Do Camilla and Charles live separately?

She was dropped off in Wiltshire. I was surprised they didn't stay together today.

I'm not hating btw just genuinely curious and I kind of admire her for creating her own space if
It's true.

ALSO, because it's driving me crazy, did Anne and Tim separate briefly back in the nougties?

I'm sure I remember it being announced on Sky, but it was never mentioned again and he seemed to continue accompanying her to Royal engagements.

Yes they do.

garlicandsapphires · 15/09/2022 17:34

Great idea I reckon!

SheWoreYellow · 15/09/2022 17:37

Are you thinking of Anne’s first husband and their divorce?

EdieLedwell · 15/09/2022 17:38

Definitely works for them. Probably better for her children and grandchildren too I would imagine.

Can anyone confirm or deny the Anne/Tim separation story?

Definitely not. It was in the mid noughties.

Doesn’t she love being a hands-on granny and Charles isn’t arsed, so they live apart?

I can’t imagine he’s a particularly easy person to live with, even with an army of servants.

newbiename · 15/09/2022 17:44

I thought Anne and Tim separated years ago too.

Sally99 · 15/09/2022 17:46

I think Anne and Tim lead separate lives but there is no official separation

3peassuit · 15/09/2022 17:46

I think she kept her house on after they married. It works for them.

GiantCheeseMonster · 15/09/2022 17:46

They each have their own country houses. Apparently she’s not massively keen on Highgrove as she associates it with Diana.

Royals often spend more time apart than we realise - the Queen and Prince Philip were often in different places at the weekends.

Camilla seems to have her head screwed on the right way.

Definitely

I think lots of couples would do the same if they had several luxury homes to choose from.

Also, Camilla only married Charles in her 50s and has her own children and grandchildren. No doubt she likes being with them and away from royal life for at least some of the time. Might be harder now that she's queen however.

gogohmm · 15/09/2022 18:00

She has a house in Wiltshire where she spends time with her grandchildren, it's well known here. No mystery just the logistics of a blended family.

gogohmm · 15/09/2022 18:00

If you can afford it!

BobMortimersPocketMeat · 15/09/2022 18:05

Camilla bought Rey Mill House so she has a private space without the tappings of royalty where she can spend time with her children and grandchildren, not being a duchess/the Queen consort. She bought it years before they married - I was involved in the sale to her in a small way in the mid-nineties.

So they both live at Highgrove, and we see them regularly (I am very local), but she has always kept Rey Mill for herself and her family.

Viviennemary · 15/09/2022 18:07

I read she does spend quite a lot of time at her own house seeing her children and grandchildren as it is much less formal than the royal residences. I think thats quite sensible.,

Hbh17 · 15/09/2022 18:08

Wouldn't it be fabulous to have another house to pop off to when you were in need of time alone? Especially if one of you is a bit messy and the other one is uber-neat 🤣 Good for Camilla - she is ace.

NiqueNique · 15/09/2022 18:13

I believe they live together part of the time at St. James’ Palace, But Camilla kept her own home when she and the King got married. Highgrove is about 30 minutes drive away.

Eminently sensible, IMO! If you’re not together 24/7 then you actually want to be together and appreciate it when you see him/her and aren’t desperate to get away from each other.

blockpavingismynightmare · 15/09/2022 18:14

Anne and her husband are not together. She is involved with Andrew Parker Bowles these days

Popaholic · 15/09/2022 18:17

Their homes are HUGE…. It’s not like they are in a 1 bed flat… why do they need space from each other?

NiqueNique · 15/09/2022 18:18

I honestly wasn’t surprised that they each retreated to their own space for this one day that they get to have on their own in the week since the Queen died. They must both be absolutely touched out and exhausted. The King is quite a contemplative character and probably needed some time to himself.

I don’t think that’s true. They have
been friends for most of her life. No evidence it’s more than that.

If Anne and Tim aren’t together, why don’t they divorce? I did notice a lack of warmth between them in the last week.

Because Camilla has her own children and grandchildren who she maybe likes to see away from the restrictions and high level security of a royal estate?
