Who will be watching it?

@upinaballoon , yes my thoughts exactly, however I will say of the first season, I think Claire foy did portray the queen with respect.
I may also be misremembering, but I'm sure it was said that the queen and prince Philip did watch the first season and quite enjoyed it, but as I say I can't remember when I heard this or if it's true!
Afterwards we'll not so much!

There's quite a few questions you haven't answered, including whether you think it's ethical to invent stories about living individuals for the sake of entertainment. Obviously you're not obliged to answer my or anyone else's questions, but when you choose to start a thread and make several very specific claims for which you cannot provide evidence, refusing to answer pertinent questions doesn't say much for the quality of your arguments.

Mind you, I'd be embarrassed to admit I used the wretched 'Kaiser' as a source too.

@jeffgoldblum I have never heard of Kaiser either.
For others I read it on celebich, but I wanted to watch the interview myself to see if it was true. I can't find it anywhere online in full, only snatches of it. It was long with lots of information.

And fictionalised accounts of real events might make for interesting telly, but don't reflect truth (private conversations, attitudes, whether rumoured events actually happened)

So I think discussion of a fictionalised version is better done in the telly topic

And posters did point it out in the beginning but were told to button it!
Most are now pointing out its fictional but some posters don't believe this sadly!

It used to be an OK celebrity gossip site, if you're into that sort of thing. But in recent years it's become bizarre. Harry and Meghan are practically sanctified, and the rest of the royals demonised, with no deviation from Group Think permitted. I find it psychologically fascinating to observe that sort of fanatic fandom in action, but I always feel slightly soiled on the increasingly rare occasions I venture into that den.

It's not bitchy in the Joan Rivers way, where pretty much everyone was fair game. And where the bitchiness was actually clever and funny.

It's a weird site where Harry and Meghan are saintly victims of the evil royals who 'hounded them out'. Kate is referred to as 'KKKhate' or 'OfWillliam'.

It's that kind of place. Venture there at your own risk!

Going by previous posts from antelopevalley its very obvious he or she has absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in posting the most atrocious of nonsense they’ve come across on the very suspect websites they frequent so desperate they are to discredit the RF.

I see @IcedPurple , thanks I give it a miss then sounds ghastly! , I wouldn't say I'm pro m&h but I don't hate them ( or anyone else!) but certainly cannot stand cultish fawning, I also wouldn't say I love Kate or William either however, needless criticism puts my back up, these people are just human after all , no one should be above criticism.

I read a number of gossip celebrity sites. They all have their strange fans. Pretty much like MN.
I am anti the Royal Family. I am not pro Meghan and Harry. Buy I am pleased we are no longer paying for them. I was against the half in and half out.
I would like them all to stop getting taxpayers money.

If The Crown is going to cover Charles and Camilla’s affair I wonder if they will cover Diana’s numerous liaisons ?

I am sure they will refer to it.
But the current King and Queen Consort getting together through an affair is obviously bigger news than King's ex dead wife having affairs. A lot of younger adults do not even know who Diana is.

You'd have to have lived in a cave not to know who Diana was, of course younger adults knew who she was.

The crown needs to show balance, but we all know they won't. Diana was the victim, the rf the villains seems to be their theme.

The last series did show Diana having other relationships, but these occurred after it became clear that Charles was (and always had been) committed to Camilla. So the blame in that series was clearly put on him, in that sense. Although they also covered how ill matched they were in terms of interests etc.

It's tricky to portray because irl they were ill matched - huge age gap, didn't really know each other properly. Maybe they each had different expectations of what marriage meant, idk. But she was very young and it was clear from the engagement press conference that there were potential issues.
