The long awaited documentray is hitting the screen on December 8th:

What with the award in a few days and the book in January they're ramping up the game.

The article is just repeating rumours from other publications.

As far as I know, Netflix has not announced any release date, nor have they even confirmed the existence of this 'documentary'. It's rather odd, as Netflix normally announce new programming weeks or even months in advance. But no official word, with only a week to go?

Readinginthesun · 29/11/2022 13:48

Meghan has been trying to distance herself from it so I reckon it must be bad .

Tontostitis · 29/11/2022 15:59

I really hope Netflix go full Tiger King on them, expose all the Sunshine Sachs shenanigans, all the buying of Awards, the differing stories, the staged pap shots. The Delaware based foundation they quite legally pocket 95% of donations from. Speeches to empty rooms etc etc the self delusion of believing she's as big as Mandela, all the ill fitting clothes freebies etc etc then they might stop the venomous nastiness and quietly disappear.

Oh, that's annoying.

I thought I had a scoop 😁

Strange though. Lots of publications have it and one has even put forward the theory that NF are tying it in with giving the Crown's audience time to have finished the series and therefore panting to watch more royal guff.

I can abandon my five-a-day for the duration of the airing - I'll be getting enough word salad to last well into next year!

I'll probably be upgrading to the Grecian ten - a day 😆

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 29/11/2022 17:34

So what's the series about?

RosettaStormer · 29/11/2022 17:55

They’ll all be watching it at Sandringham!

milti · 29/11/2022 22:14

It’s a histowickle docwumentawy about hawwy and megsy baby

Coronateachingagain · 30/11/2022 00:05

@milti histowckle 😅

Roussette · 30/11/2022 04:28

Well.....'Hawwy and Meggsy Baby' as you so quaintly put it...certainly did the right thing escaping didn't they?
Given the now confirmed threats they were facing over here (see below).
Good on them for making a self supporting life for themselves happily elsewhere.

I hope the Netflix series is a huge success

MI5 and the ex Head of Counter Terrorism confirming so, watch the footage from a BBC interview with him just released

Disgusting posts upthread.

I'm not surprised they escaped Britain out of that golden cage.

Goodness me.

Is this what passes for humour for you anti-Meghan threads?

@Roussette I was shocked by the revelations from the former head of counter terrorism. He stated clearly that the threats were taken seriously, so you have to wonder why the decision was made to pull their security.

And you have to wonder even more why Harry was not allowed to pay for his own security, as he wished.

@Iflyaway Disgusting comments indeed. What is odder still is that the posters above will be "hate watching" this series, whenever it airs, just so they can come to Mumsnet to make puerile comments and "in jokes" like the one I have quoted.

I loved the sign-off the Duchess of Sussex gave on the last podcas, from the Greek poet Dinos Christianopoulos: "What didn't you do to bury me? But you forgot that I was a seed."

I dedicate that quote to all the Meghan bashers on Mumsnet. Nothing you throw her way will bury her. Even her father-in-law apparently called her Tungsten, for her resilience.

So your jokes about "Hawwy and Megsy Baby" may excite you as you delight in how clever and original you are. Bury her they will not. Like that seed, she grows. And, to quote Maya Angelou, as she already did:

"You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise."

As the kids say, "Stay pressed!"😅

Iflyaway · 30/11/2022 05:00

Love it @MrsMaxDeWinter

Roussette · 30/11/2022 05:13

@MrsMaxDeWinter

Oh so right. All the silly Harkles , Hawwy MeAgain jokes are wearing a bit thin because they are so puerile and juvenile and it's just giving oxygen and exposure to the two people the haters insist should shut up and go away. Laughable!

Wonderful quotes thank you 😊

What didn't you do to bury me? But you forgot that I was a seed." 🤢🤮🤮. I don't usually harbour negative or positive thoughts about MM. Is the word salad embarrassing quotes a clash of cultures? Most things she says I find a bit cringey or twee.

She's American and some people are just different in the way they express themselves. It doesn't make it wrong. Just different

I love the fact my DC has married someone from a different culture, I wouldn't dream of criticising the way his family express themselves, so different and we embrace and love it !

Vive la difference

Mummyoflittledragon · 30/11/2022 05:46

There were several assassination attempts made against the Queen. I can well understand why she would perhaps not have taken social media threats as seriously as H&M. Her life was threatened in a very physical way and older adults don’t tend to interact with the online world in the same way as younger people. She may not have seen these as an existential threat. www.biography.com/news/queen-elizabeth-ii-assassination-attempts

I think it is possible to both be shocked by the enormity of the threats posed to H&M and have a great deal of empathy for them whilst still being appalled by some of their behaviour. Nuance is considerably lacking here.

Roussette · 30/11/2022 05:53

So we have to be shocked by hate and death threats but only if we criticise them at the same time?

Serenster · 30/11/2022 06:01

@Roussette I was shocked by the revelations from the former head of counter terrorism. He stated clearly that the threats were taken seriously, so you have to wonder why the decision was made to pull their security.

Their security was not “pulled”. They had security, but they removed themselves from it by voluntarily deciding to go and live on the other side of the world as private citizens.

And that level of threat is what all the senior royals in the UK face, by the way - it’s why they have security.

Serenster · 30/11/2022 06:05

Meghan’s quote is certainly revealing - she clearly thinks so very highly of herself. Still, I expect nothing less of someone happy to tell the world that her life events are comparable to those of Nelson Mandela.

For those who like quotes, I have one for you too: there are none so blind as those who cannot see.

Roussette · 30/11/2022 06:08

And that level of threat is what all the senior royals in the UK face, by the way - it’s why they have security.

It appears not the same continual and very real level of threat that the ex-head of Counter Terrorism outlined in his BBC interview.

Roussette · 30/11/2022 06:12

Good for her. She needs self belief to rise above the hate
