Heart in mouth stuff. I always held my babies firmly under the bum.

I was amazed at how well she dealt with a heckler in Belfast today. The lady is entitled to her views and to work for change, but it was a bit off to have a go at Kate when the lady proffered her hand and was shoving a camera phone in Kate's face.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 06/10/2022 18:20

Kate married into the family too, so it's not even like she had a formative say in the politics / history of the issue either.

littlefireseverywhere · 06/10/2022 18:20

FFS she’s a mother of 3 young kids, of course she can hold a child.

VegetablesAreMyFriends · 06/10/2022 18:21

I too thought a Prisoner of war. I also was imagining Rachel holding Ben for the first time kind of like a football.
Kate, on the other hand, looks comfortable.

Crinkle77 · 06/10/2022 18:23

You're being ridiculous OP

StressedToTheMaxxx · 06/10/2022 18:25

Good grief, have a word with yourself OP. This is the hold of an experienced mother. For the first couple of months of holding my baby, it was 2 hands at all times, scared I'd drop her. Now that she's 6 months old and I'm much more experienced, I carry her one handed, like this, all the time. Are you saying that you're not capable of holding your baby/babies like this? How on earth do/did you ever get anything done?

NiqueNique · 06/10/2022 15:57

And just for the record, there wasn’t anything wrong with how Meghan held her baby on that day at the polo, either. 🙄🙄

That looked quite awkward, but she was a pretty new mum back then and they do wriggle! (And that's good praise for me because I'm usually slating MeGain!)

PoundShopPrincess · 06/10/2022 18:32

Do we reckon that when they were promoted to PoW their list of benefits included a daily nonsense thread on MN? Grin Yesterday, plasters. Today, holding babies.
I'll take odds on tomorrow's subject. I'll have 5-1 on shoes.

girlmom21 · 06/10/2022 18:34

I also thought this thread was about a prisoner of war and I'm disappointed that it's just about a women holding a baby.

CosyDarkNights · 06/10/2022 17:26

🤣🤣 christ a plaster on her thumb yesterday, today it's "she's holding a baby all wrong" I await tomorrow's thrilling thread about this woman.

Saying that, she’s always had plasters on her fingers for years.
Does she bite her nails or something?

PoundShopPrincess · 06/10/2022 18:40

Grin good one! I'm not sure you're allowed to pretend to rehash yesterday's topic on here. Check the schedule see what's coming up tomorrow instead.

hesbeingabitofadick · 06/10/2022 18:41

I have no kids. Barren. never even changed a nappy

I've nearly dropped one. A 9mo chucked at me by his mum - I wasn't expecting it - I became Johnny bloody Wilkinson in about 2 seconds. Grin
mum admitted she'd dropped him a couple of times tho, he was a wriggler, apparently

I don't see the problem myself. Kate seems to have a very good grip of him. 🤷‍♀️

Heart in mouth stuff

😂 Even mumsnet's resident Kate obsessive wouldn't type something this silly.

Samcro · 06/10/2022 19:00

Really liked what Kate was wearing today

NoddyMcdoddy · 06/10/2022 19:02

I nearly dropped my friends new born baby. Still get PTSD at thought of it.

I had a toddler of my own, 4 younger siblings and spent the vast majority of my teens babysitting young babies but somehow managed to forget how the weight of their head is disproportionately heavier than the rest of their body.

I picked him up and he threw his head backwards and tumbled over my arm, I managed to catch him just before he landed on a tiled floor. Shudder.

I also dropped new born DD from a height out of her car seat as the straps were not secure so I’ll not pass judgment on Kate’s baby holding which looks perfectly fine to me.

pinkstripeycat · 06/10/2022 19:03

She’s got him. How is she going to drop him holding him like this?

Nasty bastardin frothy thread.

Take the shame OP.

And heart in mouth stuff?

Nah. A great big walloping foot.

GucciPearls · 06/10/2022 19:09

Fuck me. What a pointless fucking thread. Grow up, get a grip and a bastard hobby whilst you’re there!

Same! I wondered first who was the prisoner of war, and also why they were holding / dropping a baby🤔

wordler · 06/10/2022 19:11

The video is cute - William is rolling his eyes at everyone trying to tempt Kate with babies.

Most mothers know how to hold a baby. I think these pictures tell you everything you need to know about her involvement in her own children's upbringing

Yes because she never held any of her own children when they were babies... 🙄

LadyKenya · 06/10/2022 19:13

pinkyredrose · 06/10/2022 17:55

Her and her husband famously do everything for thier kids, they didn't even have a nanny when they first became parents.

How do you know this, did she tell you when you joined her for high tea?

Whiskeypowers · 06/10/2022 19:16

Nothing better to do OP?

iekanda · 06/10/2022 19:16

She did have 2 hands on him, she's had 3 babies, i'm sure she's got a good hold of him
