I would honestly laugh. This forum is one of the most toxic places on the internet. This RF one in particular. As someone who likes Meghan I always get attacked. I wouldn't take it personally in RL I would actually laugh - because you have to be Barking if you can just casually use such language. I've had thoughts about just lurking again.

I was eating my tea but still should have been calling out a deleted post I didn't see and from that, it means I am 'slyly supporting' that post.

I tell you now, if anyone was called that on here no matter how much they or their views pissed me off, I would have called it out heavily, because it's disgusting, dehumanising and totally uncalled for, but not one of you did. The proof is there for all to see. Please do avoid me. I'd really love to be able to post on here without having what I say twisted, or the tenses changed to give it new meaning, or have it implied I am a long term nefarious, racist name changer.

I never say anything on MN I wouldn’t say in RL. I know it’s possible to be identified by someone in RL as my friend and I spotted a school mum who started a cringeworthy thread about a personal issue. She never admitted it but the thread did get taken down after we contacted her!

Sorry, I don't remember seeing it (but maybe I did.) It's all moving too fast and frankly kind of triggering. I definitely did not see you post anything I thought was rude or against guidelines. You seem balanced!

It was me that brought it up in relation to some posters complaining about I’ll treatment at the hand of othered earlier on. I just wanted to point out that this incident had happened and although it should have been condemned by other posters, it wasn’t and in fact as @LondonWolf said, some seemed to almost think she deserved it. So many of us reported it that MNHQ sent out a geneticist email, as I said. @Samcro, I’m afraid it did actually happen but it was not on this thread. No one was accusing you, I’m not sure why you thought that. But other posters definitely saw it- their posts immediately afterward and their interactions with the offending poster made that clear - but they did not say it was out of order. Which it absolutely was. When I brought it up on this thread, it was relevant to the discussion. Probably best to leave it there now though. I’m sure every agrees that there is no excuse for addressing language of that nature to another poster.

To be fair, Smiley was only responding to the accusation from another poster who claimed no poster with an opinion different her own ever complained when a poster majorly crossed a line with their insults. This was a very recent and excellent example of the reverse being true.

I think it would improve the conversations immensely if all posters stuck to point of the OP or at least things that happened in this decade. But I don't see that happening.
