I've been wondering about this all week.

What do people think? Would William want that ? Would Kate?

Really !!!

I also invite other posters to supply evidence of any post made by me!

This seems to have become the modus operandus of some posters.

Despite having never uttered a negative or nasty word about Meghan or Harry on here one particular poster has inferred twice in recent days that I have made many posts against them, am anti Meghan and Harry etc.
Strangely they haven't been able to produce any of those posts.

How can any rational conversation happen when posters do this?

jeffgoldblum · 22/09/2022 13:19

They can't @Arbesque , I suppose this is the point!

HannaHanna · 22/09/2022 13:19

jeffgoldblum · 22/09/2022 13:17

Yes @unname , I'm aware , unfortunately I'm not sure they realise how awful some posts come across to lurkers like I'm ushaly, it puts many people of joining in the discussion!

I think the point it to stop the discussion.

smilesy · 22/09/2022 13:20

I thought it was particularly sad when a poster was called the c word for criticising the Sussexes and quite a few of those who tend to post heavily in favour of them did not condemn this post outright. No one should ever be called that on a public forum by a random person on the internet, whatever your views for or against a subject.

HannaHanna · 22/09/2022 13:21

Sorry, name change fail unname=hannahanna

not meant to be posting under both. I changed it a few weeks back to ask a travel question and haven’t permachanged back. Actually I might just leave it.

I saw that ! Thought it was a particularly nasty thing to say !

notanotheroneagain · 22/09/2022 13:24

It was reported and removed.

Posters keep going back to it, as if MM supporters have not been called all sorts of names and labels and the critics never said a thing.

H&M themselves get called more names than you can shake a stick at, and no one says a god damn thing.

DFOD · 22/09/2022 13:24

MM never compared herself to Mandela. If that person was in the UK, they probably would have said, we never had so many parties since the jubilee or K&W wedding. The person clearly made a comparison with what MM would have known - he could not say since Kaiser Chiefs or Orlando Pirates winning, whatever. She would not have know what he was talking about, so naturally he used the biggest well known name.

It seems people are angry at what he said, but somehow want to project this anger at MM. Nothing to get upset about as far as I can tell.

If you are upset about Mandela comparisons, maybe you would have written 4 threads about someone who actually did compare themselves to Mandela. And that is Piers Morgan. You can take out all your bile about self important, narcissist this and that.

We can see right through this disingenuous excuse.

Nothing to get upset about as far as I can tell.

Maybe YOU are not upset.

But Nelson Mandela’s family are.

PoC took to the liberal and progressive press across the US and U.K. to state their upset as did any people in SA.

So are you suggesting that it’s nothing because YOU are not upset - even though these people are?

smilesy · 22/09/2022 13:25

Not sure how that makes it ok

It was, and removed thankfully.

unname · 22/09/2022 13:26

There was a poster on a deleted thread when the Queen died that repeatedly posted that people called MM a horrible name. They kept posting it, at least 5 or 6 times. Not a poster whose name I recognized but I keep thinking - the only person I ever heard use that word in relationship to Meghan was this poster. I am not saying no one else ever did, but you don’t defend a person that you care about by repeatedly saying “Everyone says he’s a complete asshole, but I don’t think so!”

They seemed genuinely upset about it, but not doing anyone any favors by constantly dragging up these vile words and accusations.

And it’s actually not true that no one says it’s wrong and cruel and unfair when it happens.

I agree.

jeffgoldblum · 22/09/2022 13:29

Well apparently calling posters ( I believe it was Londonwolf?) the c word , is acceptable because other people in other places call mm names!!
Who knew! 🤣

jeffgoldblum · 22/09/2022 13:31

I think I've travelled back 30 years and am now back at school!
Scary 😟

HannaHanna · 22/09/2022 13:27

None of the critics say a thing.

They do not condemn it, they do not criticise it. Not a thing.

I think the words have become a norm now and are acceptable to the critics. The few times like when someone name changed to a word, and an animation was put up. An MM supporter condemned it, then one or two critics said something. But lots of times supporters have complained about the name calling, and not only do the critics not say a word, most repeat the name and label calling.

Samcro · 22/09/2022 13:34

personal attacks are never acceptable.

jeffgoldblum · 22/09/2022 13:36

@Samcro , well said 👍

I'm so sorry, I might be dim , but I don't understand what your saying here?

notanotheroneagain · 22/09/2022 13:37

Kind of guessing that is the point. Call H&M names and labels all you want, because if someone calls you up on it, we will just accuse them of 'dragging' it all up. Nice little get away clause.

Just like posters were unhappy when posters reminded us of all the sh*t MM had gone through before the OW interview. No, no, let's not talk about that. So people can rewrite history and say all was well before the interview and it was not needed. Sorry, don't think so.

Roussette · 22/09/2022 13:39

I thought it was particularly sad when a poster was called the c word for criticising the Sussexes and quite a few of those who tend to post heavily in favour of them did not condemn this post outright.

And quite a few actually didn't see it! I didn't, I only saw a deletion. And I condemn anyone calling anyone that.

So just because someone who 'posts heavily' didn't call it out, it doesn't mean to say they saw it and didn't condemn it. Just sayin'

Surely you have been lurking here long enough to know that a poster changed their name to denigrate MM. Another one showed a screenshot of her animated in a ghastly way.

If not, you better have a good look at the threads, before rushing to post denying the level of treatment she has had on here and other places. It's been more than cruel, I just can't imagine some of the things people come up with for this woman.

jeffgoldblum · 22/09/2022 13:43

@Roussette , this as usual is not directed to you , or samcro, neither of you were posting when it happened, it was deleted ( as you would expect!) fairly quickly.
No one wants to name posters outright as that would be bullying,
But this just shows the unfairness of lumping posters all together!
