Sounds a weird thing to say. But Meghan really has had the life of a lot of women's complete fantasies hasn't she ?

  • born in hot / glam country
  • parents win the lottery
  • received private education. Hobbies. Makes great connections ag school eg Katherine foster
  • financially supported into late 20s
  • enables her to have a fantasy actress career
  • can pay for cosmetic surgery eg nose, chin and hair treatments. Has amazing clothes
  • marries a prince
  • has 2 kids as an older mother without assistance
  • lives in a luxurious beautiful community

Never been unwell , never done a boring / basic job in her life, has no financial worries ever.

On paper it is so much better than my life !!

I've had to grind my way out of poor upbringing and get into higher pay brackets like most do!

I don't know much about Meghan's life pre Harry but I think Kate has had an incredibly lucky life. Born into a very loving, close, well off family. Idyllic childhood by the sounds of it. Marries a prince. Three lovely children.

exhaustedManager · 05/12/2022 21:52

Yes @Luredbyapomegranate she is smart - went to a top 20 US uni. Clearly cleverer than average and charming

Yes and she is so attractive ! The first time I saw a photo of her I thought 'wow she is 9.5/10' type stunner I mean she's beautiful (only ridiculous criticism would be her waist shape). She's far far more attractive than average, stop and stare attractive (and photogenic)

Kate always to me was a more 7.5/8 of 10 type, the thinness is what makes her look regal I think, if she were a size 14 she's look pretty average. Nice eyes but the skin and hair would go if she didn't have money.

It does read like a fairytale with lotto win, famous actress and becoming a duchess! Still wouldn't want to be her though. Or married to Harry, I don't reckon they are that happy.

Oh dear god - don’t give them/Netflix ideas…

But Kate was financially supported all her life. Despite the best opportunities. Why is it ok for one but not the other, if, indeed, Meghan was.

But Kate is leading a very restrained life. They just came back from Boston trip and saw photos of her kids baking, which was taken by her. She is also working but not in a conventional way. To be honest, Meghan has a lot more luxury and freedom than Kate. So, OP has a point.

DingDangMerrily · 05/12/2022 22:08

We don’t know whether they are happy. All we know is that they are doing what they are doing to make money. Netflix wouldn’t pay as much for them to tell us all how happy they are.

I wouldnt say never lifted a finger. Her life seems more difficult than Meghan, royal duties, visits. While what Meghan has a lot more freedom.
Yes Kate is lucky with her family relationships and maybe having a stable upbringing made her more level headed. Meghan's parents didnt have good relationship it seems, I may be wrong, but that impact your future relationships.

DillDanding · 05/12/2022 22:15

I think she's a hustler and made most of her own luck.

Yes, she's incredibly beautiful - so that is very lucky.

I think she is also lucky to have been able to escape the awful royal family and the even more awful British media. They are living a pretty perfect life now, as far as I can see.

But we’re not talking about Kate are we? Stop trying to make it a competition 🙄

Tipsyturvychocolatemonster · 05/12/2022 22:18

I wouldn't think Harry would be all that easy for someone like her to be married to.

yes, the burden she selflessly Carries. 😂

America12 · 05/12/2022 22:18

How do you know the kids were natural ? How do you know she's never been ill ?
Her parents aren't together so her life is not all perfect.

carefulcalculator · 05/12/2022 22:19

PeppermintChoc · 05/12/2022 20:51

Totally agree, I absolutely despise her. She is so desperate to paint herself as vulnerable and hard done to when she’s nothing of the sort and has never known any hardship.

Absolutely despise her

People who post this level of vitriol towards someone they have never met surely need help. It is a really unpleasant comment to make.

I neither like MM or dislike MM, but I seriously worry about the number of people who are so full of hatred.

Youngatheart00 · 05/12/2022 22:19

I just wish she / they (her and Harry) would stop being so hypocritical.

By all means ‘resign’ from royal life, if that isn’t for you. But to keep courting publicity, over and over, and mud slinging and poor me-ing in the way they do, when there are countless people far, far, far worse off than them in every sense is totally tone deaf.

Just go and live your life of privacy and stop releasing Netflix, podcasts, sob stories, other fame w*ore content and be done with it.

Totally agree with this 👌

Lou197 · 05/12/2022 22:29

Both King Charles and Princess Anne have had actual assassination attempts. And I am really worried about William's and Kate's mental health following Harry and Megs latest 'truth' documentary against the royal family. Why can't they just enjoy their life without all this hate against their family.

Junegirl15 · 05/12/2022 22:30

This just made my evening 😂

LolaSmiles · 05/12/2022 22:31

Agree with this
I'm no royalist, thought Meghan and Harry might be a breath of fresh air and never gave them too much thought until it became an endless run of headlines, interviews, half truths, lies, and hypocritical moaning.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if there was institutional racism in the royal family and for all I think Meghan claims any criticism, however valid, is racist, it's obvious some parts of the British media were racist in their coverage.

What I don't understand is for two people who are apparently happy, in love, have vast amounts of wealth, and have stepped away from the royal family due to privacy and family feuds, why they don't get on with their lives as private citizens, raise their children and be happy that they've got out of a situation that they found damaging. They seem desperate to stay in the media and trade on being royal, which rubs a lot of people up the wrong way.

JaneJeffer · 05/12/2022 21:34

She worked in a frozen yogurt shop.
😭

😂

MechanicaHound · 05/12/2022 22:38

You're right OP. She's been very lucky. And yet she is so miserable!

TaraRhu · 05/12/2022 22:38

I'm not her biggest fan but she has worked hard. She didn't 'have' to go to a good university. She chose to and got the grades to get in. She's slogged away as an actress for years before suits. She wrote her blog. She became a un ambassador She worked and has a work ethic. I also don't think you should forget the racism she will have faced - especially in the US.

She was 37 when she conceived her first. She was hardly ancient. I don't know why everyone on here thinks that you need ivf the minute you turn 35. She's worked a lot more than Kate Middleton ever did and didn't enjoy the stable family she did. So, yes, she had a reasonable start but I doubt it was all plain sailing.

WeWereInParis · 05/12/2022 22:41

And never lifted a finger or had a real job in her lifetime and she's now pushing 50, that's real luck and privilege.

Pushing 50?? She's 40!

Unless you meant Meghan. In which case - pushing 50?? She's 41!

onlylarkin · 05/12/2022 22:42

Yourwan · 05/12/2022 21:35

I had no idea her family won the lotto. I knew that she grew up as a rich girl that went to private school but presumed her parents worked for it.

Her dad won $750,000 in the CA lottery. Paid for her private catholic school, a car and a business (a flower business I believe) for his older kids and then went bankrupt a few year later.

There is something to do with a friend who got him to invest in a business which went belly up.

In total, TM has filed bankruptcy 3 times it is reported.

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 05/12/2022 22:44

"Pushing 50" 😂😂😂 I'm offended on Kate's behalf here!
