Harry and Meghan - lies?

Ok I’m keeping my fingers crossed this thread will not descend into an unsubstantiated bun fight! Please bear with me.

I’m definitely no Royalist, and am pretty ambivalent about H and M but from the little I’ve read they seem to have been treated pretty badly. However I keep seeing on other threads here that their claims have all be proven to be lies, which would make me much less sympathetic to them. But I can’t find any verification for this.

So I’m asking more knowledgeable posters - what lies specifically have H&M told and where’s the evidence to the contrary please?

She is bullied continually.

In all fairness, Meghan only ever got the role in Suits, she was never a Hollywood actress, despite all the hyperbole.

Acting work post 40 would have been extremely challenging for her.

She was acting in Canada not Hollywood so wouldn’t have had the network for new roles, though she did try.

a lot of amazing film actresses move to TV in their 40’s so she would have been competing with those too

Meghan has had a lot of people who she was formerly close to, but who she ghosted completely or dropped as she became more and more famous, speak up to say so, though, you are right. It might give her cause to reflect on the way she has treated people on her way up, and why that treatment hasn’t engendered loyalty. I can’t imagine she’s bothered, though!

I have only ever heard Roussette repeat this story. I have never come across it elsewhere. Is it even true? She seems far too uptight and prim.

Well, to be fair it could be several things. She might have terrible judgment when making friends too. 😀

But seriously, if your childhood best friend, several members of your family and extended family (including the uncle that secured you an internship that she still talks about), your former in-laws, one of your former managers and several of your former staff are all prepared to come forward to share their negative stories of you, there is a fairly high possibility that the common denominator is your own behaviour, rather than you just having truly awful luck in the people you thought you were close to…

Also those photos of Kate on the catwalk at the university fashion show, wearing very little and cosying up to another guy she was modelling with were of course also sold to the press, Roussette, and pop up all the time if William and Kate’s relationship is discussed.

Unfortunately for your thesis though there was no outcry at all when those were published. Salacious pictures of William’s girlfriend, then fiancée, then wife, were all (and clearly remain) perfectly fair game as far as everyone was concerned.

(I’ve also seen pictures of her at Fresher’s week and from various university parties, all of which came from someone she knew’s private photo album).

What’s wrong with those photos? No one is ‘copping a feel’. Perfectly normal.

In all fairness though, Kate’s past has already been pulled up and raked over by the press in the 20 years she and William have been together. There are plenty of similar photos out there of her in her first year at university, dressed up for Halloween, partying, on the infamous catwalk in a see-through lace dress (I’d be willing to bet that ends up in Season 6 of the Crown, even…). And there has never been the slightest outcry about it.

It’s one of the unfortunate effects of being famous (not even being a Royal girlfriend, just becoming famous). Self evidentially there has never been an outcry about “before they were famous” pics - they are lapped up by people it always seems. So your opinion here is demonstrably not the case when we can look at what actually happened - there’s no need for a hypothetical here. This is just not an instance where Meghan is treated worse than anyone else, despite your strong opinions on the matter.
