy what's the interview- is it online?

Snugglepiggy · 05/12/2022 21:26

It's the one from their tour when she studied nobody asked if she was OK.With Tom Bradby. After they had visited the townships where women were living really tough lives with abuse and poverty.

But Kate was financially supported all her life. Despite the best opportunities. Why is it ok for one but not the other, if, indeed, Meghan was.

username8888 · 05/12/2022 21:30

I think the word is grifter not grafter.

username8888 · 05/12/2022 21:31

And she isn't part of the royal family now.

DingDangMerrily · 05/12/2022 21:32

@Yesthatismychildsigh Kate is moaning about how awful her life is though is she.

slithytoveisascientist · 05/12/2022 21:32

@Yesthatismychildsigh I guess because this is a thread about Meghan lucky life? You could always start one about Kate if you want to talk about her lucky life...

DingDangMerrily · 05/12/2022 21:32

Isn’t

JaneJeffer · 05/12/2022 21:34

She worked in a frozen yogurt shop.
😭

ReedRite · 05/12/2022 21:34

I agree Op.It’s really been a life of extraordinary opportunity and privilege. On the face of it, she seems totally oblivious of this.

She worked in a frozen yogurt shop. Ok, but it’s hardly Siberian salt mine territory. I expect many of us reading will have worked in a shop at some point.

Yourwan · 05/12/2022 21:35

I had no idea her family won the lotto. I knew that she grew up as a rich girl that went to private school but presumed her parents worked for it.

ReedRite · 05/12/2022 21:37

What’s with the whataboutery?

a) seeing flaws in Meghan’s conduct doesn’t automatically and necessarily make someone a fan of Kate. And b) I don’t think Kate’s been moaning her diamond shoes are too tight, has she?

AbsolutelyFuckingSick · 05/12/2022 21:40

She's utterly dreadful. We have people freezing their boots off because heating is too expensive. She swans off first to Oprah, followed by Netflix to complain about her oh so hard life of marrying into the family that she wanted Confused She has never been hard done by, her problem is the palace didn't bow to her

HandsomeDaughter · 05/12/2022 21:42

I just can't with some comments the tears emoji and Siberian mine comment I'm dying laughing at this 😂

Ch3wylemon · 05/12/2022 21:43

She is also stunningly beautiful.

But I'm not convinced she is happy and I think living with Harry is hard work. Her mental health probably isn't great* and I'm not so sure she had her children without fertility assistance. I really wouldn't want her life.

*it would be better if she stopped trying to monetise everything and quit the media circus mind.

DewinDwl · 05/12/2022 21:44

Some of these seem very intimate. Has it been confirmed that the children were conceived naturally? And how do we know she has never been unwell? I thought the MN consensus was that her family was a mess, is she lucky on that, too?

There are people in my life who are wealthier than me, have better social skills, wonderful skin, have never had MH problems or physical issues... there are also others who have it much worse than me. It hadn't occurred to me to compare myself to others and pass judgement on their character based on what little I know from their lives 🤔

DemBonesDemBones · 05/12/2022 21:46

Reading the comments on threads like these it's easy to see why talking about mental health is still such a taboo in this country.
