Well, a smart move to move to a place where you are so irrelevant in celebrity terms that you will have people looking over your shoulders to capture the attention of real celebrities as you try to engage 🙄

They never “ brought it” or bought it . The police decided on those occasions to provide security .

Every single person of colour and of other religions have regularly had threats at that level. Stop kidding yourself. Intelligent people get it much worse than these human memebots ever would. I have witnessed it personally. We all need protection but enhanced royal protection it isn't.

As far as I am aware even our MPs and their families don't have close security protection 24/7. I would imagine they are far more of a target than M&H.

I've helped to organise events where the police have demanded there be policing, and said that the event would have to pay for it.

I think football clubs similarly contribute toward policing costs.

Much of the risk assessment for these types of thing are actually undertaken by Local Authorities who have the statutory duties re licensing, crowd safety and traffic.

This is a thing that bugs me, because I'm connected to a racially targeted community (Jewish) who often privately fund protection, and through my employment, I work with of lots of people who need more protection from stalking, harassment, threats of violence etc.

Do I think M+H should receive protection? Yes. Do I think they deserve proportionally more out of the budget than any of the thousands of people needing protection? No.

Predictably, it's jumping back onto the old bandwagon in a well-timed move to fuel the headlines about a rift and draw attention back to themselves. It must be so frustrating for K&W. I think that their business model is shifting towards becoming slapstick, pantomime villains and behaving in a way which deliberately draws criticism and generates ridicule in order to generate the dosh. It may have evolved unintentionally at first but people are more likely to buy into it than the faux niceness which she really messed up on. Once again, it is usually H putting his own reputation on the line while M lurks in the shadows as director.

Point of detail - their security has not been "pulled"

The current position is that they will received security based on the threat assessment at the time of each visit.

Harry is disputing that position, because he wants there to be full scale security for every visit, irrespective of the current threat assessment.

They have visited under the current arrangements, and may well continue to do so.

Official personal security teams are not available for hire. It's not the same as organisations defraying part of the costs of crowd control type policing (which is provided in line with needs assessment, not because an organisation wants it)

Have her own achievements outside of marriage matched what she claims ? No she was a supporting actress in a TV show which is impressive for the average Joe. She's now a worldwide celebrity because of who she married not because of her own achievements, really not a good example of feminism. She has never once acknowledged she's where she is because of the institution she married into (then makes money out of complaining about it.)

I think the documentary may be presented like the Bros one from a few years ago, on the surface it’s played straight but enough of the pretentious twaddle
left in to make them look silly. I don’t think it will be a hatchet job of the royals or H & M.

I was somewhat open-mouthed reading this report. I think a Netflix documentary following some of these 'Companions' around would be very illuminating.

what happened at the event was truly shocking and it was right that Lady Susan resigned .
Before M and H married Lady Susan was assigned to try to help Meghan . It was reported in ( I think ) Revenge that M said she wouldn’t change for the RF . It was also reported that lady Susan told some people that the marriage would end in tears .

It's not clear if Lady Hussey was specifically assigned, or if all the late Queen's Ladies in Waiting were asked to assist.

Lady Hussey is the only one who is reported to have spoken about it (July this year, source Tom Bower, at time of publicity about his book "courtiers")
