Heart in mouth stuff. I always held my babies firmly under the bum.

I would never stop a mum in the street unless a baby was going to come to harm. No one reasonable would.
As I said if this was my teenager holding a baby I would teach them how to hold the baby so he is more comfortable.

How did the PoW not drop the baby?
fairysong · 07/10/2022 12:36

Didn't some of the babies have wires etc attached to them/various pumps etc so that may explain why this (perfectly fine!!!) hold was used. Think this is such a weird thread when there is clearly nothing wrong with how she is holding him!

fairysong · 07/10/2022 12:38

Babies also wriggle and this is a still photo. She could have be moving him to a different position or about to give him back!

Serenster · 07/10/2022 12:52

Posters: It’s outrageous how haters frothed at [a royal I like] for perfectly innocuous things like holding her baby!!

Same posters: Look at this dangerous and negligent way [a royal I don’t like] is holding this baby!!

Same posters: No, I’m not a hater and certainly not frothing. Just highlighting double standards! But I’m absolutely still criticising how this royal holds this baby…

🤔

antelopevalley · 07/10/2022 12:52

@fairysong I agree which is why I watched the video on the Daily Mail site. She hols him like this for a bit.

antelopevalley · 07/10/2022 12:54

@Serenster I don't hate Kate at all. I actually feel a bit sorry for her.
I have said multiple times that the baby will not be harmed. I do not agree wit the OP that the baby is at risk of being dropped. So you are totally wrong, I am not saying Kate is negligent. I am saying it is a strange uncomfortable position, but it is not really a big deal.

antelopevalley · 07/10/2022 12:56

And I have said before quite a few times that I hope Kate is happy and it is all worth it.
I would not want to be in her exact position, although I can't say why on MN without being deleted.

smilesy · 07/10/2022 13:04

You are an adult. You wouod
probably find that position uncomfortable. The baby does not seem to be uncomfortable. If it’s really not a big deal, why highlight it?

antelopevalley · 07/10/2022 13:07

The baby looks uncomfortable.
I did not post the thread

For someone that that doth not careth, thou hast a lot to say.

And maketh on you have the a lot of insider knowledge on all things regal when thou should have been concentrating on holding those who are little so that they presumably aren’t uncomfy.

If you really are always cutting or burning your fingers and you are not doing jobs like welding, then check it out with your GP. You shouldn't be frequently cutting or burning yourself just from ordinary cooking,
Give your GP a good laugh

I'm only here for updates on the story about the soldier PoW and the baby. Has he found a woman in the local town who can supply them with food? Has the baby stopped its piercing crying?

@RoachTheHorse @RandomPenguinHouse
@oakleaffy

don't leave us in suspense!

Also thought thread was about a prisoner of war - stayed for the story - please continue it!

And just for the record, there wasn’t anything wrong with how Meghan held her baby on that day at the polo, either. 🙄🙄

agree.

Nandos?

Canny someone expert will be along to tell you that they don’t eat anything other than organic carrots and Evian washed micro herbs.

Ohnonevermind · 07/10/2022 14:00

I’ve three children and held them like this, mine never wanted to be put down (they’re old enough that I nearly miss that) and sometimes you needed hand you could free

Babys that age just want to look at faces or boobs 🤣

antelopevalley · 07/10/2022 14:13

@Ohnonevermind It is a two hand hold.

How did the PoW not drop the baby?
Ohnonevermind · 07/10/2022 14:15

Yes, but you can put on the kettle and open the door while doing it

I’m not a former nursery nurse like you say you are, but, um, if a baby was uncomfortable it WOULD CRY. You know, that thing babies do to signify their needs or comfort preferences aren’t being met.

Obviously this photo is just a snapshot. But as you said above you watched the Daily Mail video for a longer look, (despite saying you don’t care Hmm), you can presumably confirm whether the baby was crying or not in that. As you haven’t mentioned that he was crying, I’m presuming he did not. Which suggests he wasn’t really uncomfortable.
