Heart in mouth stuff. I always held my babies firmly under the bum.

I thought this was about a prisoner of war.

Same! And somehow that would have been less bizarre than this thread.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 06/10/2022 16:16

That's how I hold them in church for communion so the priest can bless them. Never dropped one yet.

Teadrinkingmumofone · 06/10/2022 16:19

"heart in mouth stuff"? Good lord, get a grip.

Can't understand why people appear to be taking personal offence to this. It does look strange from that angle, OP.

NiqueNique · 06/10/2022 16:21

It’s not offensive, personal or otherwise. It’s just batshittery.

Sometimes a grip should be got. This is one of those times.

MrsTimRiggins · 06/10/2022 16:21

How dull is your life that this is heart in mouth stuff?! She’s fine, that baby wasn’t going anywhere.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 06/10/2022 16:23

“Heart in mouth stuff”

good grief! She’s clearly just had practice at holding a baby 😂

Chill out. You've posted 5 times on this thread, even attempting to bring Meghan into it. Perhaps you should be searching for a similar grip?

NiqueNique · 06/10/2022 16:33

I am perfectly chilled out. I appreciate that tone is difficult to read online but just rest assured none of this is raising my blood pressure at all. Smile

I mentioned Meghan because that was a huge deal to some people at the time and was also completely ridiculous. And as a clear signal that I’m not in any way affiliated with either one of the ‘camps’ and my first comment shouldn’t be taken as anything other than disinterested and objective (this is the Royal Family topic after all. Originally I had assumed it was chat or AIBU, so I wanted to clarify).

derxa · 06/10/2022 16:34

Of all the things to have a go at the DoC for. She loves babies and knows how to hold them.

Would have been more interesting if it was.

Itawapuddytat · 06/10/2022 16:41

I first thought it was about the Prince of Wales - Charles. And I was wondering why he'd been holding babies now. Then I've seen the piccies with Catherine and I've remembered that he's the King now Grin

Kanaloa · 06/10/2022 16:42

I saw this in active so didn’t know it was royal family and presumed it was about a prisoner of war. Shame as I was really interested and expecting a story of some brave POW smuggling a baby out of North Korea or something and excited to hear how they crossed a frozen lake with captors on their heels, with the children they were smuggling out and a baby strapped to their back as well.

Anyway, she probably was holding him tightly and it’s just an odd camera angle. Most adults can manage holding a baby, especially if they have literally nothing else to do and an army helping them to manage it. So I wouldn’t overly panic.

RandomPenguinHouse · 06/10/2022 16:48

Yep also saw it in active, and as said above, also thought it was a prisoner of war.

I'm disappointed.

The angle does look odd but Kate is clearly supporting his head firmly so he can't fall. She's holding the baby fine.

I wouldn't have clicked on it otherwise. It's not possible to see which board a thread has been posted under on the list of trending topics.

diddl · 06/10/2022 16:52

I think these pictures tell you everything you need to know about her involvement in her own children's upbringing

🙄

Lindy2 · 06/10/2022 16:53

I'm pretty sure she knows what she's doing.

The fact that no babies fell on the floor seems to indicate she had an OK grasp on the situation.

RandomPenguinHouse · 06/10/2022 16:54

'The Prisoner of War and The Fallen Baby' would make a good title for something though.

upinaballoon · 06/10/2022 16:55

I got the right generation but when I read PoW I thought it meant William, and I wondered if he'd been throwing babies up in the air on some visit today, a bit like Mr. George Knightley and Mr. John Knightley geeing all the children up just before bedtime.

CatsandFish · 06/10/2022 16:56

PoW usually means Prince of Wales. I thought you were talking about William.

'The Prisoner of War and The Fallen Baby' would make a good title for something though.

It's an Oscar winner. A prisoner escapes from the camp he lives in and breaks into a country house. He finds clothes and food and the opportunity to restart his life. As he leaves the farm through the first he leaves a baby abandoned in a basket in the woods. Unable to leave a child to die he takes her, Ties her in a sling, and starts walking. His life will never be the same...

JaneJeffer · 06/10/2022 17:00

Write it @RoachTheHorse

JaneJeffer · 06/10/2022 17:02

@upinaballoon well done on the Austen reference (I miss the Sanditon thread) Grin
